Apartment 7 - Port Soller

Apartment 7 is the same layout as apartment 9 and decor is similar throughout. The views are stunning with the harbour to the front and the ocean from the bedroom. The lounge/dining area has a terracotta clay tiled floor and there is a sofa long enough to sleep on. Full air conditioning, central heating and Wi-Fi. Through large doors you walk straight out onto the terrace with a table and chairs (seating up 4) for al-fresco eating looking straight over the port. The new open plan fitted kitchen with views out to Port has granite work tops with vitroceramic electric hob, dishwasher, wall oven, microwave and a fridge/freezer. Each apartment has one Double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and ample drawer and hanging space There are 2 large windows, 1 with expansive views of the rocky coastline, the other with uninterrupted views of the sea. These apartments offer a beautiful place to stay with unsurpassed views.

These beautiful apartments are located just above Port Soller Harbour, North West Mallorca. The views are stunning with the harbour to the front and the ocean from the bedroom. A double bedroom in each apartment with ample wardrobe space. Apt. 7 has a king size double bed while Apt. 9 has standard twin beds. These apartments offer a beautiful place to stay, a great location close to the restaurants and unsurpassed views.

Surroundings: These apartments offer you an ideal base for a holiday by the sea, for exploring the nearby picturesque town of Soller, for walking into the hills or driving to the wonderful villages and towns of Deia, Valldemossa, Lluc and Palma.

The charm of the Port has been maintained by the fact that it is small and friendly, and has not been over-commercialised. It has some true Mallorcan restaurants serving the local specialities of tumbet (a vegetable/bread soup) and the fresh fish catch of the day or you can visit a number of 5 star establishments and enjoy a culinary feast while watching the sunset.

Soller is a true Mallorcan gem - a bustling town filled with locals and tourists alike - either going about their daily business or sitting in a cafe in the square drinking a coffee while the children run around the fountain.

This area is beautiful - great for families with a fabulous beach, amazing for couples with romantic hideaways and places to explore.

The Apartments: The two beautiful apartments are located in a small block which is only 4 storeys high, thereby staying true to the low rise feel of Port Soller yet enabling the fantastic views that you have from your balcony.

There is a sofa bed in the living room.

The major benefit of staying at Port Soller is the ability to walk to all facilities, the yachts, the restaurants, the beaches, water sports, trips to other coves, food shopping, walks into the hills, an old fashioned tram ride to Soller town or a direct 30 minute bus ride to Palma. You don't need a car to stay here as everything is on your doorstep.

This apartment in quiet and tranquil and yet situated a few seconds walk from a variety of restaurants and cafes, a colourful boat harbour , pedestrianized walk around the full length of the sea shore with bike hire,shops that together make up the vibrant life of the Port Soller. I have two apartments in the same building - both are well equipped and tastefully furnished with sensational views from every window.

Fabulous stay

We had a wonderful time at flat 7 at Port de Soller. The flat is well equipped and has beautiful views over the sea and marina. We also had sea views from the west facing bedroom where sunsets are not to be missed! We were grateful that the flat had aircon as it was very hot in our 2nd week there. The flat is located up a small hill and is only a few minutes walk to the beach and the shops. The main bus stop is around 10 min walk from the flat on a large round about just outside the town. We had originally planned to hire a car but were glad we didn't in the end as there are limited parking spaces in the port area especially in busy August. Be aware that most streets seem to be resident parking only. We found bus services to be very good & cheap: hourly to Palma (only 35 min away via the Soller tunnel). There is also a slower bus to Palma that travels via the beautiful coast and will take you to Deia & Valdemossa. The area around Soller is lovely and littered with pretty traditional Mallorcan villages. Port de Soller itself is located around a scenic bay with many bars and restaurants. It's a laidback place and although popular with visitors, we found it was small enough to be the perfect place to relax. Staff in restaurants are friendly and most speak English. We had an amazing time and I would not hesitate to recommend this property. It was clean, airy, spacious with plenty of storage and the owner was friendly, helpful and quick to answer any questions. Possibly the best holiday flat we ever had.

Five Star View!

My second stay in Apt No. 7 (first time in 2011) and the view is still perfect. I have now holidayed in 5 different properties in Soller/Port de Soller since 2010 and this is my favourite. If you only need a one bedroom property this ticks all the boxes for views and facilities. The apartment building itself is not the prettiest to look at from the outside but the views from the balcony are amazing and being on the third floor you have the major advantage of a view of the open sea from the bedroom at the back, which you won't get from any apartments on the lower floors - or many apartments in general in the Port. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to climb to the apartment and it's uphill to the building from the Port, but as long as you don't have any real health issues, it's worth it! It's true there is no parking at the apartment but as we were there on a walking holiday we made use of the wonderful Pierre's taxi service (Judy can provide his details) and the local transport which is brilliant. Not only do you have 2 different bus routes into Palma, but also the old tram that runs between the Port and Soller (6 Euros now but still worth it at least once) and then the old train line from Soller to Palma. Plus the taxis which will take you around locally at decent rates. If you do hire a car there is parking nearby. The apartment is equipped with everything you would need for a holiday, including a washing machine if needed. The bedroom is large and airy with a very comfortable bed and good storage space. It also has a nice sized bathroom and the kitchen facilities include an oven, hob, microwave and large fridge freezer. And there is WiFi! Although we didn't need to use anything there are a number of wall heaters and portable fans. The sun hits the balcony in time for a lovely breakfast and stays on the balcony until the afternoon and whilst it was too chilly for the first couple of days we enjoyed evening meals outside during the second half of the week. It's a great spot for people and boat watching whilst you are high enough up not to feel like anyone is watching you! The Port itself has a laid back, friendly atmosphere with plenty of restaurants and other facilities. And the area is superb for walking - with some amazing views. We also hired a Vespa for one day which was great fun! I fully recommend Port de Soller and this apartment and will be back again soon!!

Location, Location, Location!

A very comfortable spacious apartment with an amazing view from the balcony, where we spent every spare minute we had. The scene of the port/harbour below us and the mountains all around the bay was just stunning. Port De Soller is a delightful port, and has a very relaxing feel. The whole area is very pretty with good public transport connections to Palma and other places of interest.

One thing that I do feel should be highlighted, is a mention of all the stairs to be climbed up to the apartment. It was not too much of a problem for us as we are reasonably fit, but for a person with restricted mobility this would be a major issue.

As for recommending the apartment to a friend. It would be a definite Yes1

Aussicht, Aussicht, Aussicht!

Auf den Hafen und die Stadt Puerto de Sóller und auf das Meer und die Felsenküste. Wir konnten uns fast nicht satt sehen und haben den geräumigen Balkon sehr viel benutzt. Wir genossen die schöne Lage in dem gemütlichen Stadtteil Santa Catalina: sehr ruhig ohne Verkehr, kleinen Supermarkt drei Gehminuten entfernt (frisches Brot für das Frühstück) und am Abend eine grosse Auswahl von schönen Restaurants. Nach langen Wanderungen in der Umgebung war es auch manchmal entspannend selbst zu kochen, was unproblematisch war in der gut ausgestattenen Küche. Die ersten Tage war das Watter recht kalt - die Wohnung liess sich aber gut heizen, sehr gemütlich. Und dann gibt es richtige Deckbette wie wir sie aus Dänemark kennen? Jedes Jahr reisen wir eine Woche im Winter nach Mallorca – wir kehren gerne zu dieser Wohnung zurück!

Zimmer mit Aussicht

Das Apartment bietet eine fantastische Aussicht auf den Hafen von Soller vom Balkon des Wohnzimmers und direkten Meerblick inclusive Sonnenuntergang vom Schlafzimmerfenster. Es ist gemütlich eingerichtet und verfügt über eine gut funktionierende Heizung. Parkmöglichkeiten sind in der Nahe. Nur ein paar Schritte entlang einer malerischen Gasse befindet sich ein Laden, und im Anschluss daran liegen etliche landestypische Cafés und Restaurants. Wir - Ehepaar Ende 40 - haben den Urlaub hier sehr genossen.

Spectacular Views

I have stayed at the apartment 3 times now and find it to be wonderfully furnished with the most spectacular views of the port, mountains and the sea. I stay for an extended amount of time and find that the apartment has everything I could need. The balcony is a very tranquil place to sit with a view of the entire port. You will not be disappointed by your stay.

A relaxing holiday is assured, gazing at boats gliding in and out of the harbour, people watching by the water or in the cafes of the square of Soller. Relaxing on the beach or following one of the many picturesque paths in the Sierra de Tramuntana mountain range that surround the lovely Soller valley. The waterfront at the Port is lined with pavement restaurants and bars offering local wines, holiday cocktails and a delicious variety of cuisines. Situated close to the apartments, the Santa Catalina restaurants offer a rich variety of speciality Mallorcan dishes. The Port of Soller is set in a natural horse-shoe bay and is the perfect setting for any holiday. At one side of the bay you have the harbour with its mix of fishing boats and yachts, as well as the as well as the larger boat which takes you around to the beautiful small bay of Sa Colobra. At the other side of the bay you have the golden sandy beach of Repic which is the idea place for sunbathing or taking a swim. Heaven!
