About Joan Beaulieu
I grew up in this house, so many fond memories were formed here. We would often return to visit with Mom and enjoy a nice Sunday Dinner or a family BBQ in the backyard. Many family cookouts and horseshoe tournaments were held in that backyard. Cousins would stop by with fresh caught lobster straight from their boats. My father built this house with his own two hands, and I plan to see it stand for generations to come. It has been well lived and well loved.
Joan Beaulieu purchased this House in 1953
Why Joan Beaulieu chose Rye
I was raised in this house and wanted to make sure the history stayed while the housed around have changed.
What makes this House unique

Oh my .... where to start .... Joan has thought of everything ... and I mean EVERYTHING !!!!!
We wanted for nothing. I have never stayed at a place in NH that was so well equipped. Bikes, beach chairs, sand toys, umbrella, and boogie boards , even a red wagon to take all your gear to the beach.
The house was the same ... kitchen utensils , note pads, towels, WIFI , grill, the list goes on and on .....
The beds were super comfortable and enough room for all.... The kids loved the room with the 3 beds.
This is a perfect beach house walking distance to a beautiful beach.
I only have one complaint ... I HAD to come home ... I would have stayed here forever :) Thank you Joan, you made our stay easy and hassle free.
Charming cottage perfect for a family gathering.
This was like a piece of home, a place for family members from different parts of the country to gather for a wedding. Thank you.
Perfect for our stay
We did a lot of travelling so wasn't at the house a lot during the day but it was like being in a real home not a rental! The backyard was perfect for our family picnic and being close to the beach we were able to go days and evenings as well! Nice neighbors as well.
Perfect size and location for 7
What a great place to stay. Very clean, and easy to access. Very close to Janess Beach; just a short walk to the end of the road. Close to everything in Rye/Hampton/Portsmouth. The House was more than well equipped and the owner was very easy to communicate with. Would stay again!
Perfect Vacation Rental
We stayed over the 4th of July week and the house was ideal. The boys, ages 5, 11 and 13 had the best time playing in the yard, playing Wii and walking to the beach every day. The older boys took surfing lessons twice with the Sessions Surf Shop and loved it. The house is well equipped and comfortable and the garage has all kinds of useful gear including bicycles, boogie boards and chairs for the beach. The back yard has a nice grill and table to eat outside. We made two trips to the Beach Plum for lobster rolls and ice cream and found an amazing lobster place in Kittery, the Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier. The owner was very responsive and genuinely concerned that the guests enjoy their stay. We would love to rent this house again when we get back to Rye Beach.
Good and clean...location perfect
Overall everything was great but would like to see better pillows and a ceiling fan upstairs.
Need to make address numbers more visible.
Possibly put cable tv upstairs
Ice House for fresh off the boat fried fish and delicious ice cream. Walmart within 15 minutes. McKinnons Meat Market right on route 1. Water Country also within 15 minutes of the house. Prescott Park for outdoor plays. Hampton Casino and Ballroom for other shows. Lago's homemade ice cream is a wonderful spot to stop and eat at. GREAT Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse nearby. Rye Harbor is a great spot for picnics and playtime. Odiorne Point State Park, and Isle of Shoals round out the experience. Multiple brewery tours within 30 minutes. Will provide a binder full of great eats and treats within the area.
