Country house meticulously renovated to offer a superb standard of accommodation

The Grange Manor House is located in the village of Setchey in acres of beautiful private grounds backing on to the River Nar. The house is an elegant grade II listed country manor incorporating a full size tennis court. The river Nar borders the estate. The house has been lavishly renovated and offers a luxurious venue for large groups. The oldest part of the house dates from the Queen Anne period. It has been decorated in a style sympathetic to its age and offers an ideal environment for celebrations and large family gatherings in an atmosphere of relaxed opulence.

The Grange Manor House offers free WIFI and a host of "mod cons" with plenty to keep everyone happy. Two of the reception rooms provide an ideal space for adults to sit and relax, whilst the entertainment room offers state of the art projector cinema system with surround sound. The yellow drawing room boasts log fire (seasonal), feature antique piano and offers views over the extensive grounds. The library offers another space to read or watch TV. The library, dining and cinema room fires bring warmth throughout the house.

There are 8 double bedrooms spread over 3 floors; 7 en suites on 1st and 2nd floors and an 8th bedroom giving stair free access on the ground floor. The Orchard, Jinny and Master suites also have sofas, whilst the Jack, Jill and Bay suites come with additional day beds.The Master suite is huge with its own four poster bed, large walk in dressing area and bathroom with roll top bath, double wash hand basins and separate shower. On the top floor there is also the Ailsa suite, again with en-suite toilet and shower. The Jack and Jill suites share an interconnecting large bathroom with bath and shower room. In addition to the 7 en suite facilities, there are two shower rooms with toilets and wash hand basins on ground and first floor. Hairdryers, shampoo/ body wash and conditioner is supplied. There are additional occasional and sofa beds available. Linen for additional beds will be supplied for guests to make up. Guests staying for under 1 week are asked to supply towels. Supplements will apply to larger occupancies of above 18.

The spacious kitchen is designed to allow families and friends to get together and cook or eat together, whilst the formal dining room, with seating for 14 to 16 and impressive chandelier and fire place forms the perfect backdrop for your celebratory meal. In house dining can be arranged with our highly recommended Chef.

You will have exclusive use of the full sized tennis court, which is great for a game on your door step. Tennis and badminton equipment is provided. Private archery lessons on the extensive grounds or an indulgent spa day in the comfort of your suite is available, by arrangement.

The large patio area allows opportunities for outdoor entertainment with new built in double BBQ and seating areas. There is also local clay pigeon shooting activities; again by arrangement. The well stocked games room, with extra TV (DVD only), WII (incl games), pool, table tennis and table football means that there is an abundance of fun activities to occupy both children and the young at heart.

The Grange is the ideal venue for both friends and families. We have child friendly facilities, including the hire of travel cots. High chairs, stair gates and baby monitors are also available.

The area offers good walking and cycling with beaches close by (17 miles). A sailing club, pay-and-play golf course, and Welney Wildfowl Trust are all within easy reach. The medieval town of Kings Lynn (4 miles) is of historical interest it contains all the main shops and supermarkets plus a regular London train service (1hr 15mins). Sandringham, Ely and Cambridge are all within an easy, pleasant drive.

The seaside resorts of Hunstanton and Heacham boast Blue Flag award beaches and array of traditional seaside activities. Heacham (16 miles) is home to Norfolk Lavender. Sandringham Estate - the Queens country residence, with its Jacobean-style house, museum, superb gardens and park are open to the public when the Royal Family is not in residence. To the south lies Ely Cathedral standing proudly in the small city of Ely. Ely has an excellent Saturday market and a good variety of gift shops, as well as a pretty water front and boat hire. The historic city of Cambridge is easily accessible while the medieval town of Kings Lynn (4 miles), complete with handsome waterfront offers an array of good shops, inns, restaurants, theatre, cinema, bowling alley and a sports centre. It also offers regular train services to London (90 min) and has all the shopping you’re likely to require with all the major supermarkets located in the town.

There are two reception rooms (The Yelllow Reception Room and The Library). The kitchen diner is huge measuring 15m in length with a large central island making cooking a communal affair. The kitchen is stocked with an american style fridge freezer pl, numerous cooking utensils, two microwaves, two electric ovens and a 5 ring electric halogen hob. For rainy days there is a games room with billiards, table tennis and table football plus a entertainment room which has state of the art surround sound and cinema projection for the full film experience (Only to be operated by responsible persons). Shampoo/ Body wash, conditioner and hair dryers provided. Standard check in 3 - 5pm check out may be 10am if guests are arriving that day

Superb house for large parties

We had a wonderful family weekend at the Grange to celebrate a special birthday. There was plenty of room for our party of 18. The bedrooms are really spacious and the three living rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The games room was much appreciated, as was the TV room with its overhead projector. We used the recommended caterers for our celebration meal, which worked really well. The patio and garden are great and the children loved the tree swing. A really special place to stay.

Fantastic stay

We had 11 family members staying at The Grange for a long weekend to celebrate my wife's and my 50th birthdays. The bedrooms and sitting rooms are all large and comfortable, and we enjoyed a big dinner on the Saturday night in the excellent dining room (prepared by ourselves in the large kitchen). We had a lovely BBQ on the terrace on the Sunday afternoon, and also used the tennis court and games room for some mini competitions over the weekend (as well as mini golf in Hunstanton) to keep everyone active. We watched a film in the cinema room on the Sunday evening. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Would definitely recommend.

The most amazing long weekend!

We stayed in the grange for a long weekend with family and friends for a celebration and it was the perfect venue. There was 16 of us and we didn't feel like we were tripping over eachother as the house is so large! Kitchen and garden were amazing we also hired the chef recommended by the grange and they didn't disappoint. The dining room was a perfect location for our meal. All in all a wonderful stay and will be booking to come back, thank you.

Hen weekend

I booked this property for a surprise hen weekend and let's just say it didn't disappoint. Everyone was overwhelmed by this beautiful house and it couldn't have been more perfect for the weekend. The property has everything we could have needed and more and the facilities were great for the size party we had. On arrival we were met by Dawn who gave us a thorough tour of the house and was very helpful throughout the weekend and of course was so lovely. I was there with the majority of my family who have all said they would love to return one day and I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone. Overall fab weekend and fab house

Needs attention

Great house and garden for large group. BUT not acceptable that the oven doors have to be kept closed by propping a chair against them. Also the beds for the children had to be made by ourselves

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Apologies that a door on one of the ovens had loosened. Of course it was replaced immediately and is in full working order along with the additional second oven. As stated, all linen for additional beds when requested for larger occupancies is supplied, at no extra charge, and left for guests to decide on the location of these additional beds according to their own personal preference. Emma Hen Weekend

We stayed at The Grange for my daughters hen weekend, the pictures on the website don't do the house or the grounds justice, the place is amazing.

We had a welcoming party of 2 who showed use how to use all the equipment and where to find things in the house. They made us all feel very welcome. All the facilities and rooms were very clean and very well presented.

The house is easy to find and ideal for all occasions, I have a large family and we are already planning another visit to the house with the whole family.

The outstanding balance, cleaning fee and the refundable £600 security deposit is due for payment 2 months prior to stay. If payment is not received within 5 days of this date the reservation will be cancelled. Cancellation is subject to 100% cancellation fee of the total booking value leaving only the £600 deposit for refund. There is a £49 pppn on numbers above 18.
