Scottish haven from the hustle and bustle of Christmas.

Larchfield is a lovely place to unwind and relax. The owner Allan has created a wonderful bungalow which has everything you need for a good holiday. It is very well equipped and the hamper with milk, etc means you can have a nice cuppa before unpacking and going to get supplies.

The position of the property is ideal, remote enough to be quiet but also close enough to Inverness for shopping. Inverness is a lovely city, with many nice shops, including lots of Tesco's, one Morrisons and an Asda to pick up essentials. Your dogs are catered for by a large pets at home next to tesco. Sainsbury's is out at Nairn, which is 16 miles east of Inverness. It is a nice seaside town with amazing beaches. We did live in Nairn for 6 yrs in the 1990's so know the area well.

Our trip was over Christmas and New Year and we couldn't have had better weather! White Christmas, and White New Year! We played in the snow with the dogs and even managed to build a snowman, but Milo the Boxer barked at him! There are even sledges for you to use, although we didn't give them a try, except to help clear the driveway of snow! Snowy walks with the dogs were the order of the day on Boxing Day. The driveway can get slippery, but Allan provided a good supply of salt to spread on it.

For dogs, it's a perfect holiday home for them. Ours go everywhere with us on holiday so it was great to find such a dog friendly property. Our Labrador, Ben and Boxer Milo enjoyed the forest walks straight from the gate! They too are catered for with treats, dog towels for those wet walks, and even bowls all provided!

The property is ideal for those with mobility problems. There are just two steps up into the hall. No baths but 2 showers and WC's which for us is ideal. Our party consisted of our 90 yr old father and our adult daughter and her partner so it has ample space for 5 adults!

The kitchen is very well equipped. Everything is provided for. The induction hob does take a bit of getting used to, but when you get the hang of it it's very much like gas, quick to boil and quick to turn down. The oven is also good, but we went to a local hotel, Waterside Hotel, in Inverness for our Christmas meal. I soon worked out the cooker and how to drive the hob!

Having the utility room meant we could keep the dog food, dog coats, washing, (which was a breeze with the washing machine and tumble dryer) out of the way.

I would recommend a trip to Larchfield, and would like to just say we will be back

Spacious home with everything you might need to enjoy your stay. Conveniently near Inverness.

A great opportunity to revisit a lovely area. The Cairngorms are within easy reach as is the Black Isle for Dolphin watching. There are plenty of restaurants in Inverness and shopping if you like that. Further afield but still a day trip, Ulapool, Inverewe and the Loch Ness countryside.

What a beautiful home and very spacious. We felt immediately at home. Tucked away nicely from any main highways, very quite area but yet very easy to get to a grocery store and to other cities. We were welcomed with wine , cheese, eggs and many other surprises that helped us out tremendously toward the end of our trip.Being 5 adults, my husband ,myself and our 3 adult sons very much appreciated how the family room or kitchen could be closed off(re the 3 doors) enabling the ones who wanted to sleep in quietness and the early birds were able to get up and cook, watch a movie and not worry about the noise. It was great! Thank you for allowing us to discover the coffee press !!! We are actually going to buy one for our home now as we realized how good coffee can be.The only regret we have is we didn't stay longer!

Thank you!

Fantastic property!

We had a lovely vacation at this property. It is an excellent location and the house is well kept, clean and perfect for a large family like ours. The owner was very helpful and had great communication. He even provided some groceries for us to have upon our arrival. The garden and view is lovely. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Allan!

The home was great. Clean, everything working, and very quiet. Lots of light in the living/dining room area. Alan was very helpful and provided us with some nourishment upon our arrival. Definitely would stay here again.
