The Grand Canyon South Rim is just over one hour north. At 7,200 feet you will enjoy the cooler weather, fresh air, and relaxation in the company of family and friends.

This two-story cabin boasts 2,000+ sq ft with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The entry level features a great room with a cathedral ceiling and a floor to ceiling river rock gas fireplace. There are two TVs & DVD players, iPod dock/clock, two sofas, 7-seat dining area, full kitchen, laundry room, and garage access. Wawona Lodge is equipped with central air, heat and Wi-Fi. Outside, there is a wrap-around deck with seating and a propane BBQ grill.

Bedrooms: The first floor has one bedroom with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower/tub. The upper level has two bedrooms and a loft. The loft includes a full-size sofa sleeper and futon. All bedrooms and bathrooms come equipped with fresh linens and towels.

Attractions: As the Gateway to the Grand Canyon (55mi) and home to the Polar Express, Williams will not disappoint. Take a stroll down Route 66 or hop over to Flagstaff and Sedona to round out your Arizona adventure. And, for those who simply want a refreshing getaway from the big city, Wawona Lodge provides the comfort and ambiance for a perfect retreat. We will be glad to provide more information, upon request, about scenic drives, biking trails, hiking, fishing, hunting, and more.

About Wawona Lodge

What a better way to beat the desert heat by staying at Wawona Lodge! We stumbled across this property several years ago while planning our Polar Express adventure. We enjoy the outdoors and find that vacationing in Williams allows us spend more time outside.

Wawona Lodge purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Wawona Lodge chose Grand Canyon

We enjoy the small city of Williams and it's quaint atmosphere. It accommodates all types of visitors; sightseers, shoppers, or those just needing a time to relax and refresh.

What makes this cabin unique

Wawona Lodge is in the heart of the Kaibab National Forest at 7,200 ft. The cabin was built on 7+ private acres without a neighboring property in sight. Although tucked away in the pines, guests are still within 5 minutes of downtown Williams for groceries, shopping, and local dining.

Snowfall averages at about 66'' per year and fresh air is always abundant.

Brisk morning walks on quiet cinder rock roads or a warm cup of coffee on the wrap-around deck are great ways to start the morning. You might even catch sight of elk and deer at daybreak or dusk. In the evening, the stars light up the northern Arizona sky. If you listen closely, you'll hear the elk call to each other in the summer and fall months.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I just wanted to let you know firstly that your home is beautiful and perfect for our purpose. Our family has not all been together in 10 years and it was wonderful to have them all there with no distractions. Close to the Grand Canyon. It meant the world to me that we had a home like environment to visit in instead of your average hotel room, so that my children, son's in law, their father and my granddaughter could spend family time together. Thank you so very much.

Relaxing private location close to everything

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this nice retreat. It seemed like we had an exclusive home on top of the mountain, but had all of the amenities we could ask for including a ping pong table, nice kitchen, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms better than many hotels we've stayed at before.

It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, but only 5 minutes from everything in Williams, AZ. The train ride to the grand canyon was great as well as Bearizona. The only small downfall was the sporadic wifi, but we took it as an opportunity to walk around the property, play ping pong, cook outside and watch some of the complimentary dvds at night. We'd highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.

Beautiful private mountain lodge home

  • 5 of 5

The Wawona lodge was truly the most spectacular place to host our family Christmas trip this year. It could easily accommodate our large group of 12 adults 4 young children and 3 infants. Everyone loved the time together playing in the snow and sledding with the snow disc provided for us. Games in the evening around the lovely dining table also made our time together so enjoyable Truly a fabulous log home for any large family get together. Thank you Kelley for letting us rent your beautiful lodge. It made memories that will last a lifetime for my family!

Owner's Response: We are glad that Wawona Lodge was able to accommodate your family and create such a memorable event. Wawona Lodge is capable of handling larger parties but please keep in mind our contract allows a maximum of 8 people, with an additional fee of $20 per night/per guest for guests 9+. It is important for us to know the true size of the party for HOA release of information, scheduled water delivery to the cabin (limited size of water tank), fire safety, and housekeeping.

The property was very clean and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the property! Everything was clean and easy to use, with plenty of supplies. The only thing o would add is maybe some snow toys in the future for those of us coming from the city. :)

Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Excellent cabin retreat minutes from the Polar Express and the quaint route 66 town of Williams,AZ.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location minutes from Williams (Polar Express depot) and a very short drive from Flagstaff (North Pole Experience). All the usual house amenities and utilities. Clean. Well lit and warm. Very large upstairs with 3 beds (king, queen and full) with adjoining room with two bunk beds and master bedroom downstairs.

Only downside was lack of cable TV (DVD player) and very slow WiFi signal...forcing us to enjoy some nature hikes and the peace and quiet of the forrest. Will definitely visit in the Summer for a Grand Canyon trip.

As always...more comforts than your own home!

  • 5 of 5

We've been guests for four years now and consistently the owners deliver spectacular customer service, excellent accommodations with all the comforts of home. They are responsive to any inquiries and requests. This is the first year the wildlife cooperated for our viewing pleasure! The attractions of Polar Express & Bearizona are memory makers. We hope to continue the tradition of Williams AZ and Wawona Lodge for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for sharing your slice of woodsy paradise with us!

Owner's Response: We couldn't be happier to be able to be able to accommodate your family for Thanksgiving. It is a pleasure to host your family and create such special memories year after year. We hope our proximity to vacation favorites such as the Grand Canyon, Polar Express, Sedona, and Bearizona (among many other favorite spots) continue to bring families closer together at Wawona Lodge.

Everything we wanted and more...

  • 5 of 5

This is an extraordinary vacation spot and property for adults and children alike. So much to see and do. The cabin was exactly as described...no surprises...plenty of room for family time together and down time in private. And the owners were marvelous to work with. The kids thought they were in heaven when they walked through the front door. The internet TV leaves a lot to be desired, however, even for short stays. It would be nice to have a minimum satellite TV package. I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed this place. We definitely hope to return!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying at Wawona Lodge! We appreciate sharing your review with future guests. The summer is a perfect time to escape the valley heat. We are thankful that you found our cabin to just as described online. We apologize for the delay in Wi-Fi TV services. Unfortunately, this mountainous community does not have any cables running through the land that connect to the home and all services stream from the towers on Bill Williams Mountain. We will make better efforts to communicate the limitations of Wi-Fi service for future guests. Thanks again for choosing Wawona Lodge. Please think of us should you travel to the area in the future!
