About Brittany Hymore

I am a lover of life and all its opportunities. I am originally from Toledo, Ohio and travelled to Venice for the first time at the age of 18 in the year 2000. I met my husband on my second day in this amazing city and knew immediately my life was going to change forever..... 'Just Stay' were his exact words. Almost 12 years later I am now a wife and mother of two amazing little Venetians. In 2007 when I was pregnant with my first child I knew I had to figure out a way to do what I love and take care of my loved ones.... and that was the beginning of CharmingVenice. My husband is a talented architect and I an interior designer. We had a blast designing our first rental apartment, which lead to the second, then the third. We love the city we live in and want everyone who comes to fall in love too...

Brittany Hymore purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Brittany Hymore chose San Marco

Unlike most properties in the city, the Saint Mark's Terrace provides sunlight and sweeping views over Venice.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Dear, Brittany,

Words have not been invented to tell you how much I enjoyed my month in Venice! Time, at this point in my life, is my most precious possession and the spending of it is really an art form! :-) The apartment was perfect..everything I could wish for..including it's owners. I enjoyed shopping by vaporetto, no cars, the neighborhoods, the off the tourist trail eateries and those perfect moments as each day the bells! Even the crowds were part of living in Venice..... This truly was a once in any lifetime's perfect vacation.

Fantastic location !

  • 5 of 5

Nice property, old-style furniture, fully functional. Very calm although right across the corner from San Marco piazza. Outstanding view of Campanile and basilic from both balconies. Ability to have lunch and dinner on the bedroom terrace. Owner and cleaning lady are extremely nice and accommodating. Go for it !

Unbelievable Location and Comfortable Apartment

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was located about 3 minutes from Saint Mark’s Square with easy access to the many restaurants and sites of Venice. Since the apartment was on the 5th floor there was the most amazing views of the skyline around us, both inside the apartment but particularly on the balconies off the living area and bedroom: memorably the Clock Town, Basillica and Campanile. The bells of the Campanile provided a beautiful serenade of sound, particularly at 9:00am in the morning.

The apartment itself was quite comfortably appointed. A large living room/dining area was a wonderful place to have breakfast cooked at ‘home’ or reheated food from the night before. The master bedroom provides plenty of space to unpack for the stay and the second bedroom, though smaller, can be used in a variety of ways(storing suitcases and other bags) as there were only two of us. We enjoyed cooking breakfast and on the rainiest day our dinner.

Brittany and Valentina (who met us at 8:30pm on our arrival) were most helpful prior to our visit and once we were there. Brittany helped us set up the reservation and went out of her way to recommend a service to guide us from the airport - Marco Polo - directly to the apartment as well as helped us on our way out to the train station. The service is ProntoPorter and will add another note on them below. Valentina was available for questions during the stay, particularly helpful when the tides were coming up and flooding St. Mark’s Square. Going as far as to send information on an app that provides tidal predictions. Thanks to both of you.

If we had any small suggestion it would have to do with the lighting -particularly in the living room. Since we both enjoy reading in the evening we couldn’t get enough light to sit on the couch and read our books and relax. Very small issue overall.

**. ProntoPorter. Brittany provided the name of this service for our arrival and departure. We cannot say enough about the high quality service we received. A “Local” (the title of those that meet you) is there at your arrival point and for departure comes to where you are staying to help you make your travel connection. As a couple in their 60’s, being guided into Venice (which does have an interesting layout) and knowing the best transportation to accomplish this was extremely helpful. Both Locals spoke excellent English, were very knowledgeable about Venice, and even helped us with our luggage. We will use them again.

Faultless appartment.

  • 5 of 5

Second visit to Venice and St Marks appartment. Ideally situated 2 minutes from the square. Well equipped to cook dinner bought from the market at Rialto and sit on the balcony to enjoy. Or alternatively you could stroll to nearby restaurants. Comfortable weeks stay would highly recommend.

Nice apartment, very attentive owners

  • 5 of 5

Unfortunately we had to cut our stay in Venice short, but the apartment was everything we could have wished. Great location, great views, bells, bells, bells. Air conditioning was really a bonus. Wifi worked great which was a plus as I was working while on my vacation. Can't say enough nice things about Brittany and her husband who had to help us out quite a few times and were always pleasant and cheerful. Definitely hope to see Venice again, just maybe not in July. It's hot and there are way too many people around.

Outstanding location and delightful owners

  • 5 of 5

Cannot say enough good things about the apartment or owners. I am not one to gush online but it is deserved here.

My best example was from my daughter. When we arrived, we stepped out onto the balcony off the Master bedroom (there is another balcony on the other side of the flat!) and she started to cry. I thought it was the jet lag and gave her a hug. I said whats wrong and she replied, "It's so beautiful here!"

The location is spectacular, the views over the rooftops priceless. The apartment has everything - A/C, comfy beds, a full kitchen, clothes washer/dryer and even an elevator.

The owners have provided a folder with the most amazing local guide for restaurants, groceries, shops and other tourist needs. The best part is you get to avoid the tourist traps and eat at the restaurants frequented by the locals.

If you look at the prices just for a traditional hotel room in Venice and then realize what you get and where this unit is located, it is a no-brainer!

This apartment is owned by a sweet local couple who also owns the Cima Rosa Bed and Breakfast. They are totally honest and will help you with whatever issues you run into.

This was in my top 3 places I have ever stayed and I've traveled the world and seen many, may places.

Just absolutely stunning. What else can I say.

This flat is best for 2 adults and 1, maybe 2 children as there is only one bathroom. It will sleep more using the couch in the living room but one toilet could be an issue with more people. That is the only possible issue I can think of.

Perfect location, super comfortable

  • 5 of 5

LOVED this rental. Literally steps from Piazza San Marco, it's tucked away on a quiet court away from crowds. Easy to walk or take vaporetto anywhere in Venice, super convenient to all tourist landmarks. Slept 4 (spouse and self, son, sister in law) comfortably. Many nice little touches: kitchen doesn't just have plates and utensils, also has a toaster, cheese grater, everything you need to make real meals. Washer is handy. Brittany was very helpful and left a list of recommended restaurants for every sestiere, a number of which we tried and enjoyed. It's on the 6th floor, elevator works and the roof level view of the Venetian sky is spectacular at every hour. We would happily stay there again.
