We all loved the house and property!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful and very clean. It had plenty of room for us all. The views were fantastic. The property had lots of trails and the river was beautiful.

The kitchen was fairly well stocked but could have had more bowls and a drink pitcher (which we bought and donated to the house!) and a basting brush for grilling.

Overall everything was fantastic!! We would definitely stay again.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Very nice home in a quiet setting. Having 5 bedrooms with comfy beds was a plus! Great outdoor living space - deck with hot tub and table / chairs and a wonderful fire pit. Wood was available right there for purchase, so couldn't be easier. Very convenient to everything we wanted to do - hiking, fishing, shopping. Also fairly close to the ferry we took over to Burlington, VT. Each room had its own TV, although we didn't really utilize them all that much.

Only suggestion would be to provide more coffee cups (we are big coffee drinkers!)

This stunning vacation home is situated in Wilmington, NY, in the heart of the 6 million acre Adirondack Park.

Wilmington is nestled in the valley of the West Branch of the AuSable River and is home of Whiteface Mountain, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics and where today's top athletes from around the world train and compete.

Whiteface summit, with its unparalleled view, is accessible by Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway, which originates in downtown Wilmington, a 2 minute drive from the home. A visit to the Adirondacks is not complete without a drive to the top! After all, how many other roads lead directly to the summit of a mountain, with gorgeous views spanning hundreds of miles of wild land reaching as far as Vermont and Canada? Nowhere else is the beauty and vastness of the Adirondack Park so evident and easily accessible.

Most of Wilmington is state forest preserve, offering rugged wilderness beauty with access to hiking and mountain biking trails in summer and downhill and cross country skiing, snow shoeing and snowmobile trails in winter. The West Branch of the AuSable River is internationally renown for trout fishing.

Just a 2 minute drive from the home is Whiteface Mountain ski resort. Boasting over 283 acres of skiable terrain, 86 trails and 11 lifts, Whiteface Mountain has the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies and features diverse terrain for beginner skiers and snow boarders, expert glades and slides for the advanced and loads of trails for everyone in between! The longest run is the 2.1 mile 'Wilmington Trail' and total skiing/boarding stretches over 22 miles. Whiteface Mountain is truly fun for everyone! In summer, Whiteface offers splendid views, gondola rides, mountain biking, and more.

Wilmington is also home to picturesque and swimmable Everest Beach, kayak rental, BBQ pits, wooded nature trail and live music throughout summer. The town also has restaurants, a general store, and other conveniences for visitors.

Lake Placid is a beautiful 15 minute drive from Wilmington along NYS Route 86. Wilmington Notch on the way is breathtaking and has been designated part of the Olympic Scenic Byway. Hiking trailheads and beautiful High Falls Gorge are accessible right from the road!

Lake Placid is a charming, all season resort town with a Main Street; unique, locally owned shops; loads of dining options; sporting and cultural events, movie theatre, mini golf and waterfront park where live music is featured weekly during summer. The town also has supermarkets, delis and other conveniences.

Your vacation home is situated in a prosperous community in the Adirondack Park proudly offering 4 seasons of fun and your choice of recreation, sport and cultural activities.

From your doorstep there are NYS maintained hiking and biking trails, waterfalls, swimming and fishing spots and Lake Everest Beach. We invite you to enjoy horseback riding, gondola rides, paddling, guided walks, hunting, rock climbing, white water rafting, mountain biking, boating, and a visit to Santa's workshop.

In Winter there are an incredible array of activities including: downhill and cross country skiing; ice skating; snowmobiling; winter trekking; snow shoeing; tobogganing; ice fishing; ice climbing; sleigh rides; bobsledding; ski jumping; viewing magnificent frozen water falls; and enjoying apres ski at dozens of restaurants bars in Wilmington and Lake Placid.
