Excellent Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable and clean apartment with excellent facilities. Supermarket, the town, ferry terminal and railway station within a short distance so very convenient if you travel up by train as we did. View over the sea from the front so climbing the stairs to the second floor was well worth it. The local people are very friendly.

I would certainly recommend this apartment.

Owner's Response: Dear June, Thank you for your positive review, it is always a pleasure to receive good feedback. I'm happy that you had a nice time. Sorry about the stairs, without them the view would not be quite as special. Thanks again, Finlay

Five star stay! without hesitation

  • 5 of 5

The flat is absoultely fantastic. All you need is there, even books, table games and toys for the little ones. It really was like being at home. The kitchen is fully equipped and it also has a nice view of mountains that looked gorgeous during the sunset.

You will wake up and go to bed with an amazing view of the sea and Great Cumbrae no matter if it's raining or with clear skies.

The location is also very convenient to take the ferry to Great Cumbrae or to the Isle of Arran or several country parks or historic places. Restaurants and supermarkets are also at a stone's throw.

I strongly recommend the flat without any hesitation.

Glorious Apartment with Breathtaking Views!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment has everything you need. Exceptionally clean and tidy. Beautiful bed linens and a very comfortable bed. Close to Ferries, Trains & Bus! All within a 3 to 5 minute walk. Lots of very good restaurants and pubs close-by also. The owner provided me with excellent customer service. This was my 2nd stay there and I know I will stay here again when I next return to Scotland. I would certainly give this apartment high recommendations!

Lovely flat, great location

  • 5 of 5

Popped over to Largs for a visit to get out of the city for a few nights and this place did not disappoint. Both Finlay (owner) and Marion (who met us with the keys) are very friendly and were happy to help us out. The flat is gorgeous, comfortable, has all the amenities you could need, and has a great view as advertised. It's a short walk from town and from the local train station so you couldn't be better situated. Definitely recommended.

We arrived really late due to bad weather travelling up...so apologies to the lovely key holder for venturing out so late on a horrible night out!!!

...The flat was perfect, in an amazing building and well stocked with all the essentials for that settling in cup of tea...even had a dryer to help us cope with all the wet weather!

...so friendly when booking, this was reasonably last minute!...

....Great value, so central and it gave us a great base for a wedding and nipping over to the islands...I certainly recommend staying here!

Clean and amazing view

  • 5 of 5

Friendly email contact with Finlay, and a kind lady called Marion showed us in. The apartment is very clean, and provides everything you need, and more. The kitchen is well equipped. Waste is recycled.

The view on Cumbrae is great!

We liked the extra luxury of Wi-Fi, satellite channels, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Beds were good.

We went shopping at Morrisons every day for groceries.

Did some nice walks to Greeto Falls and the Knock and along the coast to Fairlie.

In the evening we went out for an ice-cream and strolled along the water.

We highly recommend this apartment.

Largs has long been a preferred vacation destination for Scots wanting to relax. Every conceivable pastime is catered for.

The area is ideal for golf with 2 local courses and over 40 nearby..

Largs is a sailing centre, and the modern marina offers superb facilities, organises courses for all levels, and hosts national races.

From the pier one can board The Waverly, the world's last sea going paddle steamer, and cruise the beautiful islands that abound, or take the short ferry crossing to Cumbrae, where cycling or walking around the island is a local tradition. Cumbrae has wind surfing and diving centres.

Largs and the local area has sandy beaches, there's a sports centre, swimming, bowling, bowls and children's play parks

Largs has a wide selection of friendly pubs and restaurants. Trains/buses 2 minutes walk away connect to Glasgow for those seeking city sophistication.

You can walk the coastal path and surrounding hills, or just sit and enjoy the constantly changing views.

Other Activities: Ideal base for touring Highlands and Islands of Scotland

Golf: Scotland is the home of Golf. Largs is no exception, there are 2 excellent golf courses, where visitors are very welcome. Within 10 minutes one can find another 4 courses at Millport, Skelmorlie, Kilbirnie and West Kilbride. If this isn't enough, within a short drive there are more than 40 other courses, including the historic open courses of Prestwick, Royal Troon and Turnberry. This without going to Glasgow or further afield. There are courses to suit everyone's taste and ability

In the apartment you will find details of all local courses, including costs, phone numbers and how to get there. With careful planning and Scotland's long summer days, it is possible to play 2 courses a day, for your entire vacation, without playing the same course twice.

The apartment is on the second floor, with no lift, so although the accommodation itself is ideal for elderly/infirm clients, one needs to be able to manage the stairs. For similar reasons, although we are quite happy to host children, the sleeping arrangements are one bedroom with double bed, a double sofa bed in the lounge and a child's bed available
