About Brooks Cutsforth

We are a family that fell in love with Montana. Some of us have lived in Missoula and/or gone to college at U of M. Our family has enjoyed the cabin for 15+ and we love to share the Montana experience. This place is georgous inside and out!

Brooks Cutsforth purchased this cabin in 1995

Why Brooks Cutsforth chose Montana

In 1996, My Dad and I took a trip to fly-fish in Montana. We drove all around Western Montana. One of our destinations was Lincoln, MT. Long time family friends owned a famous steak-house in Lincoln called the' 7-up Ranch and Supper Club.' They treated us to some of the best steaks I have ever had...we are talking 32oz Montana Beef steaks! (Unfortunately, the '7-up' burned down in 2001.)

We found that Lincoln was a very unique place. When we visited in 1996, our friends took us to look at this Cabin. It was recently built (1992) and vacant. The story is this: a mine executive built the house for his wife and family to move up to Lincoln and open a new gold mine. They used all local carpenters and local materials and built this dream-cabin from scratch. There had been opposition to the idea of a mine in Lincoln and the mining company decided not to open a new mine. The Cabin sat vacant and he decided to buy the house. It was just too Beautiful to pass up. My father says, 'It was the best investment I have ever made,'

With snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountians in one direction, and, the Blackfoot Valley in the other, it is something that only can be explained by seeing what Big Sky Country is about. This area is beautiful.

What makes this cabin unique

This is your own piece of Big Sky Country. World Class fly-fishing in every direction. The Blackfoot River is well-known for it scenic fisheries. A full array of guided trips are avalible in the area for fishing and hunting. Winter activities include snowmobiling, skiing, cross country skiing and others.

Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park are both just a short drive away. Seely Lake and many other lakes are also close by.

Many other attractions in the area are unique to Montana. There are Ghost Towns close by and the area is packed with American History.
