Photos and Description of this holiday apartment in Kensington

Independent self-catering studio apartment in Central London, sleeps 2.

Unusually large, totally independent studio apartment off High St Kensington and Holland Park. Lower ground studio - at front of elegant, well maintained Victorian house. Studio has own private entrance direct from the street - 3 steps down. Small front patio area and planters with olive trees and lavender gives privacy. Rental apartment has much light and a sunny aspect. The studio was refurbished recently when new wooden floors and central heating were installed. The studio has just been redecorated. The studio has an entrance hall, separate kitchen, separate bathroom (shower and basin), separate toilet/WC, and then a very large living/bedroom, with spacious dressing area and built-in wardrobe area at the back. Fully furnished and equipped with everything that you need for either a few days rental, several weeks, or even months! King size bed, linen and towels recently purchased for the studio. Ideal rental apartment for professionals on business, holiday makers, research students, musicians, trade fair exhibitors, etc. Perfect accommodation for Olympia Exhibition Centre. Free WIFI broadband internet access. Very reasonable minicabs to airports. Strictly no smoking.

Great stay

This was a lovely studio apartment for visiting London. Daniel was always helpful and answered any questions we had. Just a great base for seeing all of London's sights, then a comfy bed to come back to. Thank you for the wonderful stay and memories.

London Trip of a life time

  • 5 of 5

WOW this was a brilliant wee place to stay and take advantage of the London life. We booked this months in advance as we were traveling from New Zealand and wanting a great wee place to be based in London while we went to all the football games we could. Daniel was brilliant host to us, we stayed a month. great trains around us, lovely walks to the shops, supermarket, malls, markets, buses.

I could not recommend this enough.

Convenient, comfortable, and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This flat was a perfect base for my vacation in London! I stayed ten days and found it comfortable, well-located, and a pleasure to come home to at the end of a long day of sightseeing, the theatre, and other activities. This flat is easily three or four times the size of my last hotel room in London!

The bed is very comfortable, there is a great deal of storage space (both shelves and hanging space), and more than ample hot water for the shower and the washing machine. The kitchen was small but more than adequate for my needs, and I loved being able to fix breakfast in the flat every day before heading out to my activities. Had I wanted to cook a full meal every evening, I could have done so, but that wasn't what I came to London to do!

The flat is located on a quiet residential street; I came home late at night several times and always felt perfectly safe walking from the bus or train to the flat. London is a very safe city generally, and Kensington perhaps even more so.

Daniel is a genial and thoughtful host who has done his best to anticipate any need a guest in the flat might have, and he checked in with me several times via email to make sure I was not in need of anything. Speaking of email, the wifi is robust and easy to use, and there are several well-placed electrical outlets for charging your various devices (don't forget to bring an adapter though!).

A couple of factual points that are useful to know: the shower might be tricky for a very tall person to use, because entering the shower stall requires the user to step up about a foot from the floor, and the ceilings are not high. I am 5'2" and had no difficulty, but a tall person might have to adjust the shower head to suit him better. Also, the nearest tube station to the flat, Kensington (Olympia), just half a block away, is actually served by the tube only on weekends and during special events at the Olympia exhibition space around the corner. It is served on a regular schedule daily only by the Overground rail. This was not a big problem for me, though, because the bus service on the Kensington High Street (half a block away in the other direction) is excellent (including the #9, my favorite London bus route), and I much preferred to take the bus whenever possible, for the simple joy of looking out the windows. If you do need the tube you can take one of the three buses that serve Hammersmith, or even walk to Hammersmith; it is less than a mile.

Highly recommended.

Excellent stay

  • 5 of 5

We really had a confortable stay at this studio flat in Kensington. For 2 people has enough space and its location in a quiet street is the main point I would underline. Clean and with all the conforts, I would reccomend this flat for a safe and easy stay in west London with easy access to public transports. I defenetely would come back to this place in my next visit to London.

Lovely and peaceful, yet central

  • 5 of 5

The flat is perfect for 1-2 people, it is cosy and has all the comforts you could want. Peaceful yet central to the tube and other amenities. Walking distance to Shephards Bush or Kensington High Street. Daniel, the host was extremely welcoming and made sure I was ok but without being intrusive. I would definitely stay here again.

The studio is totally self-contained but as the owners live next door we can supply most things in an emergency and we try to help as much as possible. There is no security problem at the studio or in the area as there are many families with young children around us. Obviously you need to lock doors and windows at night or when you go out - like anywhere else. The two best bus routes into central London - Piccadilly, Oxford Street, Hyde Park and Trafalgar Square - pass at the top of our road! This is also excellent accommodation for exhibitors and visitors to OLYMPIA EXHIBITION CENTER.
