Not What We Expected Based on Description
The apartment is located in a sketchy area and we didn't feel safe a night in that area of town. The streets around the apartment are littered with trash. There were 4 of us and the place felt cramped as there is no real living room and a 4 seat dining room table that is cramped. The apartment is advertised as roomy for 8 people. It would be very cramped. They advertise the kitchen has everything you need, but there was no wine opener, toaster or coffee filters. The place was dirty upon arrival - stained sheets, condom wrapper by the bed, old coffee grounds in the coffee maker, etc. The lady checking us in was very nice and apologetic for the condition. She was also helpful in getting us transportation. We were not happy with the accommodations and contacted VRBO. The owner offered a 50% refund if we wanted to go elsewhere, but at that late date we couldn't find other accommodations at a reasonable price so we stayed.
Very nice apartment, good for adults .
Clean large apartment. Great attentive service by the owners. 2 blocks to metro.
Would absolutely reccomend. Centrally located. Great service . Large apartment . Owners will organize transportation.
The location can affect your feeling about your stay
Location: Both good and bad. It is close to the Roma Termani main train station, only about 10 minutes walk. It only takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Colosseum. Lots of good restaurants within 10 minutes walk most of which were very reasonably priced. Only 1 1/2 blocks to a fairly large park. There were many small vendors selling all kinds of cheap clothing, nick-nacks, shoes, etc. around the park. A couple of grocery stores were close by, the largest at the end of the train station is only about 5 minutes walk away.
The bad is that the neighbourhood appears to be quite rough. I'm not sure that a family would feel comfortable here, even though the owner says that the area is quite safe. There's quite a bit of graffiti and homeless/unemployed refugees hanging out.
Apartment: Very large apartment, two large bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet and sink). The third bed is a fold out couch in the dining/sitting room. There's another table in the kitchen area, which is small but very functional. The appliances all work well, it is nice to have separate washer and dryer. A small thing but North Americans might miss having a toaster! Hot water is from a continuous heater so works very well. The air conditioning is not as effective as some might want. It is about a 45 minute walk to the Spanish Steps, 75 minute walk to the Vatican (the metro station is very close by and can get you there much quicker).
The owner was helpful but was a bit rushed when showing the apartment. No complaints here.
3 couples traveling to Rome for a few days....close to terminal which made it easy for transportation......restaurants and grocery close by......secured building.
The place was terrific. Wish it was a little closer to the train station. Food store very close by
Nino was very nice and extremely helpful. Even helped to arrange car service. Very clean place.
