Luxury 3 bedroom Villa in Livathos with fabulous views to the front across the sea to the Island of Zakynthos, along with the dramatic Mount Aenos as its backdrop. Livathos is recommended as 'the' place to stay in Daily Telegraph's article, 'Kefalonia, the prefect break' http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/destinations/europe/greece/greekislands/7988597/Kefalonia-Greek-Islands-the-perfect-break.html
Located on the outskirts of the charming village of Karavados, the Villa is very modern, fully air conditioned with a private pool. Within a few minutes drive lies a superb selection of beautiful sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas. First floor comprises master bedroom with double bed, sea views and is ensuite with bath/shower & feature porthole window. Second bathroom with shower, all 3 bedrooms have their own balcony - bedrooms 2 & 3 have twin beds.
Perfect for either relaxing or sightseeing: You can elect to chill out around the pool at the Villa or there are watersports facilities at nearby Lourdas beach. Makris Gialos, only 10-15 minutes drive away, is a busy beach in the resort of Lassi and has a full range of watersports facilities such as waterskiing, windsurfing, parasailing, scuba diving, etc. The Villa is a short driving distance away from a number of beautiful sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas. The Villa's private swimming pool measures 8m x 4m and is 1.2m at shallow end and 1.7m at deep end. The pool and sun area to the rear of the property is finished in Albanian stone, as is the driveway, where there is ample parking for at least two vehicles. There is a lawned area to the front and side of the Villa, which is walled and gated. The garden benefits from external lighting.
Places to visit on Kefalonia: The Villa is a great base to explore the island's many attractions, such as the nearby St Georges Castle, where the views over the South West coat and Argostoli bay are simply stunning. Sami is a picturesgue port on the East coast and the nearby Drogarati Caves are stalagmatic caves thought to be 150 million years old. Melissani Lake is an underground cave with a lake and when the midday sun hits the turquoise-blue waters, it creates a magical illusion filling the cave with blue light. Assos is a tiny village on the North-West coast built on a small peninsula dominated by the ruins of a 16th century Venetian castle and is not too far from Myrtos beach, one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Fiskardo is another picturesque fishing village on the North coast and is one of the few villages not to be destroyed in the earthquake of 1953. St Gerassimos' (the island's patron saint)Monastery is at the heart of the island and the interior is decorated with breathtaking murals.

My husband and I stayed a week in the villa and have absolutely no complaints. Considering we live in a small 2 bedroom apartment in Manhattan it was nice to stretch out. The main bedroom and bathroom was quite spacious though I could see that the other two bedrooms might be cramped if accommodating two persons each. The villa was spotless upon arrival and the on site rep, Sam was friendly and helpful. The pool was definitely the highlight- it must have been heated because it wasn't bone chilling like most Greek pools I have used. Every morning I tried to get some "laps" in so I didn't feel so guilty eating the wonderful Greek food. The kitchen is very well equipped and spices, salt, coffee, tea etc. were in supply likely from previous guests (we left coffee as well). My husband was particularly impressed with the cooling power of the refrigerator- yes it's hard to open, but we have the same problem with our fridge at home. You just need to be patient after opening and reopening. There is a Carrefour on the road to Argostoli to stock up on everything you need. The only slightly downside is that there are no real tavernas within walking distance. That being said, there are plenty very good places within a couple minutes drive. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying on Kefalonia.
First stay in this wonderful villa. Exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The villa is very spacious and cool with the help of the air conditioning. Fantastic pool/bbq area with plenty of room for sun loungers, table and chairs. Wonderful local restaurants all within a 10-15 minute drive from the villa and a good selection of supermarkets too. Would definately recommend a stay in this wonderful villa. Such a relaxing and fun holiday.
This is our second stay in this wonderful property, we last stayed here six years ago and it is as nice now as it was then.
The villa is clean and exceptionally well maintained. Everything is taken care of and there are many thoughtful touches.
The villa is spacious and cool thanks to the air conditioning.
The pool area is fantastic and we used the barbecue on a couple of the nights when we weren't eating out in the wonderful local restaurants that were recommended by the owners.
You will need a car to get to the beach, restaurants and shops which are around 15 minutes away as Karavados is a little village set on the hillside. Highly recommended for a relaxing family holiday.
Stunning property, perfectly located within easy reach of beaches, shops and sight-seeing spots. Every need is taken care of here, and the villa itself contains everything you may miss from home
Villa Marbirini is a really comfortable, clean and well appointed villa that has everything you need and more for a lovely stay. We would definitely recommend it as a great base for exploring the beautiful island of Kefalonia.
The pool is great after a hot day sightseeing or enjoying the beautiful beaches.
The villa has recommendations of local tavernas, beaches and places to visit that we found invaluable.
An immaculate and fully equipped villa providing the perfect, well located base for exploring this beautiful island. Many great places to eat and a variety of beaches to suit every taste within a reasonable drive.
Located on the breathtaking island of Kefalonia, Villa Marbirini is situated near the south-west coast on the outskirts of the charming village of Karavados, only 15-20 minutes drive from the airport and the island's capital, Argostoli, where there is a stunning seafront harbour backed by fantastic mountain scenery, a plentiful supply of tavernas and shops and fashionable town square. Giant turtles can be found in Argostoli Bay patrolling the local fishing boats for titbits whilst the local fishermen sell their daily catches each morning to the public at the harbour's edge! There are many exquisite sandy beaches and traditional Greek Tavernas within a few minutes drive of the Villa, which is a great base to explore the island's many attractions, such as the nearby St Georges Castle. Other places to visit are Lake Melisani and Drogarati Caves, Antisamos beach (location for Captain Corelli's Mandolin filming), St Gerasimos Monastery, Assos with its Venetian Fort and the picturesque port towns of Fiskardo, Sami and Agia Efimia. Mini-markets are within easy walking distance and the nearest beach, St Thomas, is about 2km away. The stunning Mount Aenos is the Villa's backdrop and to the front fabulous views across the sea over to Zakynthos.
