An attractive cottage in a very peaceful rural area not far from the historic town of Cluny and the religious village of Taize. A small village a mile away provides most basic needs.
The cottage enjoys a very peaceful location with panoramic views and is very private . The 12m swimming pool is a bonus for summer users (but not heated).
A former farm building the cottage has a king sized bed on a mezzanine floor with large fitted cupboards. Downstairs is a fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons. A passage with fitted cupboards houses the fridge and washing machine amongst other things, and the adjacent bathroom has both bath and separate shower, as well as WC and washbasin.
Beyond is the living room, with folding patio doors and an enormous old bread oven (not in use !). The sofa doubles up as a very comfortable double bed. There is a Sat TV withintegrated DVD player and free WLAN.
Fantastic beautifully restored cottage - lovely owner who has developed these former farm buildings into a real home from home. Very well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Very spacious sleeping mezzanine and comfortable sitting room with satellite TV. Wonderful accommodation with the added bonus of a lovely swimming pool adjacent to cottage and main house.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Richard's cottage. He was a perfect host , there when you needed him but not intrusive. The cottage is well equipped and the swimming pool a great asset. We particularly liked being able to eat out on the terrace suttounded by attractive gardens. Cluny itself is a great town to visit and the surrounding countryside has something for most people. We would have no hesitation in coming to this cottage for another stay.
Met by Richard who was great host, his holiday home was even better than its description and far exceeded our expectations. The large pool was an added bonus, but rather chilly after the recent spell of cool weather in this part of France. The views are fabulous.
It is well situated for visits to Cluny, Joncy, Taize, Cormatin, Brancion, but the local villages and hamlets are a delight in themselves.
Fantastic value for money, too. Well recommended.
Spent the last 2 weeks at this wonderful gite. The location is idyllic with great views in every direction. Amenities only a 30min walk or 10 min car drive away. The gite was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. It was clean and comfortable and had high quality equipment. Richard the owner was very friendly and helpful. We would love to return.
"Had a lovely week here.....very comfortable and quality accommodation, in a very beautiful and peaceful setting. Fantastic pool, and loved watching the wildlife....saw a hare in the drive! Lots to do and see, and particularly enjoyed the walks
locally....Salornay sur guy has some well marked and enjoyable country walking trails from the centre of the village. Owner Richard was very kind and considerate and gave us plenty of space. and shared his homegrown tomatoes and courgettes too! Just the week we wanted. Maggi and Colin Stewart. Cambs UK
A wonderful stay with a lovely friendly welcome. Superbly equipped kitchen and very comfortable lounge area. The bedroom was much larger than the photograph portrays. Lovely pool area just for the two of us. We would highly recommend.
The historic towns of Cluny and Taize are nearby, with Macon, Beaune and Dijon within easy distance. Being one of the most famous wine regions in France there are a number of 'wine routes' discovering the delights of the grape. The area also offers plenty of sight seeing with numerous historical sites and famous Chateaux in the area with Cormartin being one of the closest. Or bike or roller skate down the 74k length of the old disused train track that runs through the stunning Burgundy countryside. Then come back to the cottage and relax by the pool.

Other Activities: There are numerous historical sites to see and a tour of the wine region is a must !
