Luxurious & bright one bedroom apartment

Luxurious and bright one bedroom apartment. The apartment is located beside the Jardin Alsace Lorraine, just off Boulevard Gambetta. The beach is within a 5 minute walk from the apartment and the pedestrian zone with plenty of restaurants only a short walk away.

The property is located on the first floor, there is lift access and stair access. The apartment is newly renovated, bright and stylish. When you walk into the apartment it has a large open plan living room and kitchen. Off the living room is the bedroom, beside which is the bathroom and separate toilet. Remote controlled air conditioning units are in the bedroom and living room. There is a Playstation 3 console in the apartment and also Netflix. The terrace has a bistro set, it is nice to sit out in the evening watching the sun go down with a glass of wine!

Linen and towels are provided.

This is an ideal pad from which to explore everything Nice has to offer.

From the airport you can take the number 99 bus, it stops just before Alsace Lorraine thus making the apartment easily accessible. Taxi is another option.

Outside the apartment there is metered car parking on the street which costs approx €1.30 per hour between 9am -12noon and 2pm - 6pm (Monday to Saturday). There is also a covered car park on Rue St. Philippe called Parking Palmeira.

Things to do in Nice:-:

* Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix - 25th May 2017 to 28th May 2017.

* Nice Carnival - 17th February 2018 to 3rd March 2018.

* The Nice Flower market runs almost every morning on the Course Selaya (be there early)

.* Vieux Nice (Old Nice) - narrow streets with plenty of historic architecture to boutique shopping.

* Rue de France (pedestrian zone) is a hub of activity. This is the place if you need to load up on souvenirs. Street entertainers frequent this area. There are gourmet shops, clothing shops, news stands, book stores and more.

* Le Musée Masséna.

* Day trips to Cannes, Monaco and Italy by train or bus.

* The Colline du Château (Castle Hill) - overlooks the city of Nice.

* Port of Nice.

* Phoenix Parc.

* Petite train.

great stay with slight reservations

The apartment is in a great location for easy access to all parts of this great city.The apartment itself is well equipped but hardly "luxurious". The decor is very tired with poorly painted huge expanses of blue walls everywhere! I would suggest that a little more care with the paint and a picture or two on the bare walls would lift it 100%.

I was also surprised to find no instructions at all about the apartment. For example, where do you put the rubbish? How do you work the washing machine? Such things are very useful to new guests and when I couldn't get the television to work there was nothing that could be done to remedy the situation. The agent, Dorine, was very helpful and obliging but I think the owners could take a little more interest.After all, these places do not come cheap.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review of the apartment and we wish to reply for clarification purposes to the points you made: We note your comments about the blue walls but the pictures on our advertisement clearly show all the walls to be blue so we feel this is an unfair comment as it is not as if the pictures on the site where blue and you arrived to find yellow walls. We will add paintings/pictures to the rooms this year as this would enhance the room as suggested. We have asked our agent about your query about where to put the rubbish and she is confident that this was pointed out to you on your arrival. The instructions for the washing machine are actually on the washing machine and no other guest has had any issues using the washing machine. In relation to the television not working on your day of arrival we (not our agent) emailed you instructions of how to use the television on the day of your arrival and we did not receive a response back so we assumed all was ok. It ended up that the code needed to be reset on the viewing card but when our agent offered to call and reset it via a call to the cable company you replied by email to her saying it was not an issue. Given the fact that everything was done by ourselves and our agent to rectify this and you stating it was ok we feel it unfair to bring that into an open forum for a review.

nice apartment and good location

We had a good stay at this apartment. The apartment was nice and clean and everything was just as in the description. The location is great, its in a quiet neighbourhood and its about 2 km form the old town and the main shopping street and 500 m to nearest beach. There is a really nice restaurant in the building.

Great location Rue Caffarelli Nice

We spent almost 3 weeks in this apartment Rue Caffarelli -this was our 3 stay in this apartment and hopefully we will return there in 2013 ..We were very happy with everything -It was very clean and well maintained, comfortable and even better this year with the new air conditioning system which works extremely well. The apartment is well located near a Park, great restaurants and beach. and a short walk from the beautiful Marche des Fleurs ,Old Nice and Port on a bus route from Nice Airport . I have recommended this property to my family and friends.

Good, but no aircondition

We had a very nice time in Nice and the apartment was as expected, except for a few things. One was the cleaning, we spent 2 hours on the arrival day to clean the apartment.

The other thing was the air-conditioning. Air-condition was one of the criteria when we search for an apartment and we did not expect to find this portable thing.

It was absolutely impossible to use it, you need to have the door open to use it, and even if we put the drain outside it was still leaking water all over the floor, it was so noisy and in the small bedroom it was not possible to go around the bed with door open and the aircondition inside.

If we had known this, the apartment had not been on our list when we searched for apartments.

Otherwise everything was good and specialy the agency in Nice was very helpful.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review for our apartment. We did have portable air conditioning units but unfortunately the Holiday-Rentals website only allowed us to tick a box that either said yes or no to air conditioning in the apartment. However that being said we are pleased to say that in mid September we invested €3,000 in a new state of the art air conditioning units in the bedroom and living room which will lead to a more enjoyable stay for future renters.

All good really

Property was as described. Everything worked properly as we'd expect it to. It was clean, linen, etc was provided as promised. The lady who met us (Veronica) was lovely, very helpful with everything we asked for.

All in all, met all our expectations so we were very happy.

The apartment is in a quiet area with restaurants, cafes and supermarkets only stones throw away. If you walk down Victor Hugo Boulevard you will arrive at the main shopping street (Avenue Jean Medecin), here you can hop on the tram which leads to Nice Port. The prom/beach is a 5 min walk from the apartment.

The busy pedestrian zone is about a 6 min walk from the apartment where you will find many restaurants which will fill your appetite.

The Old Town is within a 10 min walking distance where you will find narrow streets with an array of different shops. The train station Gare Sncf on Ave Thiers is about 0.5 km from the apartment which will take you to Cannes and Monaco.
