About Denise Hofstra

We purchased this darling cottage when our girls were younger. It's been a great place to get away over the years. Many families have stayed here while their kids were attending the Fine Arts school. It's easy access at only 2 miles from the school entrance.

Denise Hofstra purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Denise Hofstra chose Northern Michigan

This peaceful cottage was the original homestead/cottage on Birch Point. People have been staying here for years and we recognized a gem when we found it. Interlochen Fine Arts camp can be seen from the lakefront. This would be a great rental for families attending the camp.

What makes this cottage unique

The great room has a beautiful brick wood-burning fireplace with a large hearth. Two glass sliders open up to a large screen porch that faces the lake. Be it summer or winter, it makes for a beautiful setting.

Fantastic week

  • 5 of 5

We had a great week on Green Lake. The house was perfect. Quiet and secluded yet a few miles from stores. The kitchen was well stocked, loved the screened in porch. Our dogs enjoyed the lake as well as the grand-kids. We will diffidently consider renting again.

Wonderful home in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We were afraid we would have a hard time finding the home based on some of the reviews. Google maps took us right to the home. Clean, well stocked, everything we needed for our stay. It was an easy drive to our favorite places like Point Betsie Lighthouse, Frankfort, The Cherry Hut in Beulah. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. The lake is warm with a sandy bottom and very shallow for quite a way out. All around GREAT place.

Nice lake front property

  • 5 of 5

Well kept 4 bedroom cottage right on Green Lake. There is a nice fire pit and picnic table down by the lake. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great house and lake with beautiful sunsets

  • 5 of 5

Great house with beautiful lake! The house met all of our needs. The beds were very comfortable and there was ample seating in the living room. Kitchen had everything we needed. The screened porch was a great place to keep our kayaks and offered a great place to eat outside without worrying about bugs. There is path that leads to the lake and fire ring and another picinic table. The water is warm and crystal clear with a nice sandy bottom. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in this quiet and peaceful nook of Green Lake. Grocery store, ice cream, Dollar General and mini-golf all close. House was in the shade and stayed cool and comfortable. We enjoyed watching a bald eagle several days while we were there! Close enough to do day trips to Mackinac Island and Silver Lake Sand Dunes where you can rent dune buggeys and ride the dunes.
