A large family home close to beach, restaurants, Ritz-Carlton & Whole Foods!

Naples is all about the beach and we offer the best value within walking distance to Vanderbilt Beach and nearby Delnor Wiggins beach (voted #3 of top 10 beaches by Dr. Beach!). Don't get stuck miles from the beach, stay in our spacious 4 bedroom villa. We have everything you need for a great family vacation. Save money by dining in, the kitchen is well equipped for serving 8 guests and America's best grocery store, Whole Foods, is within 2 blocks. Or walk or bike to any of dozens of restaurants ranging from inexpensive but inventive eateries to haute cuisine at the Ritz-Carlton and Turtle Club overlooking the beach. The floor plan features a master bedroom off it's own hall, with a king bed and ensuite bath. Off their own separate hall are a second bedroom with a queen bed, a third with two twin beds, and a second full bath with soaking tub and shower. The fourth bedroom is furnished as a TV room but also has a full hide-a-bed. The large screened lanai looks south on a garden of tropical foliage. Why Cate and Peter Goodin (Owners) chose North Naples

We custom designed and built this home in 1999. It is an easy walk or bike ride to Vanderbilt beach. There is also a parking garage located at Vanderbilt Beach. Just up the road is wonderful award winning Delnor-Wiggins State Park Beach, a natural preserve beach. We supply 8 beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach toys and information booklets of lots of things to do nearby.

What makes this house unique

Naples has 11 miles of beautiful public beaches, easy to get to from our house. And we are close to wonderful Corkscrew Audubon Sanctuary, the SW Florida Nature Conservancy, TenThousand Island National Park, and area great shopping. Peter is a nature guide and can suggest many trips here for birding and nature lovers. When possible we also offer free boat rides to Keewaddin Island, only reachable by boat, a nature island, the 'real' Florida!

Thanks for all the information you provide in the house about all the fun things to do and see. We enjoy how close the beach is and the neighbors are very nice. We will be back next year.

Home near the beach, restaurants

This is a spacious 3 bedroom home in Naples Park/ Vanderbilt Beach area. It is 2 blocks from the Mercado shopping/dining complex and 4 or 5 blocks to the beach. It was quiet and had a kitchen, 2 full baths and large living/dining area. The owner was available to assist or provide info if needed. We liked the nearby beach and restaurants in the Mercado complex and surrounding area, We will stay here again.

Poor standard of Cleanliness and Maintenance

This property was clearly suffering from negligible maintenance and a poor standard of cleaning.

The tidy, grassed, frontage shown in the photographs disappeared some time ago. Now there is a patch of dirt, overgrown shrubbery, damp moss growing above the entrance and a scruffy, dirty and uninviting front door.

Lighting is needed to do anything indoors, at any time of the day. The building is surrounded by over-sized plants and the rear yard is seriously overgrown. This makes the lanai dark all day. The rear yard is another patch of dirt.

A serious concern is the state of the air conditioning. The amount of dirt spread around the outlets indicates a lack of cleaning but also that the filters have probably not been replaced in a long time. This is not helped by the dirt accumulating on the top of the fan paddles.

Equally concerning was the appalling state of the stove top extract filter and the fact that the oven had not been cleaned.

The kitchen and bathrooms have cupboards and drawers full of junk, rubbish and left-overs from previous visitors. There was a collection of part-used sauce bottles in the refrigerator and a dry goods cupboard full of unused and part-used items; all of dubious quality, vintage and cleanliness.

The master bath is in real need of refurbishment. The grouting in the shower stall is dirty and cracked/missing – from which a plague of flies arrives every morning.

All the windows needed cleaning, as did the slats of the blinds. The internal walls and doors were covered with grubby finger marks and this was especially apparent on the doors from the lanai and the walls around the kitchen.

A lot of the furniture was grubby/dirty; the desk chair in the den was broken; the seat covers in the den were dirty as were all the seat cushions on the lanai.

The kitchen is well equipped but a lot of the crockery was chipped/cracked and nothing really felt clean. The chopping boards were unhygienic as were the pot holders and tea towels.

On the lanai the table was caked with dirt – hiding under grubby place-mats. The sun loungers were in a disgusting condition.

Cleaning everywhere has been superficial for some time; ledges, base boards and corners were caked in dirt, especially behind doors. There had been no cleaning under/behind furniture in the master bedroom and there was a large stain on the underside of the comforter.

The vacuum cleaners were dirty and one was packed with dirt.

The garbage cans needed a really good clean.

Owner's Response: This review is written by someone who stayed for one month with NO complaints. It is shocking given that ALL our reviews have been 5 star and 4 stars on all four of our vacation rental homes. It is a complete anomaly and falsehood! We are always praised about the cleanliness, excellent condition of our home and all the amenities we provide. We are surprised that this guest had so many complaints with our home for the month that he stayed there....however we NEVER heard from this guest at all during his stay, despite our four emails encouraging him to please contact us with any problems or concerns that he might have. We retain a team of cleaners, landscape maintenance, pest control, AC and appliance maintenance men to quickly address any problems that might arise. We returned his security deposit in full, 5 days after his departure but twice since then he has emailed saying that he expected a "refund against the rental cost". This is very strange since he stayed one month and never contacted us with any problems and is now asking for a "refund against the rental cost". We can only question that he might have a hidden agenda for his misrepresentations! This review is obviously retaliation for our not giving him the rental refund he sought. The guests who came in directly after him have told us that the house is lovely, completely clean and above their expectations and they found NONE of the problems he has described. We want to assure our future guests that these problems did not exist and that we are committed to making sure all of our guests are satisfied and comfortable. We believe that this review says a great deal about this one renter with an agenda and next to nothing about our rental home.

Grear Florida Vacation Awaits

Sandpiper was exactly as described on its web site...clean comfortable,spacious and well equipped. The loungers on the lanai were the perfect place to relax and read. (or nap).The quiet residential neighborhood was easy to navigate on bike or foot It is near grocery stores, Wal Mart, upscale shops, movie theaters, fast food and good restaurants. We enjoyed visiting nearby Delnor Wiggins State Park. It has convenient rest rooms, shaded picnic tables, and during the week , few people.

Sandpiper even comes with beach chairs and toys, beach towels and picnic cooler. Cate and Peter have thought of everything to make our vacation carefree. I would recommend Sandpiper to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation in the South Florida sunshine.

The best rentable house we could ever find

For Many years we do spend holidays in Naples Park. We found since 5 years the right place with the right owners. We are very fussy on every thing as we are runniing in France rentals.

Comfortable, well equipped and highly recommended!

A lovely, comfortable and well equipped home in a quiet street with good access to Vanderbilt Beach and only a short-drive from the centre of Naples.

My family of five (ages 46 to 15) had a great time staying at Sandpiper. We managed to fit in a number of nature reserves (including the Audobon Society's 'Ding' Darling reserve (up on Sanibel Island) and Corkscrew Swap Sanctuary), stroll the beautiful streets of Naples, take a boat-trip along the Gordon River, watch Dolphins from Vanderbilt beach, lose a day to the Mall and generally have a wonderful time.

The house had everything we needed (and, in fact, plenty more including bikes and a barbecue) and was clean on arrival and comfortable throughout our stay. Homeowners Cate & Peter have been great to deal with too; it's so nice to deal with good people!

All in all, Sandpiper is wholeheartedly recommended!!!
