About Gini Cox

The Old Post Office was my Nana's House and left to me and my sisters. We couldn't bear to part with it as we knew how much she loved it. We decided the best way to keep it was to allow others to enjoy it also. This way we could still all visit from time to time as well. It truly is a 'home from home' in a great setting and convenient location for exploring the area or just relaxing. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Gini, Sam & Vicky.

Gini Cox purchased this cottage in 1980

Why Gini Cox chose Betws Yn Rhos

The property is conveniently located in a quiet area but only a 5 minutes car ride to the A55 which leads all around the Northmost area offering an ideal way to explore.

Lovely cottage in small village

  • 5 of 5

The Old Post Office cottage is very nice & in a great location. Less than 10 minutes drive to Colwyn Bay but also not far to get to Snowdonia etc. so lots to see & do. There is also a nice village pub nearby too. Only spent three nights there but really enjoyed our stay & will be visiting again.

The accommodation was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need, except for shampoo and shower gel. We had a comfortable stay. Loved the conservatory where we had our meals and basically a great place to chill!

Thanks Gini for hosting us!

Owner's Response: Dear Glenn, Hung and family, Thank you for your kind review. I’m so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We keep toileteries in the cupboard in the living room so apologies if you didn’t find them; I will make sure this is stocked for future guests. We’d love it if you would consider us for your next visit to the UK. Thanks again, Gini

Second time here.

  • 5 of 5

It is the perfect place for our outdoor activities we enjoy in North Wales. Wish we could have something like this for 3 to 6 months in order to explore more of Wales and Europe in general. Would be a great base, but the cost for that period of time is not in the cards.

Will continue to look for something, but in the meantime, we will return to The Old Post Office as we move forward for a more cost efficient location. Our goal is to split time between the US and Wales.

Compact but well equipped

  • 4 of 5

This is a cosy small cottage ... larger living room, well equipped kitchen (lots of mugs! ... so nice not to have to wash up every time you want a coffee!). Quiet location but easy to get to from the coast road. Very nice local pub. Generally nice place to stay .. ideal for couple or family with primary aged kids but bunk-bedded room and bathroom both quite small ... wouldnt recomend for families with older kids and it was tricky bathing a baby in the tiny bathroom!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review Christine. Due to the property being a 16th Century cottage and not wanting to adapt it too much and take away from the original layout there is very little we can do about the size of the upstairs and I hope you appreciate that. We have ourselves stayed there as a family, and although quite cosy, I wouldn’t say it was unsuitable. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay and made use of all the mugs :-) I hope you would consider us again for a future visit. All the best, Gini
