Family sized villa - relax on the terraces with beautiful views of the sea

This villa has unique and stunning views out over the sea, and has the benefit of a great central location near all facilities , but is not overlooked and enjoys privacy in the gated gardens. Vale do Lobo is one of the most prestigious resorts in the Algarve, with the best in golf, tennis, beaches and restaurants. Perfect for any age, as there really is something for everyone. Accommodation: superkingsize bedroom, air conditioned, 2 twin bedrooms,, also air conditioned, (at extra charge), 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, utility room, dining room and living room. French doors open onto the private rear garden, the front has a south facing sun terrace and beautiful flower beds, with fabulous views overlooking the sea. The beach is a two minute walk away. The location is ideal for kids of any age, as the proximity to the beach makes getting to and from it so simple, and the shops, restaurants and bars, are just an easy stroll for young and old. Enjoy breathtaking views overlooking the sea whilst having breakfast, lunch or dinner from the front terrace, and from the first floor balcony for cocktails and morning coffee. Free WIFI access is provided. Air conditioning (supplemental). Three hours of cleaning is included every week, and can be provided every day at a small additional cost. Babysitting is easily arranged through our English speaking managing agents, who are more than happy to help. Washing machine, dishwasher, traditional Portuguese outdoor BBQ, storage area, drying racks, sun loungers, satellite widescreen plasma TV/DVD. Beach towels can be provided upon request for nominal charge. There is a very good local supermarket at the entrance to Vale do Lobo ( a 2-3 minute drive or 20 minute walk) , which has a very good selection of groceries, and makes shopping very convenient. There are several others a short 10 minute drive away in Almancil. Faro airport is 20 minutes away. In high season the villa has one car parking permit issued by the resort, enabling guests to park in the nearby street. Out of season, parking is free in Vale do Lobo.

In the summer, there are many different concessions on the beaches, providing sunloungers and sunshades. These areas are life guarded . There is a wide range of seasonal watersports on the beach right in front of the villa. Or you can take boat tours for the day, or by the hour, from the nearby marina at Vilamoura, a vibrant area with many shops and restaurants, or the national park of the Ria Formosa.

Golf: Golf is a major attraction to this part of the Algarve - and there are three beautiful links courses available at Vale do Lobo. Quinta do Lago, which is 10 minutes drive away, also has several championship courses. Special rates can be obtained through our agents.

Tennis: The Vale do Lobo tennis centre offers several different surfaces to play on, together with use of their pool, gym and restaurant. The courts are booked on an hourly basis for a fee (upon application). There is also a tennis centre with multiple surfaces available in Quinta do Lago, where games can be arranged, and tournaments played. The Doña Filipa hotel has three courts which can be rented at very reasonable rates, and has the benefit of being right across the road.

Swimming Pool: The pool pictured in front of the villa is privately owned (Breeze), and use of it with sunlounger and towel is available for a charge ( they offer a variety of new rates). Young children however are free of charge. There is also a kids' pool not shown in the photos, which is free for them.

Villa Rental requirement: There is a requirement that there must be at least one adult over the age of 25 present at all times during the rental period.

Barringtons Club: Has been closed now for some years.

SPA - The Vale do Lobo club is a 10 minute walk up the road, and has a luxurious spa with beauty treatments, hamman and an indoor pool.

Kangaroo Club: this kids' club really has wonderful facilities for young children, and offers hourly care for young babies and children up to around 8. There is a pool, bouncy castle, climbing frames, and indoor facilities also.


We are very happy to give recommendations, there is a very wide variety of cafés, bars and restaurants, some of them right on the beach.

About Chris Ehinger

We are a family with two teenage children, and bought the villa from my parents, so this villa has been in the family for 30 years. We have updated it, and have enjoyed many holidays here over the years. Generations of kids have enjoyed holidays here, from babies through to teens and young adults, to families with grandparents.

We love the peacefulness here, yet there is so much to do. We try to enjoy holidays here three or four times a year, sometimes with the kids, other times just with friends.

We live in Berkshire, England, having moved from the States in 1996.

We never get bored, there is always something to do. the restaurants are fabulous, and we think the beaches here are the best in the Algarve, if not the world.

What makes this house unique

The proximity to the beach and all the facilites of the Praca - indeed much of Vale do Lobo is walkable from this location. But the sweeping sea view we enjoy from our front terrace is the main attraction of the house.

All the bedrooms have airconditioning available for an extra charge.The rooms are furnished very comfortably with traditional Portuguese furniture. There is plenty of cupboard space in all the bedrooms.

Top location with deficits

For this house we also had to sign a contract with the owners, something we never had to do before. But we took a positive view that it is important for the owners to know who is coming into the house. Nevertheless, it was unusual, as there were still various chargeable add-ons integrated (e.g. heating). The Vale de Lobo Resort has about 1500 apartments and houses, 2 golf courses, 14 tennis courts, a medical center, etc.). That's why we haven't been able to find the parking lot for a long time and it's easy to get lost without a plan. After about 1 hour we found the house after all. A precise route description would have been very helpful in advance. However, the view and the location of the accommodation compensated for this for the time being. Another positive aspect was that some good restaurants were available within walking distance. Price performance was right. Unfortunately, there were also some things we didn't like. Unfortunately, we were also not informed in advance that a large construction site was in operation right next to our house. Between 7 and 8 o'clock in the morning we were woken by construction noise. In the kitchen we were missing some important things, like a sharp knife, enough coffee spoons, coffee machine. Various things like toilet paper, detergent, kitchen paper, etc. we first had to buy ourselves. The dryer mentioned in the description was also missing. The furnishing and functionality of the furniture is very outdated and the drawers sometimes smell very unpleasant, so that we have placed our clothes on the chest of drawers instead of in the chest of drawers. No door in the house can be closed without noise because they are warped. On a bed sheet we discovered an unsavoury spot. Fortunately, we were able to change the cover of an unused bed. The biggest disappointment was that we were not allowed to use the pool for free. We would have had to pay 60 Euro for the whole family and this per day!!!!! Here, too, we would have appreciated some advance information. We are considering coming back to Vale de Lobo, but unfortunately not to this house. The price does not justify the performance at all.

Owner's Response: What a shame that you didn't appreciate the charm and character of our lovely Portuguese home as much as previous guests. If you do indeed return to VDL we would most definitely recommend you opt for a modern rental property. We did apologise at the time about the construction, of which we knew nothing as VDL had not notified any of the residents, not even our managing agents were aware of it.. We do indeed have a separate contract because this is our family home, so this process may well differ from your previous experiences with rental properties. We try very hard to make sure that our guests expectations and ours are aligned, all of which you seemed happy with during the booking process. You clearly speak excellent English, but perhaps you misunderstood or misinterpreted some of the details relating to pool charges, laundry facilities etc. These are clearly detailed on the webpage. Lastly , I am sorry you found the kitchen lacking, nobody has ever complained before.

2 minutes walk to the beach

Exactly as announced: 2 minutes walk to the beach, very quiet at night in spite of being so near to the center. Well equipped and with a very nice view from balcony. Just one suggestion: room furniture could be more "summer like".

Fabulous villa and wonderful holiday.

This is a stunning villa in a perfect location next to the Praca. This was our first holiday in Vale de Lobo and we took our two daughters and their friends and had a wonderful holiday. The villa is perfect - close to the restaurants and centre and we went to the pool opposite every day. The mornings and evenings on the terrace were fabulous and the view will stay with me for a long time. I would thoroughly recommend this villa and would love to return one day as it was a beautiful family home that was so welcoming. I could not rate this highly enough due to the high quality of accomodation, cleanliness and the service from the owner is wonderful. We felt very welcome and would love to visit again.

Third Time Here - Brilliant!

Once again had a fantastic week at this villa , this time we invited some friends who equally enjoyed the convenient location and well equipped villa , everything about this place is great , the villa now benefits from air-con and new sound proof windows in the bedrooms which eliminates any late night revelers returning home from the restaurants and bars nearby , although never worried us I can see the benefits to some holiday makers. Owners contactable if ever needed , although we had no problems for 'peace of mind' mini safes in bedrooms would be useful!

A lovely home in a great spot

The villa has everything you could need for a short break. Beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped and it is very well situated with glorious views of both sea and pool. We hired bikes and cycled along the Ria Formosa one day and then the opposite direction the other - both were fabulous. We really enjoyed our few days at this lovely villa.

Vale do Lobo is Portugal's best known and largest golf, tennis and beach resort. In an area of outstanding natural beauty with protected grassy reserves, the beaches are pristine, and stretch for mile upon mile of golden sand with dunes and golden cliffs. A truly year round destination, with three premier golf courses, the Tennis Centre with 14 multi surfaced courts, pool and gym, the Royal Spa and Fitness Centre with indoor pool and gym, Hamman and luxurious beauty treatments, Equestrian centre, biking, and go-karting to name but a few activities. In the summer enjoy waterskiing, windsurfing, parasailing and sailing. There are so many fabulous restaurants, of varying price ranges, that it is impossible to visit them all in one holiday. The villa is only 20 minutes from Faro airport, and within easy reach of several excellent shopping centres, cinemas and waterparks. The local shopping centre (8 minute drive) has everything from local pottery and handicrafts, to international designer name stores. The villa is located in a prime position , south facing with wonderful 180 degree sea views, and is perfect for all ages. A car is not necessary, but recommended as the supermarkets are a short drive away.

We have local management agents, who are easily contactable if you have any questions about the villa, or the local area. They can also provide excellent babysitters if required.

We will take bookings in £ stering or Euros.

Golf: Vale do Lobo, San Lorenzo, Quinto do Lago, Vilamoura - to name but a few of the excellent and championship courses nearby. There is plenty to do for families with children of all ages, or groups of older singles. The nightlife in the Praca includes two nightclubs and there are several restaurants, newagents and shops. The Praca is easily walkable in a very safe area. The large pool in front of the house is open seasonally to all residents. Guests in the villa may purchase daily or weekly admission, children under 7 are free (there is also a kids' pool). Guests cards for the resort can be purchased at the Vale do Lobo reception, and used to obtain discounted entry to all the facilities.
