The many tourist attractions in the area are all within a short drive. Beaches, distilleries, golf courses, castles and RSPB reserves.
The accommodation comprises an entrance hall with slate floor, a well equipped kitchen / dining room with beamed ceiling and slate / oak flooring. Nature and bird watching: The local area is rich in both bird and animal life, the Cromarty Firth is a haven for migrating wildfowl and waders in the spring and autumn. The firth also plays host to bottle-nose dolphins and various dolphin watching trips set sail from Cromarty and Inverness. They can also be viewed from Chanonry Point on the Black Isle. From April to September Ospreys fish along the foreshore of Nigg Bay adjacent to the cottage. The owners also have a small bird hide at the bottom of their garden that you are free to use when you are staying at the cottage.
The RSPB also have birde hides located at Nigg and Udal bays. www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/n/niggbay/index.aspx

This partner has demonstrated and is committed to fast response times, the best rates, and a great guest experience.
I have lived in the area most of my life and have lived in my own house which is adjacent but detached from Osprey Cottage for more than 30 years.
I am a self employed joiner and work locally.
Allan or Shona Macdonald purchased this cottage in 2005
The cottage was originally a substantial stone outbuilding and at the time there were very few self catering cottages in the local area. As we have always chosen self catering holidays we decided to give it a go and renovate and extend the cottage to make it what it is today.
Beautiful cottage. Weather was kind to us and we managed to go out every day. Wonderful scenery.
Distilleries warmed us up on the colder days.
Cottage was in a great location and was exactly as advertised. If I could change anything it would be the bed as we found it soft but that is a personal preference. Lots of information and places to visit.
This property was as good as ever with a good supply of treats for us on arrival. The only negative was that the parking space allocated to the cottage was under some silver birch(?) trees which were dropping a glue-like substance onto the car with the result that we had to visit the local carwash several times to get rid of it.
We were really impressed with this cottage. Very clean and very welcoming on arrival and very comfortable. Lights and heating were on so it was warm and cosy. Nice added touch was the milk in the fridge and the biscuits crisps and bottle of wine that had been left for us. Beautiful views out of the back window and we used the bird hide regularly. Would recommend this cottage to everyone.
This beautiful cottage in Invergordon area is a "gem". Beautifully decorated, immaculately kept, spacious and very comfortable with everything you need to enjoy your stay, the kitchen is extremely well equipped with instructions for using every appliance. On the shores of the Firth or Cromarty with its own private bird blind for bird lovers. The MacDonald's are very gracious hosts and have provided all the information one needs to enjoy the surrounding areas to the fullest. We especially appreciated the welcoming treats and starters!
We stayed at Osprey Cottage for one week. We have been to Scotland many times
and stayed in lovely cottages but we think that Osprey Cottage is the most beautiful one we have stayed in. The cottage is very spacious and every room is beautifully furnished. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard and the walk in shower in the bathroom is absolutely fantastic. It is ideally situated to visit the most northern part of Scotland. We have had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay and even the weather was kind to us. It was our first stay at the cottage and we have already recommended it to our family and friends.
Super nette Vermieter, reibungsloser Ablauf, ruhiges sehr sauberes und modernes Haus. Original schaut besser aus wie die Fotos. Sehr großzügig ausgestattete Küche. Ideal für Paare.
