Superb apartment situated directly overlooking the beautiful marina at Estepona, with the local tapas bars and restaurants within an easy 5 minute walk. The apartment complex has 2 swimming pools. Two E.C. Blue Flag beaches are just a 5 minute walk away and Estepona old town is also on the doorstep. The bedroom comprises of a large double bed with a double sofa-bed in the enclosed balcony area so families of 2 adults and 2 children can easily be accommodated. The apartment has an open balcony providing views of the marina and also North Africa (on a clear day). The apartment is comprehensively furnished including fully fitted kitchen with 4-ring cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge-freezer, washing machine, etc. Our goal has been to provide a home from home for our guests, within one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas on the Costa del Sol.
Gibraltar: Only 35 minutes drive from Estepona (and on the local bus route), Gibraltar is a sunny, VAT-free haven where you can find duty free bargains from electronic equipment & jewellery to leather & perfumes & haggling is encouraged! Make sure you don't miss the spectacular natural caverns of St. Michael's Caves or visit the Ape's Den, home to some of Gibraltar's famous Barbary Apes, the only free-to-roam primates in Europe. Watch out for monkey business as they can be mischievous and have been known to pick the occasional pocket looking for treats.
Puerto Banus & Laguna Village: Puerto Banus is about 25 minutes drive away. It has a large number of designer stores including Versace and Armani. Perfect for millionaire spotting and you may also see a famous face or two in the port as a number of Hollywood stars have summer homes there. Laguna Village is a stunning high class shopping experience just 10 minutes drive away. Whether spending an extravagant day at the beach club, shopping in the designer stores or spending time in the luxurious bars and restaurants then Laguna Village is the ideal place.
Selwo Safari Park: Only 20 minutes drive away and on the public transport route, Selwo is ideal for the perfect family day out. The park is based on an African safari park and houses 2000 animals from giraffes to panthers in semi-wild conditions. Like Jurassic Park, large open sided lorries drive you through the various animal enclosures and up into the hills above Estepona. There are elephants, bears, hippos and so much more to see. In the summer, cover up as it can get very hot and there is not much shelter.
WHAT A FIND! THIS HAS BEEN A VERY ENJOYABLE MONTH IN YOUR MOST COMFORTABLE,NICELY FURNISHED AND ABOVE ALL CLEAN APARTMENT. WE WERE WARMLY WELCOMED BY JADZIA AND STEVE WHO MADE US FEEL VERY AT HOME.THE SPECIAL TOUCH OF THE CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS, TWO FESTIVE HOUSE PLANTS, CHOCS UNDER THE TREE, BOTTLE OF WINE IN THE FRIDGE AND THE STARTER PACK WAS A VERY THOUGHTFUL TOUCH AND MUCH APPRECIATED. EVERYTHING ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION WAS EXCELLENT. WITH A LOVELY VIEW OF THE HARBOUR THE APARTMENT IS WELL SITUATED FOR EASY ACCESS TO THE QUAINT TOWN OF ESTEPONIA AND THE BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDING COUNTRYSIDE.
A well equipped, comfortable and cosy apartment in the heart of the Port. You have everything you need with the lovely Steve and Jadzia right next door helping you whenever you need it be it an item or just advice. The apartment was very clean with plenty of towels provided, blankets if you need them and the all important air conditioning which is a god send! We just go for rest and relaxation which is what Estepona is perfect for. A good 5 mile round trip into town and back via the beach front promenade with numerous restaurants and bars. We love De La Mar for good old home cooked food (generous portions) and Antonio's for the more Spanish feel. With an express supermarket just outside of the complex or the bigger supermarket only 5 minutes up the road, you are very well catered for. As there is a washing machine, airer, iron and ironing board in the apartment you can take less clothes if you prefer to save on baggage. Andy, the owner, always responded to my emails almost immediately and was very helpful indeed. Would I go back there? You bet I would and I recommend it to anyone who would like a hassle free holiday.
The property was immaculately clean and well looked after. The owner's relatives were always close at hand to offer advice and were very keen to please.Because of it's location I would recommend this apartment.Everything was convenient...the pool.and restaurants were within a two minute walk and offered a great variety of different cuisines.I prefer staying around the pool to the beach but the largest beach was very clean although the sand is very dark which may put off some people. A great place for a short break.
I have spent one week in the apartment by the end of July 2010. With my wife and two children (5 and 8).
The apartment is very nice and clean, in an excellent location by the old touristic port of Estepona, and with a superb panorama from the terrace. Everything you need is 2 minutes walk at most: shops, markets, and many very nice restaurants.
The owners are always available to help with whatever need you might have.
The location is very good also for daily visits to nearby attractions and cities, such as Malaga, Marbella, Gibraltar, Tarifa.
The beaches are 10 minutes walk and can be very crowdy, but they are ok for children. In any case, there are many other wonderful and less crowded beaches that can be reaches in 10 minutes by car.
Hope this helps.
We were quite late arrivals owing to our flight time and the owner's father-in-law, who stays in the adjoining flat, met us at the secured parking entrance to allow access. During the stay it was reassuring to know that our neighbours were on hand should we experience any problems.
Our party consisted of 2 adults (over 50) and 2 teenagers. Despite being advertised as a 1 bedroom property, the apartment is very spacious, with a luxurious bathroom with an amazingly powerful shower, There is a separate dining area (if you choose to cook) and a spacious and well furnished lounge with a double bed settee. (Please note that the bed settee has a 'foot' section under the main bed section, which turns this into a pretty large bed or provide a separate single bed).
The listing is very accurate and you simply could not wish for anything that is not included in the package. We were very impressed with the security of this building and complex. Securtiy fobs/keys were required for the pool area, carpark and again for the building.
The property was spotless and easy to maintain and keep clean (washing machine and dishwasher a bonus).
Communications from the owner were very clear and very straightforward. We received clear, concise e-mails outlining key features about the resort and surrounding area. His father-in-law called a few days before our arrival to ensure all was ok and to answer any questions I might have. He also asked if we had any special requirements for our "welcome pack". It was lovely to find a stock of water, wine, milk, bread and other essentials. A very nice touch and much appreciated.
I would highly recommend this property and the area to friends and relatives and fully intend to return as soon as possible.
In terms of the surrounding area, I am already a fan of Estepona so this is perhaps not very objective. However, if you are seeking a location free from souvenir shops with lilos hanging outside and laden with football shirts then this is not the place for you. It has a real authentic Spanish atmoshere but it is helpful that English is commonly spoken. A beautiful resort and accommodation. Highly recommended. If you wish to explore beyond Estepona a hire car is a recommended. However this is not essential as the resort contains everything that you would need for a fantastic holiday.
The Puerto Paraiso complex is ideally situated in the heart of Estepona's thriving marina with a wide array of restaurants and tapas bars giving the area a truly Spanish feel whilst pleasantly avoiding the 'night club' culture. Within a few minutes walk you will find several supermarkets and two beautiful beaches with E.C. Blue Flag status. Our favourite, Cristo Beach, is a delightful oyster-shaped cove of sheltered, gently shelving sand, ideal for children and is only 5 minutes walk away. The beach has been awarded EC Blue Flag status for cleanliness and safety and in high season is manned by lifeguards. It also has well maintained toilet and shower facilities and a choice of 2 beach front, traditional, Spanish restaurants (chiringuitos) making it ideal for spending the full day on the beach. Estepona, due to its natural environment, surrounded by the sea and Sierra Bermeja mountains, enjoys its own micro climate providing over 325 days of sunshine per year and lovely mild winters.
