Why Nikki Webber chose Dartmoor

Tilley's Cottage has lots of character and is warm and cosy even if the weather is not kind but you are in the perfect location to tumble out of the door and buy whatever you fancy, walk around the historical trail, swim in the summer just over the road or head out to a selection of places to eat really good food. If you do decide to go further afield Moretonhampstead is known as the gateway to the Moor so you can just leave the front door, turn left and don't stop...Dartmoor is right there!

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cottage is absolutely fantastic and really homely. We didn't want to leave!! The little extras really make a difference and it is really clear that you think of your tenants and what would make the stay enjoyable. We would deffinately be recommending this cottage to our friends.

A beautiful, character filled cottage, much more spacious than it looks from the outside.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 3 nights in Tilly's Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The cottage had loads of character and finished to a beautiful standard inside. The space and room sizes were larger than we expected from an old cottage and the log burner in the evenings was a lovely treat, as were the fresh scones left for us.

It is in an ideal location for exploring the area and we found Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, and a good explore of Dartmoor all within easy reach. It was also really nice to have everything you needed in the lovely village high street so you could go for a nice meal or drink without having to drive anywhere. The Deli next door did some fabulous local food!

I would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anybody wanting to explore this area of Devon and would happily stay there again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

The cottage has been re-furbished to a high standard and is very cosy and warm. It is fabulously located for local amenities and with the moors virtually on your doorstep, there are a number of excellent walks close to hand. We had a really good break and I would recommend the property for anyone one looking to get away from it all.
