Nice, quiet getaway
My wife and I had a great week here. The cottage is clean and comfortable. It’s a great jumping off point for visiting West Jefferson, Boone, the Parkway and beyond. We had never been to this part of the state and really enjoyed it. We particularly liked West Jefferson, which is 15-20 minutes away. They have a nice brewery, restaurants, and a cool little movie theater.
The cottage was comfortable. We stayed upstairs so we could open the door to the deck at night. The sound of the river made for nice sleep!
Thanks so much, Gary. You are welcome anytime!
Great Place for a Family Getaway!
We stayed at the Enchanted Cottage for a long weekend. Location is great, approx. 45 minutes to Stone Mountain, 30 minutes to Boone, and 15 to Jefferson/West Jefferson. The house was charming and perfect for our family of 4. Marc was very responsive to any questions that we sent his way and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend.
My husband and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary at this perfect little cottage!
It was a pleasure having you at the cottage, Wanda. Please visit again! - Marc
We enjoyed our stay! We had the most relaxing weekend!
So glad to hear that, Glynus. I do hope you will visit again, soon!
sweet cottage in the mountains
My family of 5 stayed at the cottage and thought the place was very cute and the perfect size/price for our needs. We happened to stay during a cold spell and that made things a little difficult. Upstairs was very cold even with a space heater and the wood stove burning. The heating downstairs was adequate. Once we figured out the codes, we were able to watch movies through the apple tv provided, which eased the cabin fever some. The kitchen space was perfect for making most of our meals. I imagine in warmer months the place would be fantastic. It's close to many great hiking spots right off the parkway. We did enjoy some snow tubing at Hawksnest, but it was too cold for us to hike nearby. We also enjoyed Jefferson and had a good meal there. Marc was a great host and responded quickly whenever we had a question/need.
Our stay was 12/28-1/4 and we enjoyed the cabin. There were 4 adults and there was only a love seat and a rocking chair. We brought another rocking chair from the bedroom but another sofa/love seat would have been wonderful. We took day trips to Mt. Airy, NC (where The Andy Griffith's show was filmed), snow tubing in Boone, Blowing Rock. The owner was only a phone call or text away. Thanks Marc!!
