About Kerrey

What a better way to beat the desert heat by staying at Wawona Lodge! We stumbled across this property several years ago while planning our Grand Canyon and Polar Express adventure. We enjoy the outdoors and find that vacationing in Williams allows us spend more time outside.

Kerrey purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Kerrey chose Grand Canyon

We enjoy the small city of Williams and it's quaint atmosphere. It accommodates all types of visitors; sightseers, shoppers, or those just needing a time to relax and refresh.

What makes this cabin unique

Wawona Lodge is in the heart of the Kaibab National Forest at 7,200 ft. The cabin was built on 7+ private acres without a neighboring property in sight. Although tucked away in the pines, guests are still within 5 minutes of downtown Williams for groceries, shopping, and local dining.

Snowfall averages at about 66'' per year and fresh air is always abundant.

Brisk morning walks on quiet cinder rock roads or a warm cup of coffee on the wrap-around deck are great ways to start the morning. You might even catch sight of elk and deer at daybreak or dusk. In the evening, the stars light up the northern Arizona sky. If you listen closely, you'll hear the elk call to each other in the summer and fall months.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to let you know firstly that your home is beautiful and perfect for our purpose. Our family has not all been together in 10 years and it was wonderful to have them all there with no distractions. Close to the Grand Canyon. It meant the world to me that we had a home like environment to visit in instead of your average hotel room, so that my children, son's in law, their father and my granddaughter could spend family time together. Thank you so very much.

Comfortable and well equipped. Large upstairs bedroom only accessible through bunk bed area. Best for groups that don't require a lot of privacy.

Such an beautiful family cabin. Amazing location being close to Route 66, bearazona, and the Grand Canyon. As well as many lake to explore and fish at. Also the owner was extremely quick to respond to any questions we might have had. We will for sure look to book again in the future. Thank you again for allowing our family to enjoy this fantastic getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house was equipped with everything. It was very homey. Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

The high light of our trip was visiting the Grand Canyon. Williams was also a very neat town to visit. One of a kind, unique! Loved eating at the Red Raven. I ordered their chicken paramagiana. It was one of the best I've ever had, if not the best so far. If you love Italian, I highly recommend it. Also, seeing the deer around the property was awesome. My boys really enjoyed that. The weather was perfect too. Hope to go back!

A slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Wawona Lodge. It is flat-out beautiful. When we booked, I assumed the photos would make it look better than it actually was. I was wrong. The photos don't do it justice. Wawona Lodge is breathtakingly beautiful. It's nestled in a pine forest. The air just feels sweeter there. The home is immaculate. My wife and I stayed there with our four grown children and one girlfriend - a total of seven. There was more than enough space. We could have comfortably fit 4-5 more. The great room is plenty big to relax and enjoy. The kitchen is big enough to cook together... that's one of our favorite things to do! The master bedroom is quite private and the other sleeping quarters are huge! Our whole family loved it there. As my son (he's 29) and I were packing up the car to leave he turned and said, "I would love to stay here for another week. We spent too much time seeing all the sights around here. I could take a few days and just hang out here (at Wawona Lodge)." He summed it up perfectly. You'll be blessed to stay there. It really is a little slice of heaven.

Perfect vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect. It was close enough to everything we wanted, yet secluded enough we could truly get away from it all. The home is beautiful. Kerrey made sure everything was perfect. Williams is a great place to stay. We filled every day with activities. Would love to go back.!
