About the property

Five bedrooms with air con. Five bathrooms. Countryside luxury in old Andalucia

Loma La Parra is situated at the heart of Andalucia's most beautiful areas of mountains and lakes and set in several thousand square meters of private land, between two protected areas of extraordinary natural beauty, El Chorro and El Torcal and just 30 minutes from the famous, spectacular walkway, "el caminito del rey" or Kings Walk. Local activities include, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing, walking, water sports on the lakes, arial sports, sightseeing and shopping and golfing in nearby Antequera. Within easy reach are Malaga, Granada (the Alhambra and snow skiing), Cordoba and Seville, the coast and Gibraltar. Alternatively, just relax, soak up the sun and enjoy your peaceful surroundings; the views, the village life, the house, pool, barbecue and gardens.

Golf: Antequera Golf is 20 kms or half an hour from the villa.

Alhaurin Golf is 30 kms or 40 minutes away.

Both are in the mountains with spectacular scenery.

There are may more courses on the coast one or two hours away.

Coast/Beach

The Costa del Sol's beaches are 30 miles away which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The better areas are Fuengirola and the smaller beaches around Marbella.

A 2 to 3 hour drive will take you to the Atlantic windsurfing beaches around Tarifa.

Skiing: The Province of Granada is home to Andalucia's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada, and its local ski resort, Sol y Nieve.

There is an excellent, modern, lift network, good access, skiing to 3000 metres, and vertical descents of 1000 metres. Open from Christmas to the end of April, the resort is 2.5 hours from the house.

The private swimming pool measures 11m x 5m. There is an exceptionally spacious, tiled surround for sunbathing, a pergola shade and spectacular views to the mountains.

The nearby summer kitchen and barbecue with stone table and outside seating for 12 guests is the focal point for your outdoor dining.

There is a separate covered terrace with wooden pillars and beams, and a pine table to seat 10, plus a sofa and two armchairs.

Eating Out.

In the village there are many bars and a few restaurants There are supermarkets, a chemist, a doctor, butchers, bakers, take away pizza and roast chicken and a market every Thursday. There are banks with cash machines. Antequera, less than half an hours drive, is a superb shopping center with many restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.

Dear Colin and Francisca!!

Hemos pasado unos días maravillosos en Loma La Parra, éramos un grupo muy grande, con varios niños y la distribución de la casa, así como la amplitud de todos los espacios hizo que nuestra estancia fuera perfecta! Disfrutamos mucho de todos los ambientes de la casa, sobre todo los exteriores ya que nos hizo muy buen tiempo, y los niños no perdieron la oportunidad de darse sus primeros chapuzones del año en la piscina!!! Además, los alrededores y el pintoresco pueblo de Valle de Abdalajis fueron buenos aliados para cuando quisimos dar una vuelta! Gracias por manteneros siempre en contacto, resolviendo todas las dudas y peticiones que teníamos, y muy en especial, quiero hacer extensivo este agradecimiento a Mari, encantadora y siempre dispuesta a ayudar, que durante todos los días de nuestra estancia estuvo atenta y localizable! beautiful house in rural Andalucia

We spent a fantastic week over Christmas in this house. There were 15 of us from 2 yrs old to 80 and there was something for everyone. The house is in a great location with many good days out close by.

The house has been built and furnished with great care and each of the bedrooms has character and charm. The kitchen is very well stocked with cooking equipment and there are two fridges and a laundry room making it very straightforward to cater for large groups.

Colin and Francesca were very thoughtful hosts. They were in touch to ensure we had a perfect stay and on the occasion when we had a small issue they were on hand to help us resolve it.

I would definitely recommend the house for large groups looking for a place to get away.

Perfection!!

We truly loved staying at Loma la Parra. The house is spacious and very well equipped. We each had our own bedroom and bathroom, a plus. The kitchen was everything we needed and we were able to do laundry, which is always a plus. But by far the best thing about the house is the patio/terrace and pool area. We sat each night on the terrace and had appetizers and drinks and talked about our day. We spent two pool days just relaxing and decompressing and they were the best!! We loved the town and Colin's recommendation to eat at Nescania turned out to be favorite for us. Colin was very responsive to our communications and so helpful with our planning. The highlight of our trip was the Caminito del Rey and Ardales Lakes, but we also enjoyed El Torcal, Los Arcos, Antequerra, and Ronda. The property is exactly as described and we could not have been happier. Highly recommend!

Great house, excellent holiday

Loma la Parra is a lovely house, it's clean, well maintained, has great country views. The description given by the owners is an accurate and honest overview of the property and it is a great place for a family holiday.

Our family holiday - three genearations, age range from 9 years upwards - in July was superb, the weather was gloriously hot and Loma la Parra's excellent pool and barbeque were in constant use. Colin and Francesca were available (by phone) if needed but were otherwise non-intrusive. Having said that the information, advice and help they gave on the run-up to our holiday evidenced their intimate local knowledge and superb customer service... they are also very nice people !!!

A car is essential (well it was for us). Valle de Abdalajis is a mile or so away (downhill from the house) and has a couple of supermarkets, and local restaurants, but it's probably worth the half hour trip to Antequera for larger shops, including a hypermarket.

The property is well placed for lakes and walks including el Caminito del Rey - which is worth the effort.

I cant recommend this property highly enough. It really was a great place for a family holiday, the children loved it, the adults did too. Great house, great pool and excellent owners.

Couldn't fault anything! Spacious, clean, and generously equipped with everything you need to have a truly relaxing holiday! Excellent pool and BBQ house! Aircon brill in the bedrooms! Enjoyed by young and old!
