About The Owner

My husband and I both grew up in Western North Carolina. We love these mountains we call home.

.

We are avid outdoor enthusiasts!!

Most of the time we are either traveling up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway or on one of the winding country roads on our road bikes or hitting the thousands of acres of trails on our mountain bikes.

We also enjoy taking in one of our other favorite activities...fishing. Whether we are wading in with our fly rods on one of our many pristine mountain streams or floating down one of the many awesome rivers we are never disappointed.

On our farm we have a small herd of Scottish Highland Cattle as well as a few horses and of course our dogs. We love our area and our farm so much that we felt like we should share it with others who would like to experience a taste of what we live with and are blessed with everyday!!

What makes this barn unique

When staying on our farm you will enjoy a unique relaxing setting where you will feel far away even though you are only minutes away from activities, exceptional dining and of course all the mountains have to offer.

What a unique rental property. Living in a converted barn on a real live farm, a great experience.

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a get away from the hustle and bustle of South Florida, and we found it. The property had everything and was absolutely spotless. We wanted for nothing. As remote as you feel you are only minutes away from downtown Hendersonville and all the great little restaurants and shops.

Lisa and her sons were very helpful in directing us to some the restaurants that are the locals favorites. A great experience and we will certainly be back.

FANTASTIC!!

  • 5 of 5

We maybe were in the property for a total of 4hrs over 2 days. BUT, the presentation and location was top notch. The ambiance was astounding. We will, without a doubt, be back. If you're a mtn biking family, you're about 20-30 min from both Dupont and Pisgah Proper without the hubbub. We dig it......

Beautiful, Quiet, Spacious Barn with a Picturesque View

  • 5 of 5

The barn was absolutely beautiful with plenty of open space and a very picturesque view. We only saw the owners (who live right next door) once briefly as they were heading out and we were also outside - they were very polite and friendly.

There is a free roaming hen that is very friendly and hung around the barn. We also got to see cows grazing and their horses in the pasture. The weather was beautiful all weekend and at night we were able to sit out on the lawn chairs and had beautiful stargazing views. We saw at least 6 shooting stars!!

Only two very minor complaints: 1) The coffee pot didn't work very well -- it made coffee, but there were lots of coffee grounds that leaked through into the coffee. 2) Checkout procedures were emailed to us the morning of checkout and the wifi at the house was out so we didn't see them until AFTER we checked out. It would have been helpful to have procudures posted in the house somewhere.

Perfect farm life escape in the mountains.

  • 5 of 5

Our family had an absolute wonderful time. The property is beautiful and my young children (ages 10-2) loved ending each day hiking to waterfalls and exploring Pisgah National Forest by watching the cows graze in the firefly speckled pastures. The owners were hospitable and very friendly with our family. Visiting with them was actually our favorite part of the trip!! We will revisit the Big Red Barn in the fall to see the changing fall leaves.

Perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, daughter, son, their spouses and I spent a few days visiting Hendersonville and ASheville. We stayed at a beautiful barn/cabin in Hendersonville that was so unique and special. There was a ton of space for all 6 of us and our pups! We were super close to many attractions such as brewries, waterfalls towns and the Biltmore. Our hostess Lisa was lovely and so easy to work with. She answered all my questions very quickly and was helpful in so many ways. We will definitely return to her place and will tell all our friend to go as well. There is so much to explore near her farm. We felt so comfortable and hated to leave. Thank you Lisa for sharing you vacation barn with us. We had a wonderful time. It was perfect!!!!

Peace & Love,

Milly
