Located just south of Cannon Beach, OR, Far Cry is located down a secluded, wooded road and sits just above the beach with a full view of the Pacific Ocean. The north end of the beach is Cove Beach and at low tide a cave to Arch Cape is accessible. To the south is Falcon Cove named after Cape Falcon, a headland which rises 750' out into the Pacific Ocean. There is room for four in two separate bedrooms for a maximum of six(6) nights. There are hiking trails and lots of old movies and games, a big fireplace, comfy chairs in which to relax your cares away and of course 180 degrees of ocean right outside. The kitchen is stocked with spices and cooking utilsils. Fresh linens await your arrival. Welcome to Far Cry.
'The Sea runs wild and beautiful in our blood, which probably explains why the far cry of the gull haunts us even beyond earshot. So our ocean home, forever beckoning, is named 'Far Cry.'

Loved being 'off the beaten path!' The wood burning fireplace was such an added bonus. I had a fire every night. The kitchen was very well stocked, movies, firewood and mattress warmers, yummy details. The mattress was a tad older, my back got jacked up and I was afraid I was going to have to leave early but loved this place!
My daughter was in town, so we decided to rent a cabin on the beach for a couple days. My Son and daughter n law also came out for a day. Lovely, lovely and lovely stay, view, location.... Can't say any more. Huge picture windows over looking the Pacific. We sat out on the lawn and watched the waves for hours. The ocean cliff is only 30-40 feet away from the cabin. Sunsets were fantastic. We were there during a "rare" heat wave on the Oregon coast. 75-80 degrees while we were there.
Carolyn's surprisingly spacious cabin was perfect for our family's weeklong coastal getaway. The property is immediately adjacent to the beach access. The evening views are breathtaking as the sunset streams through the large living room windows. We cooked in the kitchen every day, and on lazy mornings we popped in a VHS from the extensive collection. We are big fans of the Arch Cape area because of it's proximity to busy Cannon Beach and not-so-busy Manzanita. We will definitely be returning!
Far Cry has a most welcoming ambience. It has unique touches with original art, even the ceiling has kites that are awesome. We are using those ideas to decorate our classroom for the fall. The view is like no other that I have seen. We sat for hours at the edge of the cliff in lawn chairs visiting and enjoying the fabulous view. There is a new staircase that makes for easy access to the beach. The home is well equipped for all your needs. It is perfect for 4 people. We had a sisters get together that was more than we envisioned. We Loved Far Cry so much, we parked the car and it didn't move until check out . Carolyn makes you feel welcome and is only a phone call away. We cannot wait to return.
As soon as you get out of your car, you'll want to stay longer. The view from the large cottage windows is beautiful - and in the summer anyhow, sunset lasts quite a long time. The beach was empty when we went for walks - lots of sand dollars, some birds and no people - maybe we just timed it right? The beds were high quality and very comfortable, the living space is a bit of a hodgepodge, but feels homey and welcoming and the kitchen has more pots, pans, supplies than you will be able to use. The location was great - Cannon Beach to the north and Oswald West Park to the south.
Carolyn was exceptionally easy to coordinate with - a very positive VRBO experience!
