Come relax , rejuvenate and enjoy this magical island we call Kauai.
Dave and I would like to thank you both for allowing us to share your home. We had a wonderful time in Anahola and all of Kauai. We truly had a fantastic vacation. We enjoyed meeting and talking with you. It was a wonderful experience being able to stay on the beach. Take care and maybe we will see you again some day. Thanks again.
So tranquil, beautiful and peaceful. Perfect in every way for us! Thank you Alex and Belle!
We so enjoyed this lovely suite. Comfortable, beautiful, private. Thank you!
Let's begin with the soothing rythmic sounds of the rolling ocean, spectacular ocaen views (especially the sunrises) and occasional moonrises. The beach is pristine with golden soft sand and a lush mountain jungle backdrop with a protecting coral reef that runs the length of the beach. Very few people on this beach although there are some 1st tier rental homes that blend well with the jungle. I think we actually saw more monk seals, turtles and whales than people. The home has an open floor plan with a beachy decor, comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. It works very well for two adults and is ideally located for travel to both the north and south ends of the island. Alex and Belle are wonderful hosts and are there to respond, but only if needed. Otherwise we hardly even saw or heard from them during our 10 night stay. Anehola is a quiet and relaxed area of the island and is very special to the people of Kaua'i. Gives off a restful peaceful feeling of how Kaua'i might have been in the long ago past. Anyhow, we spent several days exploring the Island and some days we just stayed home sunning, snorkelling and walking the beach. The beaches and gardens north and south are awesome. The canyon on the south end is jaw dropping. The lighthouse to the north is beautiful and well worth the visit. Played the nearby municipal golf course and was pleasantly surprised with the incredible spot running along the ocean and its excellent condition for a green fee of only $65. The river cruise to the firn grotto was relaxing, informative and entertaining. We highly recommend the west coast tour with Island Helicopters. it's the best way to see most of the Island and was an incredible experience. Plenty of hiking trails for all types. Too many things to do and places to visit in just one trip, so do what you can and plan to come back. That's what we decided to do about halfway into our visit. Our many thanks to Alex and Belle for allowing us to stay in their special home in Anehola. We will be back soon. Mahalo and Aloha...
My wife and I spent our honeymoon on Anahola Bay in 1973 we loved it then and it's still a hidden gem. Alex and Belle are wonderful hosts. The snorkeling out front is great and there is a long beach to walk on. We like to sit on the lanai and watch the sunrise with our coffee and papaya. Monk seals are frequent visitors along with whales and turtles. You don't need to bring your dog because you will be adopted by one of the locals. My favorite is Pili a three legged mutt who has no idea what disabled means. The central location allows you to visit any part of the island on a day trip. All in all a perfect spot for two people in love or even friends. Aloha and Mahalo, Bob & Gay
Two of us stayed at Belle & Alex's playhouse on the beach at Anahola during the winter holiday and it was fantastic! The unit is essentially an upstairs studio, very clean, has everything you need, kitchen is well-equipped, snorkel gear available, etc. Wake up and watch the waves from bed! Super quiet neighborhood. Walk out the door right onto the beach! Walk around the corner to another beach! So even if the tide is in or the waves are too high right out front, just take a few steps to the left or right and you'll be able to access a beach. The yard is super cute, well-maintained, cool plants (no car or bugs as mentioned by another reviewer). Get groceries on the way in and you won't need to leave; or make the short jaunt to Ono Burger on the corner, or into Kapaa for more. Made us feel like we had our own place on Kauai (if only!)!
Beautiful home located right on the beach. Literally just steps away! We left the windows and patio door open every night and went to sleep with the sound of the waves breaking. So easy to get to any part of the island too. Halfway between Lihue and Hanalei. Perfect place for 2 to get away.
