Beautifull villa between Etna and Taormina sea-cost. Stunning view.

Bedrooms 4
Separate WC's1
Space 2,152 sq. ft.
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 5 - 7 nights

About the property

Villa, 4 rooms, 7-8 persons in the Etna countryside.

Imagine the perfect country scene. One side facing green valleys sloping down to an intense blue sea coast, running from the stunning sandy bay of Taormina to the black rocks of southern cost. The other side ...the powerful strength of a never sleeping volcano, that at times rumbles but always intrigues the ones who look at it from a distance and those who trek along its paths....

Imagine your sunny breakfast on the terrace with a stunning view of the sea. Miscarello is known as Giarre 'terrace' and you will find out why. The house is relaxing and peaceful and it has plenty of space for kids to run and play. The groud around is planted with cherries and during the cherry season you can daily pick them up from the trees or collecting chestnuts or blackberries on nice walk near the house. Within a 15 minutes drive from the villa you will find all sort of fruits, vegetables, local cheese maker, butcher, local fish market, honey producer and of course wine maker to test all the power and beauty of the volcanic soil.

The house was renovated in 2013 and is well equipped with all comforts you need for a relaxing holiday in the countryside. The Villa consists of a total of 4 bedrooms (2 double room, 1 twin room and 1 single room + an additional bed) a typical country kitchen, a large dining room, a warm living area with fireplace and on the outside, a lodge with a wonderful view on the Mediterranean sea with a barbecue and big table for your lunch outside.

Absolutely loved our week at this beautiful villa!!!

  • 5 of 5

Two families with five adult children met for a week at Paolo and Christina's beautiful villa. It was incredible! We arrived exhausted and hungry and a banquet was spread out on the table. Delicious!!! The house was clean and comfortably accommodated everyone. We traveled during the day but each night returned to grill on the terrace and enjoy the amazing scenery around us. The view was simply spectacular! As night descended, the lights of Taromina to Syracusa spread out before us. We could even see the lights on the toe of mainland Italy! On our last full day, Paolo picked us up and took us on a fantastic tour of Mt. Etna. We really enjoyed it and all agreed it was the best day of our trip. We learned a lot and enjoyed the hikes and special places that he showed us. We encourage everyone to go on one of his tours. We look forward to staying in your beautiful home again.Thank you so much Paolo and Christina! Your villa is simply magical!

Great villa with a amazing view !

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week in this very beautiful villa ideally placed between the sea and Mount Etna , we don't get tired of its large terrace and especially the amazing views . The decoration is very personal so we felt us rather in a guest house, everything is planned. The owner Paolo and his wife are very friendly and we had a fabulous welcome with a series of delicious aperitif (Sicilian specialities homemade). Paolo will also be very available if you wish to make an excursion, he is everywhere :-) We just had a little hot at night and attention to automatic sprinklers to 10:15 p.m. :-D

And if you find a car key.... it's mine ..... lol

Thank you both !

Ideal para familias

  • 5 of 5

Great stay we loved it

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The house was the perfect place for our kids both private and roomy. Paolo went above and beyond as a host. He was always accessible if we had questions and is very knowledgeable about the area. There was dinner waiting when we showed up! He even took us to the top of mt Etna and showed us a good place to take the kids sledding. I fully recommend this propery to everyone. We plan to return next year

Spectacular Sicilian Villa - what a view!

  • 5 of 5

We had the absolute pleasure of being able to stay in the Villa at Miscarello for 7 weeks in May – June this year. Based on the reviews below and the photos, we chose this Villa because we have two young active children (2 & 5 yrs) and the thought of them being able to run free range while I worked and my husband looked after them made us very happy. With family in Catania we knew we would be going in and out of the city frequently. Being able to “retreat to the Villa” after what we anticipated would be some hot days in Catania sounded heavenly. The Villa at Miscarello exceeded our every expectation! Paolo and his family are one of a kind and went above and beyond to make sure that we felt welcome and comfortable in their home. From the wonderful food and wine ready for us upon our arrival, to the outside playhouse and toys they had for the girls and the reliable internet connection they arranged, Paolo made sure we had everything we could possibly need as we settled into our “home away from home”. Being “west coast foodies”, my husband was thrilled when Paolo took him to meet the local cheesemaker, butcher, honey producer, baker and of course, wine maker – all of them within a 15 min drive from the Villa. I would be remiss if I did not mention Pizza Da Nino in Macchia (8 min drive) which we enjoyed frequently while we watched the sunset over the Mediterranean back at the Villa. It was cherry season during our stay and our girls spent each morning saying hello to the farmers who were always very generous with the daily pickings from the cherry orchard on the property. As if this were not enough, we were able to see Mt. Etna erupt for 5 days while we were there. It was spectacular to sit outside and watch the lava flow each evening with a glass of local wine. Through the tour company "Excursions in Sicily" and with Paolo as our professional guide we did a hike up Mt. Etna with our 5 year old which was one of the highlights of her trip. My husband’s family visited us frequently and were able to find the Villa easily even with my rudimentary Italian. We created so many memories during our time here and the serenity of the Villa is central to many of them. Upon returning to Canada, our two year old has constantly been asking when we are going to go home – to Miscarello. The Pennisi family and their Villa hold a special place in our hearts and we are looking forward to returning very soon.

Owner's Response: Elizabeth, Darren, Sofia and Giuseppina, we are really happy that you had a great holiday and we helped to achieve this for you. We also had a good time with you and we will keep you all in our hearts. It was really nice to meet a family so nice and also similar to us even if they're living on the other side of the world. The day we spent together with the motor boat in Taormina was fantastic and the kids really enjoyed playing around. I'm also happy that you enjoyed your trip in our vulcano and I think that Enrico and Sofia were like little "Indiana Jones" when we visit the lava cave with helmets and torches. I'm pleased that you have tested our chees and wine typical of these area. Thanks again for nice time spent together.....and we will keep in touch. A big kiss from Cristina, Paolo, Alessandro and Enrico

We stayed in the Villa for just over a week. Paolo & his wife met us at the villa with a cool wine & local food warmed for us, all helping to make you feel very welcome & relaxed. We loved our stay. The villa has everything you could possibly need. Not far from all the local tourist sites. We had seven people in our party. Four adults & three children. We all loved our afternoons & early evenings relaxing on the back patio taking in the views & the kids could run & play to their hearts content. Also the kids could be as loud as they liked, you did not have to worry about keeping them quiet as you sometimes feel you have to do when staying in a hotel. You feel like you are staying in someones much cherised old family home. There was so many different ornaments & history through out the home. The owners made us feel incredibly welcome & were very helpful. I have only great things to say about our stay here. The only issue I guess is that you would find it very difficult to stay here if you did not have a car. I have no idea what the local public system is like, but I did not see any local buses in the vicinity. We enjoyed visiting Mt Etna, Taormina and the small town of Savoca where scenes were filmed from the Godfather Movie.
