This beautiful and peaceful house is located in Platte Clove in the Catskills (NY), between the legendary Woodstock and Hunter. The house is approximately two hours from New York City, and it’s the perfect getaway for family, friends, or romantic occasions to disconnect the mind from the stress of the city and find a relax environment and sportive life. In fact the place is situated on a quiet and private 12 acre land with a pool and tennis court.
The 2,800 sq ft house is warm and comfortable to accommodate 8 people.
All four bedrooms are light-filled, and very comfortable. The main living room has a beautiful stone fireplace, six skylights providing great natural light and an incredible landscape view. The second living room has a large screen TV to watch movies, cable TV or Netflix movies. We provide a large DVD selection of movies. Both areas are great rooms to enjoy board games ( that we provide), listen music (with stereo system and wide variety of music), have a glass of wine, sit by a cozy fire, or watch a movie. The house has Wifi connection.
The large cook’s full kitchen comes equipped with stainless steel appliances as well as other cooking tools, dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator, tableware, cookware and bar ware. The dining room is an area with seating for 8 with windows that look to the amazing landscape view, perfect for a friendly dinner.
Outside there is an 800sq ft sunny deck with a hot tub for 10 people and a natural grill for BBQ with a table for 10. Excellent place for eating and entertaining.
A romantic and shaded front porch is perfect to read a book, listen music or just relax in an suggestive landscape views.
There is a beautiful private pool that sized 45 feet by 15 with 5 feet deep (closed from Columbus Day until Memorial Day).
The tennis court is surrounded by an amazing forest that creates a very special location. The court was built with asphalt mixed with sand to provide a better balance to the balls.
The outside parking is for 4/5 cars.
We are couple that lives in NYC and loves the nature and outdoor activities. Throughout the years we have improved the house and added several amenities like a infinity pool, a tennis court, a steam bath, a hot tub and a wood burning BBQ on the deck.
Roberta Manelli purchased this house in 2004
This place is magical. You find a peaceful and relaxing environment. It's the perfect getaway for who wants to disconnect the mind from the stress of the city, in fact, this property is extremely secluded and the access to it is through a private road.
The inside of the house has been carefully renovated without missing any detail.
A group of us stayed for a long weekend in September. The house itself is beautiful, but it is clear no one lives there or is there on a frequent basis to take care of it. When we arrived, the refrigerator was making a loud/screeching noise. Neither the caretaker or owner were able to fix it until the next morning which resulted in very little sleep for many of us in the house.
Aside from that, the pool pump was broken and the pool water turned a foggy green color by the end of the first day. We needed the pool guy to come out twice over the course of the weekend to treat the water.
Finally, we had to clean up old food that was left in the pantry and change light bulbs that had run out in effort to get the weekend started on the right foot. You will also need to pay ~$70 for your own charcoal and fire wood if you'd like to take advantage of those house amenities.
All said, we had a great time. I would have preferred to have a house in perfect condition given the $3k it cost us, but it only put a small damper on the experience overall. The house is beautiful and very comfortable for a group.
This was my third time staying at this house, and it was once again such a pleasure! For both winter and summer, it's the perfect place to spend a few days with family and friends. We enjoyed grilling on the deck, making homemade pizzas in the outdoor oven, relaxing in the hot tub, playing with the kids in the pool (which was a perfect temperature, even for my infant daughter), and sweating on the tennis court! We didn't even end up leaving the property because there was so much to do there.
Roberta is very responsive over email, and if anything needs to be tended to during the stay Emilio is very quick to help.
We hope to keep coming back with friends and family for ski seasons and summer vacations to come!
The property is absolutely amazing. We were looking for a place to disconnect and get some peace and quiet...this house had it all! The property was exactly as described, and maintenance guy met us at the property to show us how everything worked. Will definitely be coming back!
This property checks all the boxes-- it's nicer than many of its comps, has amenities not normally available, is totally private, and is convenient to hiking/skiing/town centers. The owners were very responsive leading up to my stay, and when one minor thing went wrong on the trip (which was totally unforeseen and out of their control), they responded immediately, generously, and professionally, so that the perfect time we were already enjoying remained uninterrupted. The property and owners are top notch, and I would most certainly return.
This property was everything we could have hoped for and more! This house is a little piece of heaven in the middle of the woods. We were there with a group of friends for a relaxing getaway weekend from the city. The accommodations were top notch - plenty of space and beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. The views were exquisite and the surrounding nature was all we needed to complete this amazing trip. Roberta was such an amazing host and was so responsive and caring for our trip. She gave us anything we needed and Emilio was such a great help as well. Words cannot express how grateful and thankful we are for Roberta letting us stay at her wonderful house. We will definitely be planning a trip back very soon.
This was our second time staying at this house. After staying here over the winter as our ski house, we decided that it would be even more fun to stay here during the summer. Unlike most other houses we have stayed at in the area, this one is very nice. Comfortable beds, clean towels provided, stereo system, wifi, large hot tub, clay pizza oven, Argentine grill, gas grill, heat lamp, tennis court, heated pool, steam room, foosball table, day bed, fire place, Nespresso machine, good water pressure, etc. The caretaker, Emilio, is very responsive and makes sure that everything is working. While we were there, he installed an bluetooth outdoor sound system by the pool, replaced the heat lamp and replaced a propane tank. He also came by to check on us when power in the area went out due to a downed power line. I guess if there's one thing that have made this place even better, and this is true for pretty much all rental houses, it would be for them to sharpen the knives. We would love to rent this house again.
