Lovely stay at Can Leandro
We have just returned from a brilliant 8 days at Can Leandro. It is a lovely property that is well maintained and a pleasure to stay in. The house itself is a good size and the washing machine was a great bonus except that we could not find an iron and board which would have been even more helpful. The children loved the pool and spent most of the day in there leaving us to relax under the shady terrace - we even managed to read a whole book each for the first time since having the children!! Katy and Manuel were lovely and very patient given our lack of Spanish but we muddled along fine! The walk down to Soller is lovely but steep and hot - probably ok in the spring or autumn - so we found a car necessary. We would definitely return here again. We followed the advice of the previous report on the web and bought bug plugs at the last minute - no one got bitten!! However the bedrooms are very hot at night and a fan in each room would have just cooled them just enough!
We are pleased to know you manage to read your whole book! Fantastic. This is what we want at Can Leandro: to provide beatiful accommodation to make your holiday experience a joy. We do have now a fan in each bedroom for the Summer time. Thank you to let us know.
Great outside space and super view
We very much enjoyed our week at Can Leandro - it really is as nice as it looks on the photos! It's a traditional style Mallorcan house with a lovely garden and the view across Soller is great too. We stayed as 2 couples and it suited us well.
The outside area is particularly good - with lots of space to eat together or to chill out on the four (new) sun-loungers and swing seat. There's plenty of shade as well as sun on the south-facing terrace and the pool is perfect for cooling off on a hot day.
Inside there is also plenty of space, everything was very clean & in good condition. The bedrooms are both a good size with comfy beds. The kitchen is very well provided for in terms of crockery, cooking equipment etc and even has a large gas hob.
Generally it was very quiet & peaceful, even though it's just off the main road there was rarely any traffic noice. There are no neighbours apart from a caretaker at the nearby chapel. Access by car was easy and parking was fine, although a bit of care is required when turning around.
The walk down to the centre of Soller took us 20-30 mins (a bit longer returning uphill). There is a footpath that's quite rough and fairly steep, but also a winding track which is easier, although longer. Parking in Soller & Port de Soller (5 & 10 mins drive respectively) was fairly easy when we did take the car out. There's lots of good options for walks & hikes right from the door to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside.
The owners were very responsive both to our queries beforehand and while we were there. When something needed sorting out it was fixed quickly.
One tip - take some good mosquito repellent as the little biters do come out after dark...
Overall we all had a very nice stay here. I'd recommend Can Leandro if you want a relaxing holiday away from it all but without being in the middle of nowhere!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. We are very happy that you enjoyed the privileged views from Can Leandro. It is indeed a perfect place to start some of the most amazing walks and to finish off coming back home and refresh in the pool. We will make available more guides and maps on walks as suggested. Thank you again and looking forward to seeing you again in the future.
A beautiful villa with an amazing view
When I booked Can Leandro I was slightly worried as it had no recent reviews - so this is why I am now leaving my review. The villa is traditional, the bedrooms are a good size and the kitchen is well equipped. The pool and outside sitting area are absolutely beautiful and the view is amazing. We loved walking down to Soller in the evening, a bit of a hike back and quiet hot but we did it. The port is also beautiful, the children went on a Kayak trip which they loved. Now for some negatives - the pictures show a really good BBQ area but the grate does not fit properly, there are no BBQ utensils and you cannot use the sink as the water is not connected. There are only 2 sun loungers, when I asked if we could have another 1 or 2 - I was told they had broken. If the rest of the seating had not been so good I would have been more disappointed. As it was we managed ok but obviously when you are on holiday you have an expectation. We have stayed in villas all over the world and have always had enough sun loungers for the number of people the villa catered for. It is this that stops me from giving a 5 star rating. As a previous guest said 8 years ago a few more home comforts would make this a 5 star property and it would really not cost very much to do this.
In summary, we had a wonderful relaxing time here and the slight negatives would not stop me from coming back.
Gorgeous pool and stunning views!
We have just returned from Can Leandro where we enjoyed a lovely week relaxing by the pool reading our books. The property's pool is beautiful, very clean and cool with stunning views over the valley - it is worth the entrance fee itself!
The terrace is huge and a great secluded spot for enjoying the day and your meals with a lovely through breeze to keep you comfortable. The location of the property is quiet (there is a road behind the property but it didn't bother us with noticeable traffic noise). There are no descernable neighbours except nuns at the convent next door and a few villas on the walk down to Soller, so a car is very necessary; but Port Soller is great for an evening meal or morning walk/coffee and very easy to drive to. (We only went into Soller for the supermarket and for one meal but the square had some nice restaurants - but we like the sea which is why we like Port Soller more!)
Inside the villa, there is everything you need for self-catering, it is very clean and as we spent most time outside it was more than adequate. Though we were glad we brought the ipod/speakers and I was glad I brought my hairdyer, so for future the owners might like ot invest in small things like that to make it extra special. The biggest issue was sleeping at night as it was very hot and a fan in the bedroom would have really helped (and we should have bought a mosi plug in as we needed the windows open to let air in but my husband got very bitten!)
The property felt like a new rental and so with time and visitors recommendations for restaurants, where to find a supermarket and little things like that; a few more home comforts such as a hairdryer, some guidebooks/reading books, ipod docking station; and some fan/aircon in the bedrooms then we thought this could be a great rental (and at the moment is stopping me giving it 5*)
The owners seemed very nice and welcoming (but we don't speak Spanish so think we managed to understand each other!) Mireia was very helpful in advance and also during the stay though.
We had a realy lovely time here and would recommend to our friends and family, and we wish the Manuel and Cati well for the future.
We are so pleased to hear that you had such a good staying at Can Leandro. We always ensure that our guest are comfortable and happy with the house and your very positive comments do really motivate us to keep up with the high standards. I have passed on your suggestions to Cati and Manuel too. They were delighted when I read your message for them. I do agree as well that the pool and the views are stunning! Thank you and all the best.
The house is in a tranquil and peaceful location surrounded by the perfume of orange blossom from the citrus groves. On the Soller/Lluc road, approx 3 km from Soller, there is a sign to Monastery of Santa Maria de S'Olivar. Locally named 'Sa Capelleta'. There is a small chapel in modernist building stile from 1917. The house is just over the chapel, overlooking the town of Soller. You can walk to the house from Soller in 20 minutes. 10 minutes by car will bring you to the beach at Port of Soller or Soller itself with its Art Nouveau architecture and greater variety of shops and its food market. 20 minutes by car will bring you to Deia and further along to Valdemossa. Palma itself is a picturesque train ride away or a 45 minute car journey.
We request the 15% of the total as a deposit and the remaining balance to be paid on the day of the arrival to the house.
