Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday chalet in Aime - BEAUTIFUL INDEPENDANT CHALET

5 minutes from the slopes, traditional wooden self catering chalet. Sleeps 10

This all wood free standing chalet has been recently awarded a 3* classification from the Tourist Office of La Plagne and also a 3 Crystal classification from the Tourist Office of Paradiski.

The chalet is spacious, comfortable and is situated in the village of Montalbert La Plagne, one of the charming satellite villages of La Plagne. This is a convenient self catering chalet centering around a large double height sitting room with open plan kitchen, a log burning fire and huge windows which reveal stunning uninterrupted views across the valley.

There are four bedrooms - two with double beds, one with a single bed and a bunk bed and one with three single beds. The dining area seats up to 10 and there is a fully equipped kitchen.

There are two bathrooms and a laundry room.

The chalet is an approximate 5-minute walk from the ski lift in the centre of the village which gives access to the 400 kilometres of high altitude pistes of the Paradiski area - a truly massive ski area encompassing La Plagne ski area and Les Arcs. This is a family winter paradise with doorstep ski school and access to loads of hard core and off piste skiing.

Ski details: This chalet is managed by a local agent. All enquiries and bookings are handled by the local agent.

This is a property designed for ski and summer holidays and is perfectly set up for them.

Terrific Chalet with everything we needed

  • 4 of 5

Chalet Les Arolles had everything our party required - it was clean, well maintained and equipped ranging from the kitchen to the bathrooms and bedrooms with very comfortable beds and also quality bedding and towels provided. The Chalet had a real homely feel and was exactly as described in the booking details. Location was good, being just a short 10 minute walk (the uphill return was a good workout at the end of the day) from the village centre and all the facilities there. Montalbert village itself was great and very compact - on first sight you might think there wasn't a lot there but there were more than sufficient bars and good restaurants (our favourites were La Tourmente and La Luge). The small supermarket was ideal and a couple of local produce shops also had good food. We use the Skiset shop for ski hire who were friendly, helpful and provided good quality equipment at a favourable price. The skiing was terrific with easy access up to the main La Plagne area. We were on the lift at 9am each day skiing through to 4pm. We were lucky with blue sky weather and covered around 40k of sking each day. Overall a brilliant holiday in a lovely chalet and village. Many thanks and we would certainly recommend and hope to visit again

Best Chalet, lovely resort!

  • 5 of 5

One of the best chalets we have stayed in.

2 families (4 adults and 5 teenagers aged 13-15) stayed over New year. We drove from Calais, overnight hotel in Annecy and had a reasonable drive to the chalet on the Sunday. Needed chains soon after we entered Montalbert-it had just snowed heavily and the chalet is up a couple of very sharp bends in the village. Parked outside the chalet to unload but the car was left near the main car park in the village.

The chalet is really great-enough room so that we never felt cramped, rooms were reasonable size and enough space for the snow board and all the ski wear to dry. Good size bathrooms/showers. We hired ski stuff from Ski Set where Rebecca works and they were all really helpful. Had a locker in the shop for the skis-the ski lift is only a few yards away from the shop-really easy-no walking back to the chalet in boots, carrying skis!!

The chalet was warm-has a fantastic wood burner and lots of logs. Kitchen is good-much better than in many chalets so we were easily able to cook evening meals for all of us. Dishwasher, microwave, big fridge and loads of pots/pans/utensils etc. The view from the main living area is fantastic-easily the best view from any chalet I have stayed in.

Montalbert is fairly small and quiet-didn't go out much in the evenings but I imagine apres ski is limited! Decent restaurants though and a 1 supermarket selling the usual stuff.

We had car trouble on the last day-Rebecca was really helpful with helping with taxi companies for transfers etc-Thank you!!

All in all, one of the nicest chalets we have stayed in-great feel to the place, impressive views, well equipped, and leaving the skis in the shop locker was a real bonus. Definitely would come back here again as would our friends!!

Fantastic Chalet!

  • 5 of 5

Just arrived back from a great stay at this property. Its located in the quiet village of Montalbert which has a couple of bars and plenty of restaurants. It was quiet in the pubs the week I was there, not much of an apres ski vibe but that suits some. Apparently the week before the pubs were full.

The chalet itself is a few minutes walk up a small bank from the lift. However you can put your skis on at the door and ski down the side of the road to the lift. Failing that you can walk through the chalets about 150m to the side of the piste and ski from there. On the way home we simply skiied under the lift near a copse of trees about level with the chalet and walked the 150m with our skis on the flat. Easy! If your'e not happy with that then the ski shop will store your kit for you at the bottom of the piste. No walking about carrying heavy equipment here!

The chalet itself is split over three floors. There is plenty of space to store equipment and dry clothing. All of the bedrooms provide adequate space etc. We were an all male group and managed fine in the room with the bunk beds which was probably the smallest one.

The open plan living/dining/kitchen on the 1st floor is excellent. There is plenty of space for everyone and the view from the window is amazing. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to make some nice meals for the group.

Our group consisted of 8 males and there was ample space for us. The chalet would certainly suit 10 persons. It would be ideal for a couple of families sharing as it has bedrooms split over the three floors. Also the ease of getting the kids to the lift on a morning is a plus.

If you are looking for a well positioned quality chalet is a quieter compact resort then this place is for you. It is without a doubt the best value chalet I have ever stayed in. Triple the price in January if you want this quality in Meribel to give u an idea.

To get to Plagne 2100 its 2 lifts from the village followed by a long easy/fun blue through the trees, then one more lift and the whole area opens up.

I received plenty of friendly emails from the owner along with all the info I needed. He has someone on hand in the village should you have any issues(of which there were none).

Book this. You wont be disappointed.

On a roll? Honour roll? Les Arolles!

  • 5 of 5

One of the nicest things about arriving at Chalet Les Arolles at night (as we did) is to wake up to the view in the morning. The chalet is set in the village of Montalbert, halfway up the mountain, overlooking the valley to the opposing range of snowclad Alps. The village is a delight and the chalet is conveniently located within an easy 5 minute walk of everything – shops, ski hire and lifts. The village had everything we needed. There are plenty of restaurants (we recall at least six) and the few we tried were excellent. Real food, emphatically not novelle cuisine, and real people, friendly and helpful. Even the take-away roast chook was a culinary delight – make sure you get the potatoes with it.

We loved the ski area – almost 2000 metres of vertical, with masses of lifts and gondolas spread over who knows how many thousands of hectares. After 2 weeks of skiing we were still finding large chunks of unexplored territory. Although many of the pistes are blue, there a plenty of nice, long blacks, and even the moguls are friendly. Untrashed powder can be found off-piste for days after a snowfall – or maybe we were just there in a quiet time, as we didn’t see a lift line. At the end of each day, we left our ski gear with the friendly staff at the rental shop near the base of the lift, put on our shoes and walked home unencumbered.

The chalet had everything that we wanted. Everything worked. We had 8 staying the first week and 6 the second and at no time were we tripping over each other. The kitchen was well appointed, with more stuff than would normally be expected in rental accommodation – more like home. Our (one) non-skier was quite happy, reading, writing, taking in the view, watching the light changing on the mountains opposite and pottering down to the village.

We have had many extended skiing holidays over the years, but this was probably our most memorable.

Cosy chalet that works really well

  • 5 of 5

This chalet has a great vibe yet works very well even when it is full. This is partly due to the layout- a very practical bathroom arrangement ,a small yet functional and well equipped kitchen, which is alongside the cosy open plan living area. It was very clean and well presented with beautiful views in a quiet and picturesque location. It was handy for the slopes and the shops. I was really charmed by how friendly and helpful everyone was in the village, as well as pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced lessons and ski hire were.I am planning to return as soon as possible with my family.

Chalet agréable mais....

  • 3 of 5
