Self-catering apartment close to beaches. Views are outstanding. Family owned. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Large open-plan living space with fully fitted refurbished kitchen, dining and sitting area. Recently fitted dishwasher. Wood burning stove for those late and early season romantic breaks. Four steps to bedrooms and bathrooms with bath plus showers and washing machine/tumble drier. Fittings refurbished. Bedrooms have fully fitted wardrobes with drawers. Fans provided.

Playas de Fornells has restaurants and supermarkets as well as a bar and local mini shop. There are swimming pools attached to bars usable all day for the price of drinks and snacks. Buses and taxis available easily. Short walk to a local BBQ restaurant and the beautiful fishing village of Fornells.

All water sports nearby, sailing, swimming, sail boarding, diving, boat hire, excursions by boat. Cycling, walking, fishing and bird watching (feathered) and golf all short distance. The island has many tourist attractions and evening entertainment available.

LOCAL ASSISTANCE: Saran Propiedades provide our local support. Their office is located across the road and to the left of the apartment, as you leave the front door, at Local No 7, Tramontana I (at the end of the colonnade across the road).

The office is open on Monday – Friday from 10.00 to 13.00 and in the post-siesta period and on Saturdays in high season - check opening times on door of office where details of an emergency out-of-hours contact number will also be found.

Messages for you can be left with them - there is no phone in the apartment, but a reasonable mobile signal is available on the front terrace.

Saran will assist with any problems you may encounter and also have a key to the apartment in case of emergency.

AT THE APARTMENT: Always lock the front door and close the shutters when leaving the apartment. Although a safe and friendly island, summer visits from thieves have been known.

Behind the front door are the electric mains switches. Throw the mains switch for everything to come on, but individual switches are labelled in case of difficulty. If the fridge does not come on, check the socket switch behind it.

The cleaners should have moved the balcony furniture out onto the balcony, and the sun loungers out to the front patio (loungers marked K4). Please bring in covers when you go out and at night to save from damp and sudden winds.

Feel free to use up any food/drinks etc left behind by previous occupants and any sun creams, shampoos etc in main bathroom. If any are time-expired goods, please throw these out. If any basics run out during your stay (e.g. sugar, salt etc) please ensure a replacement supply. Take care to clean up after every meal/snack ants are constantly on watch.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Water OK to drink after boiling, for cleaning your teeth or washing salad, but buy bottled for drinking (cold) and ice cubes. Whilst there will be sufficient hot water for your needs, please schedule use of the showers to avoid too much demand within a short space of time.

If the flow of water from the taps is low, unscrew the filter on the end of the spout and remove the inevitable grit which accumulates therein. This should solve the problem.

In each bedroom, is a plug adaptor suitable for the insertion of “tablets” to kill off any overnight mosquitoes. The tablets should be found under the sink in the kitchen – Baygon or Bloom brands effective and recommend their use nightly in occupied bedrooms. Please remove the plug when you arise in the morning, to prevent overheating, (as this causes burning of the paintwork and sockets) and ensure there are some “tablets” left for anyone arriving after your departure. Do not leave windows open with lights on as this encourages flying visitors!!!!

Purchased as a three generation family holiday home to allow us all to sail around the cost of Menorca. Family all grown up now so hoping the next generation will enjoy this wonderful, safe, family friendly place.

Why Sue chose Minorca (Menorca)

When we walked over the builders rubble and saw the sunset we decided we had to buy it! We have loved this real home from home ever since. It is well looked after and not an anonymous rental machine.

What makes this apartment unique

The view, the nearness of the sea, the headland opposite which is protected and cannot be built on. Closeness to beautiful beaches and wonderful restaurants. Plenty to do, sailing, sailboarding, snorkelling, scuba diving or just crash and relax! Excellent facilities in the apartment, dishwasher, log burner, large TV, DVD player and DVD films & Satellite for the news!

We have very much enjoyed staying in your apartment and having a wonderful holiday! Our favourites: I) Art Market in Fornells (evening in June); ii) Sant Tomas beach; iii) Es Cactus or lunch and Okapi Bar for easy supper!

The children enjoyed kayaking from Cala Tirant and pedallos from Arenal.

The area and views around the apartment are gorgeous! We look forward tor returning again!!!

  • Both bathrooms have good quality porcelain items and mirrors with spot lights over. The main bathroom also has a washing machine and tumble drier. This has a bath with shower over, a bidet, sink and toilet. It is very spacious and the shower room is a good size. White suites and shower curtains. Towel holders and back of door hooks for clothes. Terracotta tiles and fully tiled bathrooms.

Each bed has a cover and is made up with sheets and pillow. Bath towels and hand towels are provided. All rooms have a large fan and English curtains as well as Spanish shutters. Terracotta tiles throughout.

The kitchen has a built-in hob + oven, plus fridge-freezer. Good run of granite surfaces many built-in cupboards, electric kettle & toaster. An iron + ironing board, plenty of cooking utensils and cleaning materials as well as ample cutlery, china and glassware are provided. The shady balcony has table & six chairs, two recline for the afternoon siesta. The balcony overlooks the bay & has stunning views. At the front is a sunny area has two sun loungers. Stunning Japanese gardens abound. A small shop & bar is across the road & up a path.This bar provides wireless internet access (fee). Supermarkets, bars, restaurants & swimming pools are a few minutes walk. The beach below is suitable for swimming + snorkelling. A full sandy beach is a five minute walk, with warm calm water & easy proximity to a bar for drinks / snacks. There is a regular bus service and taxis are easily ordered. The apartment is up 6 steps & then flat right to balcony, up four steps to bedrooms & bathrooms.

Beautiful, sunny, comfortabe

Loved the apartment, very well equipped and comfortable. The view from the balcony is spectacular. Local restaurants very good especially when taking advantage of the menu of the day, three courses plus wine and water for Euros 19.50 at lunch time.

Playas is a lovely well kept area with all the facilities. Further afield the beaches are beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay in Playa de Fornells. A really pretty, well kept urbanización and the appartment itself was fine and comfortable. Without a doubt the best part was watching the sunset over the bay...priceless, the most amazing views from the balcony. Definately worth having a car to drive around and visit the numerous and stunning cove beaches as well as Mahón and Ciutadela.

Perhaps Tirant beach was not one of the best beaches we visited but even so perfectly nice.

All in all great location, wonderful views, fantástic!!!

fantastic location and views

we really enjoyed our stay. sue was extremely helpful in providing information beforehand. the apartment had everything you need. the view was spectacular from thr balcony. it was very peaceful and not very touristy. the local beaches, supermarkets and resaurants were good. the terrace was also lovely. will definately be back

Peaceful holiday in front-line location

Highly recommended to those seeking a restful experience in beautiful surroundings. Set in attractive gardens, this holiday apartment has the best view of any we have stayed in. In addition it is close to supermarkets, beaches, bars and restaurants. There is a local bus service but we decided that hiring a car would give us more freedom to explore. The owner provides detailed information to help to make the most of the neighbourhood and the lovely island. The apartment is clean, well maintained and equipped and, as others have said, feels like a home. We feel privileged to have been able to stay there!

A little bit of Menorcan magic

This is beautifully presented property which provides plenty of space with great views ,two bathrooms are an added bonus along with plenty of storage in the bedrooms ,the only thing I would have wished to see was a safe to store valuables away but other than that I would certainly recommend a stay here

Owner's Response: I will look into providing a safe. However in the thirty years I have owned the apartment it has never been a problem! If guests feel more secure with one I obviously have to see where we can install one!

An ideal location to relax

Located in the tourism area, the "PLAYAS DE FORNELLS", witch is a beautiful complex with very small building and extensive well flowered gardens.

The apartment : modern well equipped, comfortable, "we feel at home"; the sea view from the dining terrace is really amazing !

Just near accommodations : a supermarket, a good snack bar, a bus station from where you can go and visite FORNELLS, MAO, ES MERCADAL, CIUTATELLAD, …

Also, a beautiful small quiet beach at 40 meters and a large children sandy beach at 200 m.

An ideal location to relax, we will be back !

Beautiful quiet, romantic location overlooking the beach this apartment has stunning views across the bay to a protected coastline. It is part of the beach village of Playas de Fornells on the unspoilt northern coast of Menorca.

There are excellent restaurants, bars, swimming pools and supermarkets minutes away. Numerous quite bays and beaches can be explored by car, bicycle, boat or foot. Guests have enjoyed sailing, diving, fishing, walking and bird watching locally. The pretty fishing village of Fornells provides opportunities to learn to sail, surf-board, organise a diving trip or boat hire.

Mahon and Cuitadella are at opposite ends of the island, both give plenty of shopping, sightseeing, horse riding and local cultural opportunities to fully appreciate the diverse nature of the island.

Walking and biking trails have, also, been developed for those who cannot relax on an endlessly sunny beach.

Other Activities: Bird watching, boat hire, boat trips.

Golf: Son Park is now an 18 hole golf course and is approximately 10 mins drive.
