A really wonderful place to stay for our first time to Spetses! The island is really beautiful, and only 2 hours from Piraeus. The house has one of the best locations on the island, near the top of the hill above the town. The town is easily accessible in a 10 minute walk, or no time at all on a scooter or quadbike.
The location is really wonderful, with incredible views over the town, and the water. The photos cannot do them justice! The owners are a pleasure to talk to, very helpful and extremely accommodating, and answered all questions we had about the island.
The house itself is immaculate with spacious rooms. There are two well equipped kitchens, both indoor and outdoor. the main siting room has a large TV with lots of channels and TVs in the bedrooms too, and excellent wifi. The two room guest house at the other end of the pool was perfect for the younger people in our group, and is great space for big families or groups of friends.
All in all, a perfect house for a perfect holiday!
A beautiful, spacious villa in a quiet location just a short walk from the centre of Spetses. Very clean and comfortable with unbeatable views, and a brilliant pool and outdoor kitchen. The house was equipped with everything we needed, and the owners were very helpful with any questions we had.
Would definitely recommend to people looking to stay somewhere with their family or with friends. We will be booking again for next summer!
We have now been on family holidays here twice and it's been quite wonderful both times. There are so many lovely features to this property it's difficult to know where to start. The kids loved the large pool, I loved the fantastic outdoor kitchen area which is ideal for barbecues and boozy evenings. The house itself is immaculate and spacious, with two rooms in the annex for the children - just perfect! The photos on the website are great but even they cannot do justice to the view when the sun goes down. It is just stunning.
We were a party of 9 with age ranges from 21 to 65. Villa Isadora was just the perfect place for us all. With the most breathtaking views, excellent facilities, both inside and out and the amazing infinity pool, we couldn't have asked for more.
The outdoor facilities at the Villa are also perfect, in fact we didn't cook indoors at all we used the outdoor kitchen and barbecue and enjoyed a fantastic sociable and relaxing family holiday - highly recommended.
Placed at the top of the hill above the town, but within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants, the walk back after a few bevvies was a little challenging but didn't put us off. Our only minor complain was the table tennis table was broken when we got there, so the youngsters didn't get to do their 'over the top' family rivalry with a 'ping pong' tournament - but we made up for that!
Thank you Harry & Diane for letting us into your home.
This home is the perfect place to spend any amount of time on Spetses or for that matter any Greek island.
The home is beautifully maintained and ideally designed for the lifestyle of the Greek islands. Elegant or casual dining and socializing easily is accommodated, with its setting on a carved out plateau on the rocky hillside above Spetses harbor. The main house is elegant and well equipped with amenities. The two guest apartments located in separate house away from the main house allow for privacy for visiting guests. The pool with seawater is large and while swimming or relaxing in pool or on pool deck, panoramic views of the old Spetses harbor as well as the main harbor can be enjoyed. The grounds and gardens are tastefully laid out and always well groomed.
The views from any place on the property are breathtaking. Residents can enjoy sunrise as well as sunset and the incredible variations of the continuing changing natural lights of the Aegean Sea. Waking up to the sight of the rising sun will remain a permanent memory of the visit to this home. Observing these variations of light makes it easy to appreciate the islands attraction to artists. The equally beautiful neighbor island of Hydra is in clear sight during the day and its lights during the night.
During our stay we were fortunate to observe the annual celebration of The Armata, the Madonna-in-arms, commemorating the defeat of the Turkish navy by navy fleets from Spetses and neighboring islands under the leadership of local heroin Laskarina Bouboulina. The original battle took place on September 8, 1822 and is celebrated every year during second weekend of September. Observing this celebration with fireworks is breathtaking from this home. Actually, from here, the view of the maritime activity with its numerous yachts around Spetses' harbors is second to no other place on Spetses.
The elevated location is a brisk 10 minutes walk removed from the busy streets of Spetses town, where Dolphin ferries from Piraeus arrive several times daily, or water taxies provide easy 5 minutes transport to Kosta on the Peloponnese, with car parks 2 min walk from the waiting water taxis and less than 2 hour drive from Athens, providing easy access to attractions on the Peloponnese like the ancient theater at Epidaurus, where performances are scheduled during the summer.
We will never forget the time we spent in this home!
Thank you for such an unforgettable vacation.
We visited Spetses for a wedding on the island, and as we were traveling with a group of 9 and leaving the kids back in the states, we hoped to find a place that would give us plenty of space to stay comfortably and visit freely. As impressive as the pictures on this site are, we were still blown away by the beauty of the house and the view it offers.
The owners were great to work with, even helping us arrange transportation from the ferry dock up to the house. We were given a tour of the house, and instructions on how to use the appliances and electronics. The house itself was clean and spacious. We opted to pay for the daily cleaning service, which was not at all invasive and allowed us more time to enjoy the island and our stay.
Though the main living area of the house was beautiful, we found we spent most of our time in the outdoor living area, which had a full kitchen and generous lounging space plus the benefit of being poolside. It also offered plenty of deck space both in the sun and under cover of shade.
The house is a short walk from the part of the town with the restaurants and shops. About half of our group decided to rent scooters for the week for the daily trips down and up the hill, and the others made the walk on foot. Our group is in the 35 - 40 age group, and we found that as long as we weren't making the hike back up the hill during the hottest part of the day we didn't mind the chance to stretch our legs and get a bit of exercise. We found plenty of wonderful places to eat within walking distance, ranging from a casual inexpensive dining to more upscale and fancy. We enjoyed the food every place we dined, although one word of caution: on several occasions we ran into trouble attempting to pay with a credit card. Debit cards seemed to work fine, and of course cash was always welcomed.
We would recommend this villa to anyone traveling to Spetses Island, particularly to larger group or family. I don't know if we'll have a chance to return in the future, so it is a good to feel like we did the trip the right way the first time around.
Spetses is located 60 nautical miles south of Pireaus, is accessible by both high speed ferry service ( about 2 hours) and also by land taxi to Porto Helii which is 220 kilometres from the Athens airport and a five minute sea-crossing by sea taxi.
The island is well known as the capital of the Greek Riviera for its natural beauty, the beautiful beaches and high quality of night life. There are many cafes, restaurants discos and bars. The marina is full of yachts of all kinds from flotillas to the mega yachts of the rich and famous. Shopping is also interesting and covers all money ranges.
Boat trips can be taken to other parts of the island and to other islands such as Hydra. The Peloponnese mainland is 5 mins by water taxi and from there the ancient sites of Epidavros theatre and Naflion can easily be visited.
