Traditional house at the center of Alonissos' old capital. Perfectly suits summer and winter holidays.House firstly built in 1850 and deeply restored recently in respect to the traditional architecture of the island. The house is in the heart of the Old Town, which is the island's old capital, away form cars and traffic noises.
Consisted of 2 floors. First floor with living room, a traditional fireplace, kitchen and the shower bathroom. The wooden stair case leads to the second floor with the bedroom beautiful wooden roof and a picturesque balcony with an amazing sea view to both the Aegean sea and the N. Sporades archipelago's surrounding islands. On a clean day one can see the mount Athos and Skyros island.
The furniture have been kept in their original style but at the same time offers the guests all modern comforts. Part of the decoration consists of things of everyday use such us an old loop and frames.
My husband and I spent a memorable, relaxing eight nights in this cozy traditional house, which is well located in the old town. We arrived in mid-October---very much the off season on Alonissos. We expected everything to be closed in the old town, which was close to the reality. I'm sure in high season you would find many restaurants and stores open in the old town, but if you come in the off season you should definitely make sure you rent a car so that you can get to the few open tavernas in Patitiri and Steni Vala. Alonissos is the perfect Greek island: big enough to have many walks and beaches that will keep you interested for weeks, but small enough to navigate easily and get to know a few favorite places. We were able to swim in mid October and had practically every beach to ourselves. The house itself was responsible for a big share of the enjoyment of our trip. It is well equipped, with a real kitchen, full sized refrigerator, cooking range/oven, and everything you would need to cater for yourself indefinitely. The bed was comfortable. The views from the balcony are stunning. The house belongs to a friendly family. We enjoyed chatting with Kostas and Hariklea and their mother, as well as Hariklea's husband Panos while we were there. They were very kind and hospitable. They were perfect hosts---welcoming and helpful but also not intrusive. Although this house has been in their family for over a century, they let us feel it was ours for the (much too brief) week we were there. You will love this special place.
Lovely traditional home in a quiet spot right in the centre of the old village. Very well equipped kitchen if you like to cook and there was even some home made marmalade for us! The balcony has wonderful views and also overlooks a little chapel - we had a birds eye view of a christening and wedding during our stay. We lost water supply once but the owners came very quickly and resolved it immediately. Only minor niggle was a shower hose that didn't fit the bracket, but there is an overhead shower anyway. Highly recommended!
If you ever wondered what it would be like to actually live in one of these cosy looking Greek houses perched high up in the Chora, then here is your chance at a reasonable and fair price.
The house is a typical heritage house beautifully renovated, complete with old family photos , furniture and ambience. It is oozing family history, and the family is a very welcoming and well meaning one on top of that. The view is spectacular and a cool breeze is always present when it is very hot. Restaurants and cafees right around the corner. The family also runs a wonderful cafe and a well assorted supermarket with gift shop in Steni Vala, which is absolutely a worth a visit. We were welcomed by Kostas at the arrival of our ferry and he briefed us extensively on the house and what to do on this beautiful island of Alonissos. I can only give this beautiful house and its family my best recommendation. Regarding the restaurants in the old village I would may be be a bit hesitant to recommend the two with the best views - one has got red checkered tablecloths the other blue, and the are located just across the street from each other. They look wonderfully Greek, but are slightly more expensive, the food and service slightly mediocre according to my opinion. I found Naval the best restaurant in the old village. In Patitiri I would recommend To Akrogialis at the harbour front.
Alonissos and Villa Ekatarini is definitely worth a revisit.
First of all I want to thank you,for my plesant stay in your villa..
The traditional decoration was perfect. The view from my room was breathtaking (very nice) and last but not least everything was clean, which is the most important thing. Thank you for your kindness....... see you maybe next year..
My husband and I stayed a week in villa Ekatereni in May. Kostas met us at the port and brought us the four kilometres to the house in the Chora which used to belong to his grandmother. What a priviledge to live in this wonderful old building. The house is wonderfully equipped and is tucked away at the top of the Chora near to shops and restaurants. It was very quiet when we went that we almost felt we had the village to ourselves. We were recommended to try the snack bar on our first evening but a storm meant we went on our second night. To call itself a snack bar is a bit of an insult. The food was wonderful and such good value. We hired a car for the duration of our stay and Kostas showed us on the map all the best places to visit. We loved the beach as Chrysi Milia and to sit in the evening in the port and enjoy a drink as the sun went down. We have shown our lovely pictures to so many friends since our return and extolled the virtues of this beautiful property and stunning island. We will be back and I am sure some of our friends can't wait to come either. Thank you Kostas for a wonderful holiday.

Alonissos is the island in which the first marine park of Greece (one of the 4 and also the biggest in the Mediterranean sea) was formed and the biggest of the archipelago of the Northern Sporades. The crystal clear sea and the unspoiled environment made the region ideal for the reproduction of the monk seal. Eleonora Falcon the goats of island Yioura and rare herbs are only some of the examples that makes the flora and fauna of the island a point interest not only for Greece but for all Mediterranean sea.
The rich underwater environment with the possedonian fields the gogonians, lobsters makes diving and snorkeling an amazing experience.
A unique place perfect for relaxation and ideal for the individual to come back in touch with the nature!
