Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday farmhouse in Mogliano - Casa Santa Lucia

4 Bedrooms (all en-suite), private pool, small vineyard and glorious location.

Casa Santa Lucia is a beautifully restored stone farmhouse set in 10 acres, with its own wood, vineyard and landscaped gardens, between the hilltop towns of Mogliano and Petriolo, ensuring a peaceful, panoramic spot to enjoy a stay in the idyllic Italian countryside. Surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields, the spacious house offers fantastic views from every window taking in the vine & olive-studded strolling hills, and perfectly kept hilltop stone villages. Recently renovated by local artisans, the property has 4 bedrooms all with ensuites, luxury kitchen dining room and high quality furnishings throughout, ensuring a relaxing stay for everyone. The tiled swimming pool and wrap-around portico are perfect for outdoor summer fun, relaxing and dining, with sun all day long. Guests can relax in total comfort whilst still being only minutes away from all local amenities. The house is ideally located 25 mins from the beach and, 45 mins from the ski slopes of the Sibillini Mountains.

The Region - Le Marche: Marche is an amazing combination of beautiful rolling countryside, mountain ranges, woodland, ancient hilltop villages, stunning coastline and beautiful cities. Marche offers the traveller a wealth of culture, art, crafts, excellent local cuisine & wines (to be tasted at the local vineyards), beautiful scenery and being fairly undiscovered you will rarely be faced with the crowds associated with Tuscany. The list of villages, towns and cities worth seeing is endless where you can visit the numerous historic attractions or simply roam the narrow streets and beautiful piazzas. For the traveller who simply enjoys soaking up the local atmosphere Marche is certainly the place. For those wishing to take part in more energetic activities, the region offers it all - skiing, walking, golf, aqua parks, tennis, horse riding, twin-engine go karting, quad biking, hot air ballooning, fishing, sailing and scuba diving, to name a few. If you are planning to just relax, then Casa Santa Lucia is perfect

Local Area & Amenities: There are shops, supermarkets, banks, numerous restaurants & bars, bakeries and butchers, in the local hilltop towns of Mogliano and Petriolo. There are many other medieval villages and towns nearby with lovely restaurants, gelateria, architecture, historic places to see and summer festivals. Each of these local villages have a market day providing plenty of chances to stock up on local cheeses, meats, breads, olives, wines etc. Mogliano boasts a fantastic week long festival in late June/early July. The festival includes dancing, music, re-enactments from 1744 around the town and to end the whole event a spectacular firework display to music. At Civitanova Marche there are many designer outlets for a little retail therapy. Macerata, the atmospheric provincial capital, is within 20km offering sophisticated shopping and a market, restaurants, historic sights and the 'World Famous' outdoor opera.

Further Information: The Monti Sibillini National Park is a nature reserve covering 60,000 hectares spread over the Sibillini mountain range, this area of natural beauty which offers breath-taking walking for all enthusiasts. Mountain lakes, waterfalls, deep gorges, woodlands and ancient monasteries are just some of the delights of this area. Organised walks and mule treks are available. The well-known Grotte di Frasassi (Frasassi caves) are one of the most complex karst systems in Italy. The caves offer an underground world of lakes, beautiful transparent alabaster formations, vaulted caverns and stalactites suspended like daggers. Guided tours are available. There is a full information pack and guides, with a listing of all local amenities, festivals, markets, beaches, vineyards, and other activities for the Le Marche region in the house. Further assistance can be obtained through our local representative if you have any problems or queries. We will do all we can to make your holiday simply fantastic.

Dear Simon,

Please believe, that your charming house Casa Santa Lucia, is exactly what we are looking for (may be ) in the coming years…!

The location and the choice of materials , plants outside and pool, everything is coherent and tasteful all over. We loved it from the first minute!

But for sure, we have all enjoyed the time in Mogliano and relaxed as much as desired .

Thank you for all Simon.

Our kindest regards to you and your wife.

Absolutely stunning Villa, photographs do not do it justice. Beautifully finished with everything that you could need. Panoramic views of the surrounding area from the veranda are beautiful, it was lovely to sit out in the evening and just enjoy the scenery. The entire Le Marche region is stunning, lovely little beaches and amazing fish restaurants were the highlight. We really enjoyed a drive into the mountains where we spent the day at a beautiful lake and also went to the Opera Festival in Macerata.

The owner communicated very well and ensured that we had a travel cot and high chair as requested.

We would love to return to the region and would have no doubt in returning to this property.

First class family holiday rental

  • 5 of 5

We booked the Casa Santa Lucia for a week mid June 2011. The booking process, pre visit information pack were faultless. The house was spotless, and seriously well maintained. This is a beautiful house, fitted out with top quality appliances and furniture. The swimming pool, views over the valley, garden could not be bettered. There were 6 of us, aged 65 to 20 months, and no-one had anything but praise for the whole set up. Well done, Simon and Julia, you have set a new standard for holiday rentals!

Enjoyed our stay at this excellent house

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay recently (Aug 09) at this wonderful house. The owners were very helpful during the booking process and when we arrived we found the house beyond expectation! The house is very well furnished and equipped to a high standard. The whole house was clean, beds comfortable and the en suite "wet room" bathrooms are great. The pool was the perfect temperature in the heat of August and we enjoyed dining outside. Cooking in the excellent and well equipped kitchen was a delight (as much as cooking on holiday can be!).

The owners supplied a very detailed information pack which contained, amongst other things, restaurant recommendations. We tried a couple of the local restaurants and were not dissapointed.

As the house is fairly near the beaches at Porto San Giorgio we visited one of our favourite beach spots in the area where the beaches are beautiful, uncrowded and the sea is an ideal temperature.

Overall this is a great house and one we would both highly recommend and consider returning to on our next visit to Le Marche.

Our visit 15-22 August 2009

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely relaxing week at this luxurious villa. It was so nice it was hard to tear ourselves away to visit elsewhere but we did manage to visit the Italian winemaker of the year 2008, Dezi, and to visit Fermo for the evening market and the Roman Cisterns (both highly recommended).

We recommend this villa wholeheartedly and would love to return ourselves.

Better than home!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in many Italian properties, of varying quality, but this one ranks as one of the best. It benefits from being brand new, therefore everything is in tip-top condition and spotlessly clean (with one or two little details still to be completed), but also great thought has gone into its design - it's very stylish but also very welcoming and easy to live in (and that was for up to 8 adults). Preparing meals from local produce in the fabulous kitchen was an absolute pleasure.

We loved the area - very unspoilt, with lots of beautiful hill-top villages, and the real bonus was that we didn't hear another English voice all holiday (apart from those who came to tend the house).

If you want a quiet place to which to escape and relax in "real Italy", it's almost perfect! Once settled in, you will probably find it hard to tear yourself away from the house and pool (and beautiful views).

Communicating (we used email and texting) with the owner, who was extremely helpful, right from the very first enquiry until after our return to England was very easy and efficient.

The rolling green hills of Le Marche.

  • 5 of 5

Amazing house, such a spectacular setting, so relaxing & peaceful, the pictures on the website look great…but nothing prepares you for the beautiful views. Our days were spent relaxing by the pool or exploring the nearby towns of Petriolo and Mogliano then watching the dazzling sun sets over them in the evenings, fantastic! A really lovely week spent in this gorgeous villa. All home comforts appreciated a real home from home! Would definitely come back to Le Marche - much more to explore and enjoy. We can’t wait to go back

Casa Santa Lucia is a 5 min drive from Mogliano, and 10 mins from Petriolo, beautiful hill top towns. The house is just 25 mins from the blue flag beaches of the Adriatic coast, Porto San Giorgio, a pretty medieval fishing town with sandy beaches has some fantastic fish restaurants. Our house is 45 mins from the Sibillini Mountain range, national park & ski slopes. A Franciscan monastery, Abbadia di Fiastra, is ten minutes away, with walks and cycle tracks. The historic city of Macerata which holds open-air opera festival during July and August, and also has a busy shopping area, with museums and galleries which is only 25 minutes by car. The surrounding area is hilly, with a village or small town capping each hill, each with its own distinctive character and history. Casa Santa Lucia is perfectly positioned to explore the region. We are located 50 mins from Ancona Airport, and 90 mins from Pescara airport.
