This luxury top floor apartment is on two levels and forms part of a new build chalet with an elevator situated in a quiet, prime location at the top of the nursery slope, making it ski-in/ski-out whilst only three minutes walk from the centre of Wengen and its railway station. The apartment is bright and welcoming and sleeps up to 8 people. The apartment has been furnished to a very high specification as a home from home and enjoys underfloor central heating and continuous hot water. It has one double room with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and separate bath; a twin room with en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and separate bath; a further twin room; a guest bathroom with bath and integral shower; and a gallery sitting room above with cable TV/Radio/DVD, two double sofa beds, cupboards, and a separate toilet and basin. The main open plan living space has a comfortable sitting area which contains cable TV, radio, DVD, wire free internet and a log fire. The open plan kitchen is extremely well equipped for those who like to cook with a large oven, hob, microwave, two fridges and a dishwasher. All kitchen utensils are first class and the crockery is bone china. The kitchen and large dining table look out across the Lauterbrunnen Valley and lead onto a sheltered balcony with a seating area and excellent views of the Jungfrau mountain range and the Silberhorn. In addition, there is a further balcony off two of the bedrooms with superb views towards the slopes and glacier. There is a ski room in the basement where skis and boots can be stored in the winter and a further bikes and pram storeroom which contains a full sized table tennis table. There is also use of a shared sauna to relax in at the end of a busy day.

Wengen is a traditional Swiss mountain village with spectacular scenery which retains a special atmosphere due to it being accessible only by railway. It is the ideal location for both skiers and non-skiers with skiing for all abilities and hiking trails available all year round. The locals are courteous and friendly and the compact village centre boasts excellent bars and restaurants, a cinema, two supermarkets, a pharmacy, a hotel spa and sports shops for hiring equipment from skis to bicycles. In addition to skiing in the winter, there is ice skating and curling available and plenty of sledding runs. In the summer there are tennis courts, an open-air heated swimming pool close to the apartment and crazy golf. All manner of mountain sports are available in the vicinity from white water rafting to climbing and paragliding. The tourist information office in the village is always extremely helpful.

We were lucky enough to be introduced to Wengen by some friends who had been coming here for years and since then we have been back every year too! We think that Wengen is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it is somewhere that people are drawn back to time and again once experienced. Whether you want to have a venue for outdoor activity or total relaxation it is stunning in both winter and summer and there is something here for everyone.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment enjoys a prime location at the top of the nursery slope so for skiers it is ski-in and out whilst being only three minutes walk from the town centre. It is located in a quiet, elevated position with fabulous views across the valley and mountain ranges with endless hiking trails on the doorstep. The apartment is very quiet, comfortable and relaxing and with two living areas and separate satellite TV boxes you can accommodate different entertainment needs such as adults and teens, for example. The table tennis table and sauna in the basement are available for all Aquila residents and there is a ski room for ski equipment and a store room for buggies and bikes, which can be hired from Centralsport in the village.

We have had a lovely stay in apartment 8, Aquila. There is something for everyone in Wengen, from difficult ski runs for experienced skiers to sledge runs for small children. We would definitely recommend the purple runs. The ski runs and views from Manlichen are very good. Café Almend does excellent rosti and we have had good Gluhwein everywhere!

Incredible Views

Incredible views from both balconies and also inside the apartment. Easy access with the elevator. The apartment was spacious and clean and the bathrooms were well designed. The kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans, utensils, gadgets, and small appliances and we were pleasantly surprised to find two refrigerators. We liked the dedicated washer/dryer in the basement. We stay in many vacation rentals and really appreciate it when the owner/management provide instructions on how to use everything in the apartment along with suggestions for places to visit nearby and this apartment did a great job on this. We arrived in Wengen about 16:30 on a Saturday and had to rush to the Coop Supermarket when we learned they closed at 17:00 and were not open on Sunday. Even though Wengen is pretty remote, we could easily get to all the tourist sites by the frequent trains.

Drinking coffee, wine and having snacks on the balcony while watching the snow capped mountains, waterfalls, and goats/cows with bells was an experience we will remember. We were two couples so there were more bedrooms and bathrooms than we needed. The layouts in the bedrooms and bathrooms were very functional. There is a shared sauna in the basement that we originally had a tough time finding because the door was not labeled and seemed locked because it was so hard to open. We eventually were able to get the door open and use the sauna and it was a nice way to end the day.

This is a wonderful place to stay and we would definitely recommend it.

Excellent apartment.

We travel and vacation frequently throughout the world including our home country USA. Today is my 3rd day of stay along with a total of 8 family members including kids of different ages. I don't usually write reviews but today I have some time and also I think my review may help others. This apartment provided comfort and services for all ages. Very well kept apartment. The location, views and the services provided by property manager are exceptional. Wengen is a nice, scenic, quite little village but provides every thing you need. This is our second visit to the area. The weather has not yet been very good though, but it seems that we will like to stay in the same apartment when we come back for our next visit to Switzerland! Want to thank the owner and manager of the property and would recommended all visitors particularly with families to stay with these folks!

Perfect Retreat for a Healthy Summer Break

A stunning long weekend and if you want to escape then look no further than this beautifully finished apartment within a stone's throw of Wengen town centre. It really was the perfect retreat and was ideally situated for long walks in the mountains and the occasional run. The view from the balcony set the scene and the apartment as a whole was extremely comfortable. It was particularly well configured and allowed us to unwind in an idyllic setting.

Luxurious break in a beautiful resort staying in a stunning apartment

I stayed here the week after the Lauberhorn race. Wengen is a small picturesque resort, easily accessible from Geneva airport by the ever efficient, always on time, Swiss rail network. On arriving I'm sure that we could have got an electric taxi to the apartment, but it was only a 5 minute walk to get there, so we walked. The apartment is extremely well located at the top of the nursery slope and so is truly ski in, ski out (you ski in to within 10 feet and walk 10 feet and you are at the top of the nursery slope for a 30 second run to the Mannlichen cable car). On arrival there is a heated ski room in the basement, where you can hang your boots on the wall allowing warm, dry, supple boots in the mornings - a massive plus. There is a lift to the top floor where the apartment is located. Whilst there were guests staying in the other apartments, the building was quiet and obviously well soundproofed. The apartment itself must be fairly new and is furnished to a very high standard. There are three bedrooms (2 of which are ensuite) and a further large mezzanine room that can sleep more than 2. All the mod cons are to hand, good wifi. The views from the balcony are stunning on a clear day, enticing you up the mountains for some great skiing. Whilst we didn't eat in (there are plenty of great restaurants both up the mountain and in the resort), the kitchen had everything that you would have needed for a self catering break. Other than that the apartment block also boasted a sauna/steam room and a games room, which I didn't use myself, but saw were in use. To be honest, I can't remember the names of the restaurants and bars that we frequented, but wander along the main street and you'll find plenty - we didn't find a bad one. The skiing was suited to all standards, the lifts were good and uncrowded, and the mountain restaurants were fabulous..... don't go expecting to lose weight! We were a group of adult friends, however both the apartment and resort would be equally suitable for families with children. Would I recommend Wengen and this apartment - wholeheartedly yes.

Aquila Apartment Wengen

I have been skiing for a number of years in Wengen and consider this apartment to be one of the finest in the resort. It is extremely well equipped and spacious with 2 families being easily accommodated. It enjoys great views of the Silberhorn and Lauterbrunnen valley by way of its fantastic location at the top of the Figeller nursery slope. This makes it a true ski in/ski out apartment enabling the Mannlichen cable car to be reached in one minute at the beginning of the day. Access to its own boot room avoids having to deal with the congestion at peak times in the village hire shops.

It is always at the top of my list to rent when I ski in Wengen.

Aquila 8/Wengen

We have recently returned from our fantastic Spring ski trip to Wengen.

This apartment is superb. Loads of room, extremely well furnished and kitted out. Our group (2 families with kids under 8) thought it was the perfect home from home for the week. All mod cons and fully (and I mean fully) equipped so we could easily and enjoyably self-cater when we chose not to dine out.

Truly ski in-ski out as the home run and nursery slope run past the door. Perfect at the beginning and end of the day, especially with young kids.

Wengen itself is magical. The views are to die for, the village attractive and compact, friendly and (by Swiss standards) not overly expensive.

For skiers of all abilities the area is great and easily accesible whether by train or the cable car, both of which are only a short ski/walk from the apartment.

I simply cannot fault the apartment or Wengen and look forward to returning next year.
