Clean and quiet but thermostat was locked
This property was clean but the thermostat was locked at 76 degrees. Our first night it had been very warm and the temperature in the house was 76 and we could not get any air. The windows were locked so we could not get any air to flow. After discussing with mgt, the agreed to lower to a locked 74 degrees. They wanted us to take the trash out but only provided one trash bag, they wanted us to do a load of laundry on our last morning but provided no laundry detergent.
Dear Mrs Jones,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know your thoughts about your staying with our vacation home. I am sorry to hear that you had different view with the the AC thermostat & supplies.
Vacation home is different with the Hotel. The concept of vacation home is "self-catered vacation" We provide complimentary trash bags and soaps to get them started. You are responsible for your own supplies afterwards. We do not request you to load of laundry on your last day as our cleaner team will do a departure clean.
Regarding the temperature, the weather during your stay was below 76, so impossible for the villa to be "too hot" as your claim.
Here is the email we sent you at the time to explain the situation and what we did.
WR142421 (03/06/18 - 03/13/18) to lorene.jones,
setting the AC temp is not an "emergency", hence the reason no one went out last night.
Also, considering the fact that the outside temp last night was only 45 degrees, it is impossible for the villa to be "so hot..."
The energy company requests that AC settings be at 78. We go to 76. The notice of 74 is only an fyi to guests that too low a setting will cause damage to the unit.
Your villa also has fans in every room. Please turn them on. You will find that this makes a big difference.
Since the local weather for your stay will be quite cool, as a courtesy we will lower the thermostat to 74 as it will not adversely affect he unit.
