About Mrs Y Chandler

Our family has holidayed in Lymington for many years, sailed here and have had relatives living there . We hope to retire to the house before long as we love the area and the house. Currently we live and work in London.

Mrs Y Chandler purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Mrs Y Chandler chose Lymington

There is so much to do here - walking, biking, riding, sailing, bird watching, golf, nice restaurants and cafes nearby

What makes this cottage unique

The fantastic sea views and the lovely secluded garden. Total privacy and location is adjacent to a bird sanctuary. Yet it is only a mile from the centre of Lymington.

Family get together

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property for a family get together, it's a beautiful house in a lovely secluded location but still close to Lymington. The house had everything we needed with space for the kids to run around outside. We had a great weekend here and wouldn't hesitate recommending it.

Amazing house and location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at 3 Dukes Cottages! The house is amazing and we also had great weather allowing us to benefit from the large grounds and balcony. The house is very modern with all facilities you could wish for. The location is also fabulous, very secluded but a short walk from the pub and only a mile outside Lymington Town. Yolande made us feel very welcome and ensured our stay was perfect! I would thorough recommend the property and hope to visit again soon.

This is a superb large house in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

This house has been thoughtfully stoked with everything you need for your stay. As soon as we walked in we all felt right at home, as if it was our own place. We would have loved to use the beautiful well kept gardens but the weather let us down. We would all recommend Dukes Head to our friends and families.

Quiet comfort with views of the Solent

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed a three day get-together with friends at '3 Duke's Head Cottages' to celebrate a golden wedding. We were eight adults in all and there was just about sufficient accommodation for us all: comfort for six, but a bit of a squash in a tiny double room for the last couple to arrive!

The house is clearly a loved family retreat and is well equipped for lots of guests. A huge plus is the generous number of bath/shower rooms, five if counted correctly. There is parking space for at least six cars. The sitting room on the first floor is particularly pleasant being open and spacious, with copious seating and fascinating views across the fields to the activity in the Solent.

Had the weather been warmer we would have been able to take more advantage of the garden, deck and patio where we did enjoy an afternoon tea al fresco.

Apart from the famous attractions of Lymington and the New Forest it is worth mentioning that this house is perfectly located for bird watchers, walkers and cyclists, literally from the garden gate.

A beautiful, high quality home from home

  • 5 of 5

One extended family have all fallen in love with this beautiful holiday home. We were blown away with lovely secluded setting, stunning views and the beautifully appointed accommodation. Described with some accuracy on the web site we felt, if anything, it was rather undersold! With the exception of a stair gate to contain an active 1 year old, the house is well equipped with everything clean and in good order. The garden is an added bonus with plenty of places to sit and relax plus space to run around. We found masses to do for all ages, in all weathers and within easy reach. Crabbing from Lymington quayside was a firm favourite helped along by very good pub food at The Ship Inn. The local pub were also very accommodating and looked after our large group very well. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property and we are hoping to return ourselves in the not too distant future .

Fantastic break in beautiful cottage near Lymingto

  • 5 of 5

I booked this beautiful cottage earlier in the year for a special birthday weekend in November for 6 adults & 4 children. From the first moment I booked I felt very confident about the owner Yolande Chandler & the property. When we arrived we were not disappointed in our choice of property. It is a beautiful cottage, furnished & decorated well, All the rooms were well serviced, toiletries provided in bathrooms etc., instruction re heating & water all clearly advised. We loved the huge dining table & it was perfect for our family meals. The lounge is massive with the most spectacular views & in the mornings bathed with golden sunlight. There was an open fire, logs provided for your use. During the day the children had so much space it was a pleasure to see & the evening ambience was very relaxing for the adults. Unfortunately the days were cold & we were not able to use the outside terrace which had seating, but we could imagine how attractive this would be on a warm summer's evening. The garden/grounds were immaculate with a large trampoline in a far corner, which again the children enjoyed. I can't speak too highly of this property & it's owner & we shall certainly return again.

Lymington is a well-known sailing centre at the edge of the famous New Forest which is a National Park. It has many walks, lakes, characterful old English pubs and is a nature reserve. Local activities include many walking areas, horse-riding bird-watching and of course all water sports. The Isle of Wight is a popular tourist attraction only a 15 minute ferry ride away with many beaches. Lymington is a thriving town with a very popular Saturday market and is only a half hour drive from both Southampton and Bournemouth airports and just under a 2 hour drive from from the centre of London. Nearest beaches are approx 5 miles away and there are many places to explore in all sizes of boat, from Cowes in the Isle of Wight to Beaulieu, Keyhaven and on to Mudeford beaches.

There are many nice pubs, some good restaurants and golf courses within easy reach.

Other Activities: sailing walking bird-watching
