Area Info
What makes Lake St. George so special is its secluded, yet central location in mid-coast Maine, only minutes from the ocean -- 20 minutes from historic coastal Belfast, 45 mins. from Augusta to west and Camden/Rockport to east, Damariscotta to south, and only 30 mins. south to Blueberry Pie at Moody's Diner and the awesome gourmet delights at Morse's Deli! The lake is rated second in Maine for water quality--our lake association pays close attention to every boat at the public launch! You'll find a few casual local hangouts for dinner or take-out, John’s famous and delicious homemade ice cream 3 mins away...and there's always pick-up groceries, pizza or movie rentals at the local gas station! Fine dining is as close as Lincolnville, and great shopping/art/culture in Camden/Rockport! Fun day trips include north to Acadia and Bar Harbor, or south to Freeport, Boothbay, Pemaquid Beach, Monhegan Island, etc. The ocean isn't far at all, if you can drag yourself away from the lake!

Nature View
We enjoyed staying in the cabin very near access to the lake. If you like fishing, kayak this is best location. To improve no AC in the rooms, the step down to the lake is broken hazardous for us but navigate through it with safety, the room privacy & bathroom doors are all broken, knock if its your turn.. We enjoy our stay.

Never got into the camp! sent wrong instructions and left waiting with no reply for 1.5 hours
While its a lovey lake, we were sent the wrong instructions and contact info for entry. waited 1.5 hours without reply and left to go home after a 2 hour drive to get there. Owner of the camp called and attempted to blame US for not wating "long enough". also the dock and water entry are Extremely precarious. I couldn't have gotten in even if we'd stayed.

Great Lil Lake Retreat
Perfect spot to enjoy some time on the water. This lake is very clean. The cabin is a quiet spot with a great big lawn and a view of the lake that you can relax at, but there is also a convenience store, ice cream shop and brewery just up the road that you could walk to. The cabin was very clean and well equipped to cook dinner and BBQ outside.

I live in California with my 16 yr old son. I grew up in Liberty, Maine on the other side of the lake, and work very hard to be able to come back to Maine every season. I love to hear about the adventures and wonderful times my guests have at Natureview.

Why they chose this property

It is the perfect spot! Close to places to eat and to the coast, but also quiet and friendly. Kayaks, canoe, linens, and all kitchen appliances included.

What makes this property unique

I really enjoy this home - I have traveled quite a bit and I think this is the most perfect spot I have ever visited. My family lives in Maine so I get to see them and enjoy the lake with my 13 nieces and nephews as well as my son. There are special things about each part of the day at Natureview - the sun shining on the lake and into the living room, eating breakfast at the table and watching nature is heaven. Also the moon in the evening shines so brightly while I listen to the loons and the crickets. Sometimes at night, I can hear the neighbor's horses running wild. At sunset, this location is still enjoying the sun for an hour or so after the rest of the camps because of the higher location. After supper we go to John's ice cream and rush back to sit on the grass and enjoy the peace. I love to go running on the dirt road and hiking up the mountain and my son loves to fish and kayak, while exploring the mini islands in the lake. I once swam across the whole lake on a kickboard and he cheered me on! There is plenty of space for kids to run around on the grass and there is also a basketball net, horseshoe pit, stone fire pit, AND a ping pong table/hangout spot in the basement. The best, most relaxing fun you'll ever have.
