The perfect relaxed getaway

  • 5 of 5

This year will be the third time we've stayed in Meadow Cottage and it's something we have looked forward to every year. The cottage is really nicely set-up and very well presented and the setting is quiet and relaxing, with plenty of space for our children to run around. And it's perfectly placed to explore one of the nicest parts of Cornwall and to enjoy a host a great walks. On top of that the owners are friendly, welcoming and very quick to react if you have any queries. I would (and do) regularly recommend the cottage to anyone… although not too much as I don't want it to get so busy that we can't get in!

A lovely little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

This place is just lovely, private, peaceful, set in beautiful countryside, and yet close to everything that we love Cornwall for, such as the pubs, restaurants and the beaches, and places to visit such as the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock. We have been there every year for the past three years and have stayed in both cottages, they are very nicely kitted out , with not just the essentials, but magazines books, DVD's and games, are cute yet quite roomy and very comfortable and have plenty of hot water and heating that comes up in minutes, which can be very useful when the weather is unpredictable. Our children love it there, especially being able to go outside and play in the garden or the huge meadow, which has lovely views across open countryside. The owners are very sweet and whilst discrete if you want to do your own thing, couldn't be more helpful if you need them. We would definitely recommend, and intend to keep going back ourselves, as every time we are tempted to try somewhere different we wish we hadn't bothered.

Beautiful Cottage in Stunning Location

  • 5 of 5

We have been going to Cornwall at least twice a year for the past eight years, and this has to be the nicest cottage we have rented so far. It was a really nice mixture of quaint and quirky and cottagey, whilst being beautifully modernised too, so you got the character plus mod cons which was lovely. The grounds the cottage is in are just gorgeous with views to die for, private off road parking (hubby happy) and as well as a private garden, there’s a massive meadow that’s yours as well (kids and dog delighted).

It was also absolutely spotless which I’m afraid hasn’t always been the case when we’ve gone S/C, and also being used to having to arrive with extra luggage in the form of toilet rolls and washing up liquid etc etc, it was great to find that everything we needed was actually already there. There was also coffee, tea (several different kinds!) fresh milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine, and orange juice waiting for us when we arrived. There were lots of books, games, DVDs and magazines, as well as lots of information and guides too, and although we think we know Cornwall very well by now, the owners (who were really lovely and just the right balance of helpful but discrete) managed to recommend quite a few places we hadn’t visited (we tried three of their local restaurant choices and were really impressed – still dreaming about the Pizzas at Sams in Polkerris!!) We will definitely be booking to go back, and have already recommended to friends. Just lovely!

Absolutely Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

My son and daughter-in-law stayed in Old Winery Cottage in 2009 and recommended Hybadore to us when we said that we wanted to visit Cornwall for a winter break with some friends. We can't praise Meadow Cottage highly enough. It was immaculately clean, beautifully presented, and in such a lovely situation. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful walks that were close by, and my husband who is a keen bird watcher was delighted by the many unusual birds that he spotted without even leaving the Meadow! We had a fabulous time and have already booked to return in May.

Facing out over a five acre meadow in which you are free to walk or relax, set away from any roads in private gated gardens, and surrounded by countryside that is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, these beautiful refurbished stone cottages are in a perfect position to give easy access to the gorgeous sailing town of Fowey, home of the Daphne Du Maurier festival, a mixture of quaint and cosmopolitan, with fabulous bistros and restaurants, and sited at the mouth of the stunning Fowey estuary and river. Secluded sandy beaches and staggeringly beautiful coastal walks, Bodmin Moor with Jamaica Inn, Truro for shopping and sightseeing, Padstow, Looe, and quaint Polperro, beautiful Lostwithiel for antiques and restaurants, the Roseland Peninsula with pretty Mevagissey, the many gardens and golf courses that Cornwall is renowned for such as Heligan, Lanhydrock, St Mellion, Trevose, and of course the Eden Project, are all within easy reach.
