Nestled in a valley near Civitella Casanova, this brand new villa offers all the amenities of modern day living and maintains the old world charm of the rural villas that Italy is known for. This new construction was completed in 2008 with traditional materials such as terra cotta, wooden beams & stone. The landscaping around the house and pool is being completed in autumn of 2009. This villa has three spacious suites each having a large bedroom and attached private bath. In addition there is a fully equipped kitchen to delight the gourmet chef. Located among vineyards and olive farming, this villa provides a peaceful setting to enjoy the surrounding olive trees and a direct view of the Majella mountains. Swim in the 10x5m meter pool while gazing at the surrounding olive trees and mystical mountains. Many local restaurants within 10 mins.
We had a lovely time in Civitella Casanova.
The house is lovely.
We enjoyed it very much; views of the olive groves and the hills were beautiful to waken up to.
We have many happy memories of our time there.
Our party of 3 couples each had large bedroom and private bath. Well equipped kitchen with indoor and outdoor tables for 10 so great for family meals or activities. Spectacular views and lovely pool with a nice village nearby and several restaurants. Mountains and national park almost on the doorstep and warm Adriatic beaches about 40 minutes away. Mila is awesome- she came over first day and spent almost 2 hours helping us plan our week.
Villa is so spacious and comfortable inside, very well equipped for family cooking and meals. Outdoor table under the arbor is another wonderful place for meals or reading, overlooking a nice big pool and stunning view both night and day! Mila was wonderful, and spent a considerable time with us helping us to plan some fun outings. She was just a phone call away for any questions. Wonderful stay out in the countryside near a friendly village, with some interesting towns and the seaside in easy range. A highlight was a meal we arranged at the agritourismo right at the end of our lane - wonderful people there too. We'd highly recommend the villa for families or 3 couples (as we were)!
The position of the house gives fantastic views. Waking up and sitting outside is a great start of the day. The house is very spacious, very clean and every bedroom has it's own bathroom which was a luxury. There was nothing missing. Even on warm days the house was cool and comfortable.
For activities you must be prepared that 30 min drives are default. The mountains of Campo Imperatore are a must see in our opinion. Civitella Casanova and it's near villages provide more then enough restaurants (cheap and very good) and supermarkets.
The reality was absolutely conform to the written description : the house is elegant, furnished with taste, and the view is lovely. We were lucky that the tenants of the neighbouring house were very calm. We were welcomed by Mila, with her friendly explanations in excellent English. If I want to buy a second residence one day, it would be the same style....
A slight drawback : TV was not working and WIFI neither during that week.
And a mixer + a juicer would complete the kitchen equipment...
This house is in an amazing position with sublime views huge skies, an excellent swimming pool, and provides ALL that is offered in the description.
It was very clean and well maintained and we would thoroughly recommend it.
There were few options to eat out locally at the time we were there but this made no difference. Plenty of shops available in Civitella provided fabulous fresh produce (especially wine!) at very low cost.
You WILL enjoy this house folks.
Even though you are embedded in the Italian country side, you are not far from civilization. A short 3 minute car ride to Civitella Casanova, the principal town of the commune, will provide you access to bars, restaurants, a super market and other shopping. You can also enjoy the local street market every Sunday. Extensive sandy beaches are 40 min away north and south from Pescara. At the coast you can find many shops, restaurants or just lounge on the beaches. For those that prefer a more active vacation, the nearby mountains that rise to 9000ft provide many hiking trails, touring and picnicking opportunities. In addition, there are many Roman ruins, medieval castles, churches and other historical sites all within a 2 hour drive. The Abruzzo region is seldom crowded, even in August, and therefore provides a tranquil escape from the busy modern day life.
