At first glance the property is adorable. It is located on a hill. The unit it’s self is below the property owners home. A basement if you will. There is a flight of steps in the unit that appear to go upstairs to the owners dwellings. There is only a curtain covering this stairwell. The “pictures” show a double bed and a twin size bed. Twin bed is not suitable for anything. The bed seems to be missing any type of support or “slats” under the bed. If you sit on the side of the bed, say to put your shoes on, you sink almost to the floor. I would go so far as to say that the bed is not suitable for even small children to sleep on. There is a hotel sized refrigerator that was not plugged in when we arrived. We stayed for Two nights and ate fast food the entire time. There were no restaurants that we could see in “walking distance” From this property. There is no individual unit or thermostat to set the temperature in the apartment. I think the very worst thing about our stay here is the fact that we heard the owners talking constantly. We could make out some of the conversations even without trying to listen. There were what I considered to be “arguments“ between the owners at times. It was almost as if the owners did not realize we were staying there. You could hear every step that was taken. At one point we even heard what sounded like a sewing machine. The only good thing I can think of about this visit is that we were not contacted or approached at anytime by the owners. I could not recommend this property to anyone. Not with a clear conscience. I’m sorry.
Great place to stay when visiting NYC, parking included, very close to Staten Island Ferry
Owners were helpful with info about the area.
Comfortable and convenient after a day in NYC
After a day touring in New York City, we found this apartment to be a good alternative to more pricey accommodations in Manhattan. It was nice to take the Staten Island Ferry and then only have a short drive to a pleasant night's sleep. The beds were comfortable and the apartment quiet and clean- just what we needed after a long day of touring!
Denise was great, prompt on responding to voicemails, the room was welcoming and fit our needs per
Awesome, Dining area included small refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker, perfect for coffee hound like me, the room was tastefully decorated and had a sitting area as well. Overall excellent stay
Thank you so much, wonderful to have you!
I would highly recommend this cozy downstairs apartment if you're trying to visit New York but don't want to stay in the heart of the city. The free Ferry was only a 7 minute drive so it's very accessible. The room in general was very clean and spacious.
Denise was a great host , Fun to talk too and very helpful. I would stay again.
