We are a family of 4 who live and work in the UK, but love Turkey. We originally bought the villa as an investment, but have fallen in love with it, and it is our home from home. We try to get out there as much as possible and have discovered a wealth of activities and places to see, that interest children and adults of all ages. We work in social care and building, and are very family orientated.
Claire and Peter Milburn purchased this villa in 2006
We love this part of Turkey and every time we visit we find a new treasure. As our children have grown, we have explored white water rafting, ancient roman ruins, knee boarding at the local water ski park and our next aim is boating. The villa is "child proof" and tested by out by our twins since they were babies, so its great for children of all ages. The downstairs is open plan with stair gates at the top and bottom of the stairs. There is air conditioning throughout the house. Its a spacious house with beautiful views and a fabulous location. The patio is shaded from lunchtime so you can comfortably eat outside and enjoy the views of the olive groves and mountains.
The village has won architectural awards and is an unusual roman design. It offers privacy and seclusion (if you want it), and a place to enjoy with your family. Equally many people enjoy using it as a base to explore, there are so many places to discover and the new EXPO 2016 is situated approximately a 20-30 drive along the D400 to Antalya.
Had a wonderful holiday, the Turkish guy called who collected us from the airport was great, he took us out to the supermarket twice and took us out on the boat trip and to the Turkish night. We really enjoyed the villa it was very quiet on the complex but every one we met was really friendly and we went out as a group on all the trips. We went out with the staff to a beach party and had a great time.
Thank you once again for allowing us to share your holiday home
We found Villa Loras perfect for what we wanted. There were 6 adults in total and we stayed for 10 days. The villa itself was really comfortable with really good air conditioning which kept the rooms at a nice temperature. It easily housed 6 adults without us being in each others space and the communal areas accommodated us all perfectly.
You definitely need a car here as the shop on the complex is small and during our stay the bar was not serving food in the evenings but the roads are really easy to drive on as its just one main road. You can hire cars with the people at the complex too.
There is lots to do and see near by and loads of information in the villa with leaflets, brochures and the visitors book. We chatted to some of the neighbors too who were really helpful and very friendly. The main guy at the complex was also really helpful and spoke good english but we had to use the little Turkish we knew with the bar and shop staff.
I suppose the only suggestion I would make is that there be a barbeque there but otherwise a lovely place that we hope to visit again in the future.
We had an amazing weeks holiday in Turkey in October 2011,weather was gorgeous, prefect for sunbathing every day by the fantastic child friendly pools around the complex or going to the local beach(fizz beach) just 10 mins away which was very clean has its own restaurant and loads of watersports. The nearby resorts of Manavagat, Side and Belek all have plenty of bars shops and restaurants to keep you entertained day or night.
The villa was exactly as described and excellent in everyway for our large party of 7(4 adults 3 children) it gave us loads of space and really felt like home with all the mod cons from a TV,DVD,Ipod docking music system to a extremely well equipped kitchen with a microwave, dishwasher, iron, washing machine e.t.c. so you dont need to overload your suitcases.
The Villa is close to the main pool, shop, bar and restaurant(bbq night a must) all with very helpful staff ,so if any problems occur they will be happy to help. Also the staff were great with sorting out rental cars for us which were there waiting at the airport on arrival,if you dont want to drive they will come and do transfers to and from the villa and take you on excursions which I would highly recommend as there is so much to see and do near by the only problem is a week is just not enough.
We are really hoping to go back again this year for another brilliant time at the Villa Laurus.
We found the villa very comfortable and had all the facillaties we needed. The Villa is very close to the main pool and bar so this made it very easy for the whole group including my Mum who walks with a stick to access the facilaties.
When we did have minor problems the staff on site dealt with them very quickly.
The staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and the service provided by the person who collected us from the airport and took us out on the excursions was great. The villa offered us time to relax in great comfort and had all the personal touches which may it a real joy to stay in.
My only concern during the week was that when some of the group went white water rafting their were not enough helmets for everyone and they did not wear one during the activitiy. If i went again i would find out why this happened and insit they wore them as they really enjoyed the experience but were not happy that they did not get a helmet.
All our other excursions were great we paticulary enjoyed the boat trip, the Turkish night and going to the beach. So even though the complex is quite remote we had lots of oppotunity to go out. The younger members of the grouup went out to a night club and to a beach party so were happy to use the bar on the complex on the other nights.
Next time i would just want to stay longer
The villa was stunning, exactly as the pictures showed! very clean and tidy. A real 'home from home' feel, so handy to have a washing machine and dishwasher!
We would recommend hiring a car as the supermarket is about a 15 min drive away, but once on the road there are loads of places to visit, waterfalls, castle, dolphin show, damn etc
equally it was just as relaxing staying at the villa and going in the pool, which is excellent as there is a shaded area and the childrens pool was perfect! we ate at the pool bar which was great!
we would recommend visiting side in the evening as there are loads of little restraunts to eat at in particular aphrodite.
Overall a great holiday and definatly recommend it!
We would just like to say what fabulous accomadation ! We had everything we needed for our week away in the sun .The staff at the complex could not do enough for us.
The villa was beautiful, exactly as described, and exactly like the photos on the website. It was in excellent condition and on a fantastic complex. The complex was well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The owners were also very helpful and arranged transfers to and from the airport for us as we didn't have a car.
Not having a car was not a problem as the staff at the complex took us and picked us up from where we wanted to go (for a fee) They also were very helpful in recommending places for us to visit so we got the most out of our stay.
During the stay we visited Side, which has roman ruins and lots of restaurants and shops, Belek which again has shops and several golf courses nearby and the ampitheatre at Aspendos. There is plenty to do in the area for those who want to get out and about, but the complex is also pleasant for those who just want to chill out and relax by the pool and eat in the restaurant there.
The complex has a hairdresser, masseur (very good) and a bar and restaurant which serves good food.
Other villa owners / renters who were there were also very friendly and offered advice about the best places to visit and to eat.
We would definitely recommend the villa to anybody looking for a villa holiday and are looking to go back again next year.
Within a short distance of the village you can enjoy golf, yachting, hot springs and spas, national parks, plateaus, fishing, scuba diving, ballooning, wildlife parks, water skiing, water rafting, paragliding, caving and mountaineering. There are 11 Championship golf courses, including the Collin Montgomery and Nick Faldo courses within 20 minutes in Belek.
This area of Turkey is rich in natural beauty and historical sites dating to the Roman and Greek times; Aspendos Amphitheatre is one of the best examples of Roman theatre construction in the world. The ruined city of Perge spreads over a vast area, dating to Greek origins, and is still being excavated. Side, is one of the best classical sites in Turkey, with an ancient harbour and pretty town. Antalya and Alanya have old towns and harbours. Local rivers produce a multitude of fantastic waterfalls, set within national parks and flowing into the sea.
The ski resort of Saklikent is 90 minutes away and open from January to April.
Other Activities: White water rafting
