Although located in the city's premier National Historic Preservation District, this 1908 Arts & Crafts style has was fully remodeled in 2012. All new central heat and air, refinished hardwood floors, high quality beds, luxury linens and six flat screen televisions to keep you comfortable and entertained. Cable and Wifi are included as well.
Original woodwork, details and period appropriate fixtures maintain the home turn of the century style. A spacious deck with grill, table and benches adds outdoor lounging space. A fire table creates a wonderful backyard focal point.
The location is second to none, with all of the city's best located close by-- Walk less than a block to Cherokee Park, a 400 acre urban oasis of walking trails, playgrounds, running loop, golf course, fountains and ball fields. From May to September, enjoy the free summer concerts each Sunday night in Willow Park (a small park at the front of the larger Cherokee Park). Or, walk in the other direction, less than a block, to shopping boutiques, coffee shops, great restaurants and, just a block further on, a full grocery, dry cleaner and movie theater. Churchill Downs is 4 miles away, downtown is 2 miles and the airport is 5 miles.
Built in 1908, the home is a classic brick four square- The first floor has a large living room with sleeper sofa, a dining room (open to the kitchen), a kitchen with island seating for 4 and a full bathroom and access to the 350 sq. ft. deck.
The second floor has three queen bedrooms, a small den with a sleeper sofa and two full baths. The third floor has a king master suite with an open plan bath (walk in shower for 2, claw foot tub and separate toilet closet).
Every bedroom has a wall mounted flat screen television, as do the living room and den. Wifi is available throughout the home. Beds are made up with 400 thread count cotton sheets and four top quality hypo allergenic pillows.
The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, glassware and cutlery for 12 as well as pots, pans, utensils and small appliances. A corian topped island seats four.
There is a two car garage with additional off street parking for one large or two small cars. Ample street parking is available as well.
PLEASE NOTE: Although close to many restaurants, clubs, cafes and bars, the home is on a quiet residential street. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 9am with no noise audible outside the home permitted during these hours.
Maximum occupancy of 12 is for families only. No more than 8 unrelated adults permitted. No bachelor party groups permitted. Housekeeping services are available at an additional charge.
In November 2011 I purchased this property because of it's outstanding location and 'good bones'. After an extensive remodel, it is ready to keep you in comfort and style for the duration of your Louisville residency. My family uses the house about 6 weeks a year, but it is available most dates. After many years in the hospitality industry, I know what makes a home comfortable and what amenities are most appreciated.

Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby, of course, but it also has one of the nation's finest park systems, great live theater, huge arts festivals and (mostly) lovely weather. The Cherokee Triangle neighborhood is a vibrant, upscale but eclectic zone flanked by gorgeous parks on one side and nightlife, shopping and restaurants on the other-- I have lived in the area for 15 years and would not consider a move to any other Louisville location!

This was a perfect house for our trip. Able to sleep 8 comfortably - don't forget to find the third floor through one of the bedrooms! Best part is the house is within walking distance of many great restaurants and bars. Otherwise it's a quick cab ride to everywhere else you could want to go. Would gladly stay here again.
From arrival to departure our experience was great. The proximity of food and fun could not have been better unless of course you provided a limo or helicopter. Every part of the house worked as you would expect and the décor was very comfortable. You need to get the third floor master if possible, but all the rooms were great. I would suggest an upgrade on maybe one mattress. The neighborhood was quite and everyone we encountered was friendly.

Loved the convenience of this location...walking distance to many restaurants and a neat park! Wish they had mowed the grass and trimmed the bushes...especially where we needed to walk on the sidewalk to the house. Also wish the basement with the washer and dryer was more ready for guest use. We still had towels in both the washer and dryer running, and it was 30 minutes late for check-in. Later in the week we needed to request extra tp, trash bags, and laundry soap because extras were not available...and we were paying for 8 adults and 3 kids.
Deirdre's home is absolutely lovely, and she was a terrific hostess! Our group of 10 fit pleasantly in a great mix of bedrooms and comfortable pull-out couches. The 4 bathrooms were also well appointed/laid out, so we were never running into each other! We enjoyed the proximity to downtown - Slugger Field was just a short walk after about 15 minutes on the #40 bus (stop at the end of the street) or approximately a $10 Lyft or Uber ride. This part of Bardstown Road was also great since we could easily stroll to restaurants and bars. We all had a wonderful time - thank you!
This house was the perfect thing for us. There is plenty of space to spread out and a lovely back patio and front porch. The location cannot be beat- we walked to breakfast every morning. A 1-minute walk to shops, restaurants. One night there were some noisy people in the street, but otherwise was very quiet despite being so close to everything. The owner was terrific- available immediately when we had a question and needed an extra sheet. Check in and out was so simple with an automatic lock. Loved it and would stay there again.
Fabulous location 1/2 block of Louisville's 'Restaurant Row' and 1 block from the city's best park- the 400 acre Olmstead designed 'Cherokee Park'. Walk less than a block to local coffee shop. Less than two blocks to movie theater, full grocery store, fitness facility and over 10 restaurants (with dozens more restaurants within 1 mile).
