Five bedrooms with air con. Five bathrooms. Countryside luxury in old Andalucia

Loma La Parra is situated at the heart of Andalucia's most beautiful areas of mountains and lakes and set in several thousand square meters of private land, between two protected areas of extraordinary natural beauty, El Chorro and El Torcal and just 30 minutes from the famous, spectacular walkway, "el caminito del rey" or Kings Walk. Local activities include, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing, walking, water sports on the lakes, arial sports, sightseeing and shopping and golfing in nearby Antequera. Within easy reach are Malaga, Granada (the Alhambra and snow skiing), Cordoba and Seville, the coast and Gibraltar. Alternatively, just relax, soak up the sun and enjoy your peaceful surroundings; the views, the village life, the house, pool, barbecue and gardens.

Golf: Antequera Golf is 20 kms or half an hour from the villa.

Alhaurin Golf is 30 kms or 40 minutes away.

Both are in the mountains with spectacular scenery.

There are may more courses on the coast one or two hours away.

Coast/Beach

The Costa del Sol's beaches are 30 miles away which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The better areas are Fuengirola and the smaller beaches around Marbella.

A 2 to 3 hour drive will take you to the Atlantic windsurfing beaches around Tarifa.

Skiing: The Province of Granada is home to Andalucia's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada, and its local ski resort, Sol y Nieve.

There is an excellent, modern, lift network, good access, skiing to 3000 metres, and vertical descents of 1000 metres. Open from Christmas to the end of April, the resort is 2.5 hours from the house.

The private swimming pool measures 11m x 5m. There is an exceptionally spacious, tiled surround for sunbathing, a pergola shade and spectacular views to the mountains.

The nearby summer kitchen and barbecue with stone table and outside seating for 12 guests is the focal point for your outdoor dining.

There is a separate covered terrace with wooden pillars and beams, and a pine table to seat 10, plus a sofa and two armchairs.

Eating Out.

In the village there are many bars and a few restaurants There are supermarkets, a chemist, a doctor, butchers, bakers, take away pizza and roast chicken and a market every Thursday. There are banks with cash machines. Antequera, less than half an hours drive, is a superb shopping center with many restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.

Perfect house for us. 11 people and 1 children

Alla var mycket tillfreds med huset och dess utrustning. Fantastisk utsikt o husets med dess gemytliga inredning. Vädret var varierat men ganska blåsigt den vecka vi var där. Bada kunde vi fast det var lite svalt i poolen.

Kan mycket väl återkomma. Lagom avstånd från Malaga.

Amazing villa

5 retired couples stayed four nights at this lovely villa. It exceeded our expectations. The house is large and comfortably accommodates 10 people with plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was wonderful and had everything we needed to make a few meals. The yard and views from the house were incredible. It is a short drive to the village ( and a couple of the group actually walked back to the villa from town 2km ). The grocery store in the village had everything we needed at bargain prices. Colin responded to several small issues we had immediately and Maria and Josef are the local contacts who took care of any problems and answered our questions. I cannot say enough about the wonderful suggestions we received from Colin and Francesca. The directions to the house, information on local fiesta, were all very much appreciated. Our only disappointment was the weather. Spain was experiencing unusual rain most of the 10 days we were there. We would have liked to have been out in the yard sitting by the the lovely pool every day. I guess we will just have to come back ! We would also suggest having Maria bring paella for dinner one night. We ordered enough for 10 and got enough for 20! There was plenty for dinner and lunch and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this property.

A fantastic place

We stayed in the house with the whole family with children from 10 to our grandmother 80 years old. It really is a beautifull house. Colin was very attentively, he helped us with information for our daytrips. The house is clean, big, cosy and has a perfect garden with swimmingpool. Hope to come back some day, thank you for you hospitallity!!

Summer August 2017

We had a fabulous 2 weeks in Loma La Parra in Spain. The property was spacious and very well maintained. The bedrooms were comfortable and had all the furniture we needed and the ensure bathrooms/shower rooms were very clean. The patio area and kitchen were well equipped and were the central meeting spaces for our large family to relax in with ample shaded areas for the times we needed to be out of the sun. The pool area was exceptionally lovely and the children (young and old) enjoyed playing in it. The sunbeds were very comfortable and there were enough for our party.

If I had to complain about anything it would be the wasps and flies who seemed to love spending the evening with us!

Understandably in a hot country there will sometimes be flies or wasps but usually these come and go with the wind and temperature. Fabulous Stay!

Fabulous, relaxing week with the family (all adults) in a beautiful villa, located in the perfect spot for exploring the area. The villa and it's facilities were perfect, the pool and garden were spotless, and cleaned several times during the week, and the surrounding area and views were spectacular. Amazing walk along the Caminito del Rey (a must see), which is only 30 mins drive away, and lovely days in Ronda (about 1.5 hours), and Antequera (30 mins). The owners were very communicative, both before, and during, our stay, and went to a lot of trouble to make sure everything was perfect. We had an amazing Paella delivered one evening, by Mari & Jose, relatives of the owners, and all the other evenings we took advantage of the BBQ at one side of the garden, then had really relaxing evenings on the patio, with plenty of local wine! The local town is only 5 mins drive away, with all the little local shops and supermarkets that you need, plus several lovely little tapas bars, that were a welcome distraction after doing a bit of shopping! Sadly, we can't comment on any of the local restaurants, as the villa and surroundings were so perfect that we ended up staying in every evening! We would have loved to be staying for a second week, and can't recommend this villa/location highly enough. Many, many thanks to Colin and Francesca for making our stay so perfect!

A wonderful place to stay with perfect hosts

The house was perfect for a family travelling with 4 teenagers, a younger child in a wheelchair and a granny - so a mixed bunch whose needs were met in every way. We could have just spent the whole time next to the pool and in the surrounding area... the local town was welcoming with a few little local shops with families of all ages; we also explored the local lakes, which were beautiful and did horse riding in the evening which was loved by all, even my disabled son (but not granny)... a wonderful place with very approachable hosts always keen to help.
