Ski schools, children and skiing: Ski schools: The ESF ski school can be booked in advance. We can also arrange off-piste instruction and guiding.
Children: This is probably the most child friendly resort in the world: Ste. Foy! Ski passes for the under 7’s are free. The well equipped crèche takes those over 3 years and can link up with the ski school so that your children can be entertained and cared for from 9AM to 5PM should you so wish. There is an exceptionally good state registered child minder who will take the under 3’s who lives 5 minutes drive away from the Chalet or we can arrange for childcare at the Chalet.
Skiing: Apart from skiing at Sainte Foy Tarentaise, you can drive to the Espace Killy in 20 minutes at Tignes Les Brévières and to the Les Arc in 15 minutes at Villaroger. Lift Passes: Sainte Foy offers one of the cheapest lift passes in the French Alps. It also allows you a half-price day pass at Val d'Isère, Tignes and Les Arcs and La Rosiere.
Non skiers: Non skiers: Non-skiers are well catered for with facilities for cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, dog-sledding, ice-climbing, ice-fishing, ice-skating and swimming nearby. Or why not just relax on the sunny balcony at the Apartment.
Summer: There are numerous walking and mountain bike routes in the area, to suit all levels of ability. In the peak summer months of July and August, many of the ski lifts in the neighbouring resorts of Les Arcs, Val d’Isère and Tignes are open to cyclists and walkers to allow access to the high mountains. For walkers, we are also very close to the Vanoise National Park with its unique and varied flora and fauna. In addition to walking and mountain biking, there are numerous other activities available within easy reach, including river sports (canoeing, white water rafting, hydro speeding, cannoning), skiing, golf, horse riding, tennis, fishing, bird watching and rock climbing.
We instantly fell in love with Chalet Georgette and have returned several times over the years. It is exceptionally fitted out with all the modern conveniences. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and warm with the bonus of an ensuite to the master bedroom. The dining area easily accomodates 6-8 people and the chalet has been recently decorated throughout and looks lovely
The location of the chalet makes it easy to park, transfer your luggage and settle in. Getting to the ski lift / nursery slopes could not be easier, simply walk approx 80m and you are there!
At the station you will also find all of the facilities you would need within a short walk. There are several ski hire shops and I can recommend Ski Republic and Zig Zags who were knowledgeable and reasonably priced. You will also find a supermarket, bakery, cafe and a few bars and restaurants within a short distance making lunch and apres ski very easy.
Sainte Foy is a truely stunning resort that provides some of the best skiing to be found anywhere but despite the outstanding ski opportunities it is relatively quiet compared to the othe local resorts. If you are new to skiing or a young family the quiet slopes makes Sainte Foy the perfect location where you will be able to enjoy the experience without being swarmed by other skiers. There are several exceptional ski schools on the resort, all of which are multilingual and can be booked as a private or group lesson.
Sainte Foy is also described as ' The place the ski instructors go to play on their day off' and there is a very good reason for this. The powder and off piste skiing is incredible. From the top, Crystal Dark will challenge any experienced skier to test their nerves, as well as the more leisurely red runs that work their way down.
The resort itself holds 4 lifts which span a concave resort. One of the best features of Sainte Foy is that it can accomodate a group with a range of experience. All the runs lead back to central points so you can take different routes down and still stay in contact during the day and easily meet up at the lifts. At the top of the 1st lift, 2 x restaurants make a perfect lunch location but we prefer the cabin at the top of the 2nd lift which offer truely breathtaking views, especially when the sun is out.
Chalet Georgette is the perfect location to enjoy this exceptional resort and once you have been, I guarantee new, intermediate and advanced skiers will return again and again!
We recently stayed at the Georgett for the sixth year running. As always the central location, spacious accommodation and the spectacular views, from dawn to dusk, make it a perfect base from which to enjoy the unique attrations of Sainte Foy.
The appartment is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. We don't think there is a better place to stay in Sainte Foy so we're going back again in the summer and will soon be booking for next winter
We are nestled on the side of the mountain at 1550 metres altitude, close to the slopes and resort centre at Sainte Foy in the Tarentaise valley in the French Alps. We are ideally placed for winter ski holidays at Sainte Foy Tarentaise and the nearby resorts of Val d'Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosiere and for walking holidays, cycling holidays and mountain biking in the summer. The stunning flora and fauna of the Vanoise National Park is just a short drive away. We are a comfortable 10-hour drive from the Channel. If you prefer to fly, Geneva and Lyon airports are 3 hours away, Grenoble 2½ hours and Chambery 2 hours. All airports are served by one of the low cost airlines as well as the national carriers. Eurostar runs direct services from Waterloo or Ashford to Bourg St Maurice during the winter.
