About Todd
We are a family of four who love the outdoors. Todd and Elaine work as Geoscientists. Although we love people, we also enjoy staying in places where you are more likely to meet a curious squirrel or a rogue goat than another human. So our cabin in Caddo Gap is a place we love to spend as much time at as we can.
Todd purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Todd chose Caddo Gap
We bought our cabin in the woods as a place to get away from it all. We loved the undeveloped river, seclusion, and access to some of Arkansas' beautiful state parks and Hot Springs. We sometimes enjoy spending a full week at the cabin and river - never leaving the property! On other trips, we visit Little Missouri Falls, Lake Catherine State Park waterfall, Petit Jean State Park waterfall, or crystal and diamond hunting.
What makes this Cabin unique
This cabin is truly hidden in the woods. Even most of the locals don't know it is there. Swim, play, relax in the hammocks, watch birds, kayak, or just listen to the quiet nature around you. There are no other homes or cabins on the 80+ acre property so you are unlikely to see anyone else unless you invite them yourself. Wake up with coffee on the back porch overlooking the river valley. Bathe in the outdoor bathhouse. Enjoy a campfire with friends as you watch the fireflies. Watch the fall colors in October and November, or the spring bloom in April. Relax and float in the swimming hole of the S.Fork Caddo River right at the base of the deck steps. Life is good at the cabin!

Peaceful and private
Enjoy nature and privacy,,,
Kayak, swim, fish or just relax. Large deck and walk around porch. Perfect getaway for family!
We're happy to know you had a great stay at the cabin and made some wonderful memories. We hope you will come again and enjoy the quiet, peaceful property with your family.
Wonderful place to relax
This is a beautiful property well removed from civilization. We spent the whole weekend relaxing in the shade or on inner tubes in the river and even caught a fish or two. The night sky is a treat here and the dock is a great place to view it. We also really enjoyed the outdoor shower/bath - a great place to enjoy a little wine and listen to the forest. Highly recommend!
Thank you for the nice review. We're glad you enjoyed relaxing away from the city! You were great guests and we hope you'll return someday! -Todd & Elaine
Beautiful!
We had a wonderful trip to Arkansas. The cabin worked beautifully for our family of 5. The waterfront area was amazing and we enjoyed exploring. The cabin had everything we needed to grill, cook, relax, and have a perfectly low-key Easter weekend.
Delivered the much needed down time we were looking for.
We enjoyed the serenity this offered. Plenty of activities, either dry or wet.
Way off the beaten path
My girlfriend and I had a great time at the cabin. Took the paddle boat out for a spin. We didn't take full advantage of the hiking (except up and down the stairs in the back, whooo). We really liked the way the cabin was set up and used the grill quite a bit. The view from the back porch is awesome! Saw quite a bit of wild life including what I'm pretty sure was a cotton mouth swimming around on the river. The bed upstairs was super comfortable and we slept like logs. Didn't manage to find the time to break out the fishing poles (we brought our own not realizing the cabin was stocked with poles and various lures and accoutrements). The "driveway" was more than expected (quite steep) but we managed it in a mazdaspeed 3. I definitely recommend the cabin, it has cool vibe to it.
A beautiful getaway
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. Everything you need is there for you to use from cooking and grilling supplies to kayaks, tubes and a paddle boat. We didn't see a single person the whole time we were exploring the property. We are so grateful this family has this cozy cabin for folks to use. We will be back for sure!
Location
Very secluded location! You are unlikely to see any other people unless you want to. The nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away. The last 1/2 mile to the cabin is over a rough dirt road. The final hill to the cabin is very steep. Occasionally, guests have trouble if it is raining or icy. Small (low) cars will make it if the weather is good, but you have to be very careful over the ruts in the road. The river is 116 steps below the cabin. The walk down is amazing, and the climb back up will leave you breathless! :-) Dogs are only allowed for couples with no kids.
