This wonderful Pied A Tierre Is a South Facing English Basement Unit Located in a Quiet residential Neighborhood of Capitol Hill. Merely five blocks from the Eastern market Metro !

It was currently and tastefully remolded and decorated by the current owners over the last couple of years, combing the best of the old and the new in this charming space. This beautiful South Facing flat features its own washer and dryer, recessed lightning, exposed brick walls. It has a dining room table in the living space that seats four and a great flat screen television in the living room.

You will enjoy walking to Eastern market on the weekends and will delight in the myriad of vendors selling thier wares. Perhaps an evening stroll to one of the fabulous restaurants of Eight Street? Maybe a swim in the Indoor Swimming Pool at Eastern market? Only a few minutes away.

Have the ultimate experience of living like a local Washingtonian with all the delights of the city.

A twenty minute walk to the U. S. Capitol and Half an Hour to the Mall. It is a Walker's Paradise!

The only thing you will regret is not having enough time to see and do all that this great city has to offer!

Wonderful location and great apartment

Just blocks away from everything I wanted to get to in a terrific neighborhood. Unlike most basement rentals, this apartment has some natural light and is laid out as a square instead of a skinny rectangle, which made it feel more like home. Access to the patio in back created a sense of vast, useable space. This place is now our preferred rental when visiting DC.

Fine but not Refined

We just completed a 10 night stay visiting family in the area. We visit several times a year and like to try different Capitol Hill rentals in this wonderful neighborhood. This property offered everything we needed but when compared to other spaces in previous stays or rented by other family members, this one fell short. The painted concrete floors were cold, the entry was narrow and dark, the faucet in the shower was difficult to set to usable temperature, the back door didn't deadbolt. When the internet didn't work, I sent an email to ask for help. The response was that it did work and no accommodation would be made.

We'll try another place next time.

Owner's Response: The backdoor has a regular lock, deadbolt that works and also a dead-bolted gate even though it's not needed as this is a very safe location. Internet is great high speed comcast wifi. This guest tried to blackmail me into a refund with threats of this review, guess I do not respond to threats!

Very comfortable

The apartment was very nice and comfortable. There were some things that could have been better. The shower for instance was hard to find the happy medium for temperature. Starting in the 6 o’clock position it was off. Then rotating the large handle counterclockwise it was all cold water until passing the 12 o’clock position (which also turned the water off) then proceeded to get hot water. Also the closet tracks had separated from the ceiling which made it hard to close the closet doors. Besides these minor inconveniences’ I would definitely stay at this property again and will recommend it to people visiting the DC area.

The apartment was the perfect size and distance from Capitol Hill the only downside, it is the basement unit so you do get some noise from the upstairs guests.

The apartment was comfortable & very secure, while being a short walk to the Capitol Building.

We spent 2 weeks in the apartment and it was very comfortable. I had read other reviews, and the common complaint was poor wifi. We had some trouble with that as well. Five days into our stay the Wifi went out completely. We let Cliff and his staff know and 2 days later it was not only working, but it was then 5 times faster and never caused any other trouble. So, a huge improvement and it made our stay not only easier to keep up with email but more fun as we were able to use our own Netflix account.

That apartment is only a 3 block walk to the Safeway Grocery store and about the same to the Eastern Market, which I highly recommend for fresh veg and prime cuts of meat as well as fresh bakery goods. The apartment is close to the Capital and the National Mall. And after visiting, museums and memorials it was usually less than $10 to take an Uber car back to the apartment. (we used the daily bike share service to get to the mall. From the apartment, it is almost all downhill. )

FYI, when we arrived we used a taxi to get to the apartment and that was a mistake. We arrived during rush hour from Dulles Airport and so the fare was well over $100. On the way out of town, we used Uber and it was less than $50.

All in all my wife and I were comfortable, safe, and would love to have stayed longer.

Close to the Capitol clean and comfortable

This location was just right. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The Capitol is a 15 minute walk away. The metro is close by as well as a Safeway grocery store. We are very happy with our stay.
