House with harbour views and beach access, sleeps 6 comfortably

The house is in a safe, private, gated development of 27 houses set around a shared courtyard. The house is furnished in a modern style using light seaside colours and paintings by local artists in each room to create a comfortable and relaxing home. The house is on several split levels with short staircases between them and therefore may not suit the elderly or the infirm. There is full central heating and wireless broadband. The house sleeps six - one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one with bunkbeds. New carpets throughout (2016). There are two bathrooms each with a power shower over the bath. The lounge has a 32' LED TV with DVD player. The brand new (2015) kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, fridge-freezer, oven, hob, kettle, toaster, kitchen radio and other kitchen necessities. The kitchen table has extensions and can seat eight people. There is a table and chairs in the safe, pretty, central courtyard and another set in the garage for use outside the front, plus two portable BBQs.

The house: really is on the beach. To the front the house overlooks Bembridge Harbour with a lovely sandy beach 50 metres from the front door. You can chill on the beach with a nice cold bottle of white while the kids paddle in the water. At the back of the house is a private 1 acre garden that leads down to Silver Sands beach at Bembridge Point. Silver Sands is reputedly one of the best wind surfing beaches in the UK - you can hire all your watersports gear (wind surf boards, stand-up paddle boards, kite surfs, dinghies, kayaks etc) from Tackt-Isle adventure watersports, just across the harbour. Silver Sands has reputedly the best rock pools on the island well so you can hunt for crabs at low tide with the little ones. Take one of the portable BBQs with you and make your lunch on the beach. One of the beauties of the house is that even if you forget the corkscrew on the bikini march to the beach you can pop back and get it in no time! Opposite the house is the Pilot Boat pub - one of the best pubs on the Island, with great food and a warm welcome.

Bembridge Village: is a very pretty seaside village with a small number of good quality shops, just up the hill from the harbour. The centre of the village is a 5 minute walk from our house along a couple of the pleasant lanes that criss-cross the village. It has several pubs, a delicatessen, a greengrocer, a florist, gift shops, a traditional butcher, a chemist, a bakery and a convenience store. There are several art galleries and an antique shop and a couple of takeaways - Fish and Chips and a very good Chinese called China China. The Shed is a new Tapas Bar that also does great cocktails and also has a wood burner for a cosy winter evening. If you like seafood then you are spoilt for choice - our favourite is Captain Stan's fishmonger who sells lobsters and crabs brought into the harbour on his own boat plus other fresh seafood. Tina's Best Dessed Crab cafe on the harbour sells freshly caught produce and also serves seafood lunches - the wine is especially good value! The deli also does freshly caught local lobster and crab plus other very tempting seafood delicacies. The greengrocer does fresh local produce - it really does taste different to Tescos (however, if you are desperate for Tescos Finest range, it is a only 5-6 minute drive!).

The Isle Of Wight...: has some 500 miles of footpaths and bridleways, 60 miles of breathtaking Heritage Coast & virtually half the island is categorised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with many Sites of Special Scientific Interest. We have both walking and cycling festivals each year in addition to the Isle of Wight & Bestival music festivals and more carnivals, shows etc than there's space to list. The island has so many visitor attractions for every age & taste that if (God forbid) it should rain every day of your stay, you wouldn't run out of places to see & things to do. It's impossible to encapsulate the Island's attractions but to give a flavour; lobsters, lemurs, beach huts, Osbourne House, Garlic Farm, golf (7 courses), Lavender Farm, red squirrels, tigers, Ventnor Ale, Mingella's ice cream, fishing, steam trains, extreme sports, Carisbrooke Castle, sand castles, Roman villa, model village, donkeys, dinosaurs, watersports, Cowes and cows. Oh and a place called Lake with no lake.

Why Kathy Elliott chose Isle of Wight

We wanted a holiday home within a 3 hour, door-to-door drive/ferry from our home in Buckinghamshire. We loved Bembridge at first sight - the beautiful, characterful harbour and the gorgeous sandy beaches within a stone's throw of the house. We also love the village which has a real sense of community and a good selection of 'proper' shops. There's great pubs and restaurants and for us the local Brading Haven Yacht Club is the friendliest place on the planet. We also enjoy walking - the IOW is perfect for walks long or short and from the house the variety is just amazing, from the obvious beach-side walking to the local (500 metres) bird wetlands and sanctuary to hillside walking above the village at Bembridge Down. We have tried to create a real 'home from home' - we have made the house as comfortable as possible including a lovely new kitchen in 2015 that allows for more space for social gatherings and meals in the kitchen. We also re-carpeted in 2016. We hope you love the place as much as we do!

What makes this house unique

We really are right on the beach - absolutely perfect for young families who don't want to get in the car every time you want to go to the beach! Sandy beach at the front of the house and Silver Sands beach at the end of the back garden. Wonderful rock pools 100 yards from the end of the garden - perfect for young children to explore.

We have just returned from a fabulous week in Bembrige. The location couldn't be better, close to the beach, shops and an excellent local pub, with superb food.

There is so much to do, or even not to do at the IOW. We spent early mornings walking on the beach and then visited a new beach daily!

The house was superb, with everything we could possibly need and the neighbours were friendly too!

Ron and Kathy are so helpful and can't do enough to assist.

This is a perfect for a holiday that can be either as relaxing or as busy as you like.

I haven't been to the Isle of Wight for around 15 years and definately wouldn't leave it so long again.

I would not hesitate to recommend this location and particularly this house to anyone!

Very modern and cozy holiday base

This modern town house felt like a home from home with its light interior colours and friendly nautical theme to the decor.

The town house layout means that the kitchen, lounge, and bedrooms are on different levels, but as long as you can handle them, the short staircases add to the nautical feel.

Great location for exploring the island by car, bus or on foot, with plenty of local amenities when staying closer to base. The fact that the beach, the cafe, and the pub/restaurant are all within 100 yards is great for lazy days when the car gets a day off.

The wifi worked perfectly despite the red light on the router being on initially. Just connecting to the wifi with my phone was enough to get a green light, so luckily I didn't need to follow the instructions supplied for resetting the router.

The new kitchen is stunning and the wine provided on arrival was a nice welcoming touch. The comprehensive and candid notes on local shops and restaurants were really useful, especially as the ones in Bembridge are within easy walking distance up the hill (downhill on the way back which always helps!)

Really brilliant place to stay !

We had a fantastic week here in September and enjoyed it so much that we felt we had to return in October!

The house is spotlessly clean and so comfortable.

Kathy has made sure that everything you might need is available, from comfortable beds to a modern well equipped kitchen, with essential supplies and bottles of wine!

It is very tastefully furnished, with extra touches to make it really special, such as lovely art work.

Location is fantastic, so close to the beach and with lovely views of the harbour. Bembridge villlage, which is great, is within walking distance.

We had lovely weather both weeks that we were here, it seems as though the sun always shines in the Isle of Wight even in October!

There is so much to do on the island and so many places to visit!

I would have no hesitation in recommending the property for a really enjoyable holiday whatever the time of year!

Fantastic

Spent a fabulous week here at the end of August. The accommodation was way beyond our expectations and by far the best we've stayed in. It was easy to find and in a fantastic location right next to the beach. There is a pub across the road and it's a short walk into the village itself. Lovely decor and if you cook on holiday the kitchen is well equipped. Bembridge is a gorgeous village - unspoilt and not a typical seaside resort. Lots to do close by - we went kayaking and horse riding on a nearby beach. Can't wait to return.

Fantastic house in a great location families

The house was lovely and is very well furnished and has everything you could expect and more such as board games and fishing nets etc for the kids. The house is in a gated complex making it a secure location which benefits from communal gardens backing on to the beach.

The owners Ron & Kathy are very helpful and provided us with a lot of information about the local area to make sure we wasted no time finding the best places to eat etc.

Bembridge is a lovely little village and getting around the island is very easy. We had a fantastic holiday and have no qualms in recommending this house as a lovely place to visit. I fully expect we will be back.

25 Solent landing - a perfect holiday home.

We arrived to a spotlessly clean house, brilliant directions and a bottle of cold white wine in the fridge! Everything about the house was perfect, location, view etc. The owners had also made sure we had the basics such as washing up stuff, milk, tea, coffee etc. so we didnt have to rush out to the shops.

The house looks out on the harbour and it was so nice to sit at the window looking out over the boats and people coming and going. It was lovely not to have to get in the car to go to the beach which was clean and great for children with its rock pools and sand.

All in all a perfect location.

Notes:
The house is entered through the car port under the house. Here you can store dinghies, kayaks, beach gear etc. There is a hanging rail where you can hang up wetsuits and damp beach gear. Cold water tap. The BBQs and a table with 4 chairs live in the car port, with lots of buckets and spades. The first stairs take you to the lovely new (2015) kitchen. From the kitchen you access the shared courtyard where we have a further table and chairs - it's great for breakfast al fresco. The courtyard is a safe, contained environment for young children. The next flight of stairs take you to a bright, comfortable lounge with double doors and a nice view of the harbour. The next short flight of stairs take you to the twin bedroom and the first bathroom. Up the next short flight is the double bedroom with a view of the harbour. Up the last flight you'll find the bunk bedroom and the second bathroom. Bedding (duvets, bed linen) is provided but please bring your own bath and beach towels.
