About the property

6 bedrooms sleeps 10. Near to St Tropez/St Raphael

This beautiful Moulin is cool and spacious with huge stone arches creating a dramatic feature in the main living room. The house has space for people to find their own areas to relax privately. Large tables create comfortable dining inside, by the pool, in the garden or courtyard. A small waterfall at the front of the house and a larger to the rear provide gentle tranquillity. All bedrooms are large and can cater for singles or doubles. Bargemon is known as the 'Pearl of the Var' and is exceptionally beautiful as are the neighbouring villages of Callas and Clavier. It has provided memorable holidays for families for over 16 years.

Wonderful converted olive mill retains wheels and presses.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place deep in the countryside for 3 generations of our family. Lots of room and areas inside and out to be sociable or quiet.. BBQ’s by the pool, in the covered dining area were our favourite.

It was lovely to meet the owners Kevin and Jewels who could not have been more friendly or helpful, not to mention cold beer in the fridge and home made cake on the table for our arrival!

We loved it and will be going again!

Owner's Response: Delightful Clients. Mike, Sue and family were delightful from the moment they arrived. Throughout their stay they remained very respectful of the house, appreciative of what it offered and charmingly informative with tweaks they felt would benefit future clients. A genuine pleasure, they are welcome guests at the Moulin at any time!

Enchanting home in a charming location

  • 5 of 5

I did not think it possible that this home could be as lovely as the photos but it was! We were 8 people from 35 to 75 years old and we all found it comfortable and enchanting. Be sure to get directions in advance. Even with directions, a GPS

And the help of locals it is not easily found.

The nearby village of Bargemon is quite nice too. The almond croissants from "Le Petit Boulangerie" (next to the church) were loved by each and every one of us. The small restaurant directly across the street (without a visable name but actually named "La Campana") was excellent.

For hikers try "Col du bel home". The locals assured us we should ignore the posted warning signs (military district). We did ignore them and nobody died or got arrested.

Our favorite nearby villages of those we explored was Claviers, where we stumbled upon a church more than 1,000 years old.

The gorges du verdon was also a very nice side trip.

Avoid The trip advisor recommended "reclos castle" which is neither a castle nor open to the public but was quite a hike.

The owners were very helpful and welcoming.

The only warning about the house is that while it has a charming room designed to appeal to children and children's books provided, it had multiple sets of stone staircases which might not be suitable for those children not yet steady on their feet.

Finally, for our fellow Americans: you will need a car but the roads are unbelievably narrow without guard rails or shoulders and often at the edge of a precipice. Of course this is part of the charm of the place, but our designated drivers were not as charmed as the rest of us.

Lovely house in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 1 week in the Moulin this summer along with some friends and we had a fantastic time. The house is as lovely in real life as it looks on the pictures. Kevin was a fantastic host and was ready to help and assist in all matters. We can only give our highest recommendations to both the Moulin and Bargemont.

Fabulous renovated Moulin near Bargemon

  • 5 of 5

Nine of us staying in this lovely property in July and we had a fab week. The house is full of character and is very well presented, clean, well-maintained and well-equipped. The garden and pool are equally well looked after. Kevin was great to deal with prior to our arrival and he and Jewels were very attentive and helpful during our stay, whenever we needed anything. Bargemon is very pleasant and is within walking distance, which was handy for the boulangerie in the morning and we also walked up for dinner a couple of evenings. The area is full of other lovely medieval villages and there is lots to see and do. Would recommend the house and the area without hesitation!

Owner's Response: I have to thank Sue and her party for starting a trend which I have been trying to realise for 2 years, namely, utilising one of my favourite aspects of the garden - the pergola near the vegetable patch and below the chapel built on a huge rock. Sue used it as an aperitif area and subsequent clients have followed suit in one way or another. Yay! I'm heartened that the recommendations in the notes for the Moulin on restaurants, vineyards etc were used and enjoyed - we do try to help clients enjoy their stay by liaising prior to arrival and during their stay as required. 5 star guests!

The old mill is beautiful charming and unique

  • 5 of 5

I had the pleasure to stay two weeks at the old mill, together with my wife, two of our children, one son in law and three grand children early this summer, and all of us enjoyed a fantastic time in this charming and well equipped house. There are many nice places close enough for day tours, like the excellent vineyards of Cote de Provence and the beautiful towns by the sea such as Cannes, and Saint Tropez, or other nice places like Grasse a world center for perfumes, or the natural wonders of the Verdon gorges. But despite of all of those nearby attractions, just staying by the pool at the Moulin was a delight by itself. One aspect that made our stay even more special was the personal and friendly conversations with Kevin, who owns the Moulin and gave us many good hints because he knows the area very well.

Owner's Response: Anyone called Cesar with a wife who introduced herself with such a happy laugh as: 'Hi Kevin, my name is Margarita like the cocktail!' has my attention immediately. This thoroughly charming and flamboyant family certainly added another stylish and exotic layer to the Mpulin. Although a large party, the house was left in impeccable order following their departure. I must mention also that Cesars son-in-law is probably the most gracious and polite man ever! We have said we will meet again one way or another and I sincerely hope that happens. Wonderful!

Extraordinary beautiful house in Bargamon

  • 5 of 5

This house is the most beautiful house our family has ever stayed in. The interior is carefully chosen, and the house is extremely well equipped with everything you may need. The garden is wonderful, and the pool area very well functioning. Out stay had not been the same without the owner who was most helpful and kind and interesting. The combination of the house and owner made this our best holiday in France ever.

Owner's Response: This delightful couple and their family were fun throughout their stay and really seemed to 'get' everything that the Moulin and surrounding area is about. We chatted on numerous occasions on matters that were light and funny to matters that were more serious and thought provoking. The house was left in impeccable order following their departure and I was left with an incredible sense of wellbeing for having met them. A marvellous experience from beginning to end.
