Light apartment in convenient area
The apartment is centrally located with convenient access to all that Cape Town offers. Lion's Head is 15 minutes away and the beaches are 20 minutes away. Downtown is 5-10 minutes depending on where you want to go. There are nice views of the bay. It is walking distance to the store and gym. Additionally, there is lots of light and the grounds are well maintained. The apartment contains the basics, so you can do your own cooking. On the downside, two weeks is too long of a required stay, especially without cleaning the apartment and changing the sheets (all offered at similar prices by local guest houses). While there is a washing machine, there wasn't an extra sheet. And because it takes about 2 days for everything to dry, I wasn't able to wash my own sheet. Other things lacking: no screens--which means if you leave the windows open to get some fresh air, the mosquitoes come in--no privacy curtain in the living room--all the workers walking by look inside the apartment; sometimes lots of noise because the apartments are high density and the workers have their garden equipment going during the day; only 4 channels on television--and the local channels are awful--so on the days when it's raining and you're stuck inside, there's not much to do; when I first arrived there were several items needing attention (dirty sheet left behind, handle on washing machine was broken, no toilet paper, bedstand light not working--fortunately the local manager fixed everything the following day; most places provide coffee, tea and cream--none provided; comparably priced guest houses clean and change sheets--that wasn't provided here. Even with all the negatives, I would stay again for a 2 or 3 day period, just not 2 weeks.
