We were one of the first people to buy in Horizon View back in 2008 whilst visiting our family. Reflections was truly special and always will be, In 2010 we decided to purchase Tides, which is virtually underneath our other apartment but has the benefit of immediate access to the grounds for our dogs. It is also bigger and suited us better. We stayed there full time for a couple of years and took it off the rental market while we moved down from Surrey and completed a building project. We have now bought a farm locally and decided to rent it out again.

Tides is like a cottage, it has its own front door directly out onto the complex grounds where you can sit in the sun protected from the wind. It is one of the biggest two bedroom apartments and is very special benefiting from a huge three window wide view from both the living room and master bedroom directly onto the sea and bay. It also has a fabulous en-suite with both large shower enclosure, bath, wc and sink. The family bathroom is also much larger than the standard size. With a downstairs wc and two floors both with private balconies this is the only apartment like it in the whole complex and is very special!!
Huge master bedroom with three window wide view directly out to sea with its own balcony. Massive en-suite with separate shower AND bath. Larger than average main bathroom. Impressive living room, again with three windows looking out to sea with private balcony off. (most have only two windows). Separate allocated dining area and beautifully equipped kitchen with Induction Hob. Protected area outside the front door to sit protected from the wind in the sunshine. This is the only apartment like it in the complex - Unique!!
* A deposit of 1/3 of the total price is required to secure the apartment.
* The balance is due four weeks before arrival.
* For bookings arriving within 6 weeks, payment must be made in full.
* Only Saturday to Saturday bookings in August.
* Short breaks (min. 3 nights) are accepted at other times of the year unless otherwise stated.
* The apartment is non-smoking, though smoking is permitted in outside areas.
* We also request a £100 returnable deposit to protect against damage, this will be returned after the cleaner has checked the property as long as it is tidy and in good condition.
* The deposit and balance are not refundable if cancellation is within six weeks of arrival. If the cancellation occurs we will endeavour to re-let the property and if this is possible the cancellation fee will be refunded.
We came to celebrate a birthday and couldn't have chosen a better place. The apartment was immaculate and very well-equipped - everything we needed was there and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. We were almost sorry the weather was so good as we could have sat in the lounge all day looking at the stunning view. But we did tear ourselves away to visit Lynton and Lynmouth which were fascinating and great to walk round. As we love gardening we just had to go to Rosemoor (about half an hour away) and Hestercombe (about an hour) - not to be missed. We also loved the flowers in the flat - another great way to make visitors feel welcome. We intend to go back to Tides as who needs the South of France when this is on your doorstep!
This was quite simply the best apartment we have ever stayed in. Even after seeing the pictures we were blown away by the fantastic views , and the standard of the accommodation . The apartment was light ,airy and furnished to a high standard.
Being two couples the large lounge and separate dining area meant we never felt on top of each other. The master bedroom is huge with a large ensuite that has both a bath and separate shower.
The apartment is well situated within the complex being away from the main car park and entrance .
Westward Ho has all you seem to need with many restaurants and pubs , the closest being just a stones throw from the main gates on the green.
Tea on the green is a must to visit for homemade cakes and light lunches , and the deli, butchers and bakers all mean your never short of quality food.
Thoroughly recommend this as a holiday destination, we have already booked our return visit later in the year.
The apartment was spotless, well-equipped and perfect for our stay. The location is great for the many restaurants and bars within a short walk. The miles of sandy beach, golf course, tennis and coastal walks are all nearby. The sea is yards away and we went swimming and surfing! The welcome pack made us feel most welcome and the owners were full of useful local knowledge. Have now rebooked for another week in June and will recommend to family and friends.

The apartment is well furnished with everything you could need, and we loved its light, airy and spacious feel. The views of the sea are second to none, sitting on the balcony watching the sunset was wonderful - so nice to look forward to after a hard days sightseeing!

Just returned from our stay at Tides. It was fabulous! The apartment is so luxurious with everything you could need. It is bright spacious and airy with the most breathtaking views you could imagine. Westward Ho! is a quiet place perfect for some relaxing time away from the usual hussle and bustle of life. The owners have thought of everything and the welcome basket is just perfect on arrival.
Tides lives up to everything we read about it before our visit. It is beautifully furnished with every convenience you could need. The views from the lounge and master bedroom are fantastic. There was a welcome pack on arrival including fresh flowers and a cream tea.
Westward Ho! is a charming little seaside town, the coastal walks are close by and the scenery is lovely. Shops are five mins. from the appartment inc Co-op, two bakers and Post Office. Appledore is a quaint little place with narrow streets and a picturesque quay, good fish and chip restaurant the 'Royal Plaice'. Bideford is well worth a visit. All in all a lovely holiday.
Immediate access from the flat to the fantastic Blue flag Westward Ho! beach which is great for surfing, boarding, kiting and swimming. Central base to access Appledore, Instow, Woolacombe, Croyde, Braunton, Saunton and of course Cornwall for Bude. Fast coastal road 4 minutes away. Bideford town a five minute drive and Barnstable about 20 minutes away by car.
Many local attractions including the Big Sheep, Milky Way Adventure Park,Exmoor Zoo, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Northam Burrows County Park.
Lundy Island can be reached by ferry from Bideford, it is an island three and a half miles long and half a mile wide and rises steeply from the sea.
Lundy is famous for its seabirds, including a few breeding pairs of the puffins which gave the island its name (Norse for Puffin Isle) but there is also a wealth of other animals and plants on the island and in the waters around it.
RHS Rosemoor is also about half an hour drive away.
Golf: The apartment is located very close to The Royal North Devon Golf Club which is the oldest golf course in England. Additional golf courses are also available in the surrounding area.
